Our shop is family owned and operated since 1972. We can help you with your Home, Business and Automotive locks and keys. Bring your locks into the shop and we will re-​key them while you wait. We can copy keys for most cars including Transponder or «chip» keys. Our prices can not be beat. We also make keys for motorcycles, scooters, office furniture, antique furniture and everything in between.

Ever been to a place where you felt the absolute need to help out a business as much you can just because of the fantastic job they do and their great customer service? That’s how I feel about and I feel like giving them a perfect Unilocal rating is the least I can do. The owner was so courteous and was able to fix my lock in less than 10 minutes! The prices were more than fair. I almost wish I had more reasons to go to a locksmith because I want to give them more business.

The guy is the best; honest, quick, reliable, tells you like it is. Give this guy your business and pay with cash — credit card fees eat up profits (I know my friend has a shop and has explained all the fees that they are charged!) The keys ALWAYS work, even when he has had to improvise. Thank you.

Awesome! Took my antique Stewart McGuire gumball machine in and the way cool owner made me a key for it on the spot… took all of 3 minutes… only charged me $ 7.00 …WOW…now I can get top dollar for my Gumball… This place is awesome… definitly where you want to go… Thanks!

Found this place thanks to Unilocal and im sticking with it from now on. Awesome store and owner. Super fast and no place can beat the price. Keys work and fit perfectly in the first try. Any houstonian should come here for key and lock jobs.

They re-​keyed my house near the Heights and did a great job. I made the appointment for the following day and they were really fast. Sonny (the mobile guy) is a very nice and friendly person. Good prices and great customer service. Would definitely use again.

Another great experience! I went back again when my 2nd Lexus laser cut blank key came in the mail. Again, he is open on Saturdays so it was very convenient for me. The key work flawlessly and only took couple of minutes. He ask me if I had the program instructions with me, which I left at home. He informed me that the key will not start unless I programmed the key. I told him I knew that I have the program instructions at home. After duplicating the key, He went into my car and program the key in 2 minutes. I was really grateful because I didn’t have to program the key because it was some ridiculously long instructions that I was not in the mood to mess with. He really went out of the call of duty and didn’t charge me extra for programming the key also. I did leave a little tip for his generosity. A+++++ all the way around!

Convenient, fast, locally owned locksmith in The Heights. I found the owner to be very friendly and he was able to quickly rekey 2 locks and make several copies within a few minutes. He’s also very reasonable with his rates… which begs the question of why you would want some random person or automated machine to make copies at one of the big chains when you can have a local locksmith hand copy keys in a matter of seconds (my copies were perfect).
What really sold me was what seemed to be regulars coming in to get copies made.

No matter what I throw at them, no matter how idiotic my situation, Reed’s is always fast, professional, kind, and even pretty darn cheap. It’s like going into a shop from another time. Anyway, I can’t say enough good things about them; they’re awesome.

I came here to get a key copied the other day, and the guy at the desk was awesome!
I had bought the key online, because I really wanted a lightsaber key. There was a problem with the type of key I had bought, but he suggested alternative keys and showed me which keys on my ring the lightsaber key could be made into. He cut my lightsaber key free of charge, and I also bought a cool guitar key!
Overall, this place has awesome customer service, and I will be back for any other of my key needs.

Excellent service… because of other excellent reviews here, sent my out of state college daughter there to make a spare back up key for emergencies to open and start 2010 Camry. $ 43 total, wow! This is hundreds of $$ elsewhere for a simple chipped key. Thanks Reed’s!!! 5 stars all the way!

These guys are fantastic! They came out on short noticed, were quick and efficient. The lock was something they could not repair (German), but they pointed me in the right direction. When I asked if he would make me 5 extra keys for my gate, he wouldn’t charge me for them — so I slipped him some cash as a thank you. They are knowledgeable — I will only use them in the future!

I live out of state but I still own a home in the Heights. I had to have my entire home re-​keyed including a mailbox that I didn’t have the key to anymore. The owner of Reed’s Key Shop was super accommodating and extra friendly and I couldn’t ask for better service. I’m sure I’ll have to use them again since we are having to lease our house out due to relocation for work. I highly recommend you use them, even if you don’t live in the area!!!

I needed 8 keys made this morning. I Unilocaled key shops and decided to try this one based on reviews. The guy was super polite and quick. He also made sure to keep them separated the way I had handed them to him.
I was out of there in less than 10 mins.
Also, they have tons of neat stuff and decorative keys to choose from.
Great prices, as well! Will be going back in the future.

I was on my way to one of the home improvement stores to have keys made when I saw this place. It is simply a place to get keys made, and they sell locks and other key related paraphernalia as well.
We were immediately helped, and had our keys and were out the door in less than 10 minutes. The whole thing only cost a few dollars. If will definitely go back here for all of my key related needs.
