Project Row Houses is a community-based arts and culture non-profit organization located in Houston’s historic Third Ward.
History
Established in 1993.
Founded in 1993 by seven african-american artists, including 2014 McArthur «Genius» Award winner Rick Lowe, Project Row Houses revitalized two blocks of shotgun houses, turning them into alternative spaces for artists as well as a safe space for the community to learn and grow. PRH recently celebrated it’s 20th anniversary and is now moving forward into its next 20 years with an expanded vision for itself and the Third Ward community.
