This location is closer to my house than the other one so I come here a lot! I can usually get into a service when I walk in without an appt. The girls here really take care of you and are genuinely interested in making you feel ultra fabulous!

I was suckered into buying $ 25 of trial potions — do not fall into the abyss! I bought a Groupon for $ 36 because the concept looked intriguing — a massage without someone actually groping you? I’m all in! Well, you have to sit through a speech to up sell you before you can even begin — and right before you are ushered in, you are told that you «must» buy a trial set of lotions/​potions to use. They cost $ 25 — the three together total .36/​oz, and you are told that you are expected to use them for the entire 3 sessions of your Groupon. Well, since they came in these squeeze packages with tear off tops, my concern was they would leak and how would I keep them for my next two sessions. WELL! They close them with a piece of tape and place them in a Ziploc baggie for you. First class, huh? On my way out of the first session, I knew that I would not be using the other two sessions because some of the equipment was not being kept up and looked worn out/​unclean. For example, the cover of the bed that massages you with water had rips all over it that were not concealed by the sheet that was placed over it. I had to remind them to give me my trial potions, and they brought them to me, they just plopped them on the counter where they leaked out! No problem, because that’s when she taped them up, put them in a baggie, handed it to me, and then wiped the excess from the counter — AND SMILED AT ME. Mind you, I was only working with .36 ounces to begin with? I was mortified. I tried calling the corporate office in November and there was a voice mail saying that they were out for the Labor Day holiday! I can’t go on.

After being a member of this tanning salon for more than six years I began taking some medications which prevented me from sun exposure. The supposedly friendly salon staff told me that I could freeze my membership for up to three months without penalty. Fast-​forward 90 days and I am called by a young woman to collect back dues on my account, and after explaining to her that I had frozen the membership she politely told me that Danielle the manager didn’t do the necessary paperwork and that I now owed approximately $ 74.
I politely explained to her that I no longer wish to pay the fees after being a member for more than six years, and that I was taking my business elsewhere.
Six months later I decided to go and try it once again, and I was hit with the information that I owed $ 214, because even on the second request the necessary button wasn’t pushed on whatever system they used and that they were continuing to build me for a supposed «membership». Again when I explained that I had spoken to this Danielle who no longer works for the company, they called yet another manager at another location who told them no indeed I did of the money, though this person had never met me and do absolutely nothing about me.
I can honestly say I don’t blame the poor people working at the location, they are nothing but an ever-​changing cavalcade of faces with little to no knowledge whatsoever as to what customer service is. Basically the entire thing is set up like one gigantic scam, they will tell you if you’re going to provide a service and then failed to do so. Their entire existence is based on charging fees. Don’t bother, go to their competition and do yourself a favor. The young ladies told me that there was nothing they could do because their «system» told them that I owed $ 214 for services that I never used more than a year previously 48 supposedly membership that was a month-​to-​month that was never canceled. Sad. Quite clearly this business is suffering and survives more on fees and sending people to collections agencies for these mythically never cancelled memberships.

NEVER go to this location. It has been a YEAR and I still have to dispute the charge on my credit card. They rush you to sign you up without giving you all the details and then won’t let you cancel. It has been a year since I have been there (I cancelled my membership a year ago) and they are still charging my card. I still have two months that I can’t get refunded to my card. I cancelled the credit card they had on file but somehow they hacked into my new card and started charging it… that is FRAUD!!!

I have always loved this concept. It’s like a futuristic day spa so of course it will get its criticism but I personally love it because I can go there and just have «me» time when I need it. I see most of the negative comments are about payments. I am a responsible person and understand that everything has it’s cost and for me this is worth it because I can see a huge difference in my skin and complexion and don’t really need as much makeup. Everyone should try the lumiere facial and the hydration station. Wish I had the massage bed at my house lol

This needs to be updated to «Planet Beach Contempo Spa» as Tanning Salon doesn’t even begin to cover it.
I’ve been a member for four years… Years before they had many of the services available now. I’m hooked. I love it.
Standout service awards go to Emily and Mary. Basically everyone else is great too. These are just two girls I know are always looking out for me.
This is not your regular spa. So don’t go expecting that. And if you read anything on their site and are expecting that, you shouldn’t be allowed to write a review.
The red light facial is great, and the massage chair you sit in is better than any massage chair I’ve ever experienced. I will say that I’m not a fan of the clearing formula, but I also never have blemishes.
The hydration capsule is an amazing thing. It’s also relaxing. And they offer body wraps that pair with it for skin tightening/​inch loss.
The massage is your typical water massage bed. It’s great when your hungover or tired. Not the best massage, but still wonderfully relaxing.
The red light bed is something I never really understood, but am now totally a believer in. (I’m upset b/​c it’s unavailable right now while they upgrade).
Go in knowing that you’re going to get every sales pitch they can give you… It matters not to me, b/​c I already get everything. :)
Also, make appointments. And when they say you can do it two weeks in advance, take advantage. This nice little secret has been spread far and wide, and just walking in can’t get you much more than a tan now.

My first visit to this location was this afternoon after purchasing a Groupon. I was dreading it because of my experience at other locations (Baton Rouge) and tanning salons in general. Fortunately, my experience was fantastic! My service representative Sarah was so sweet and explained all of the available services to me. In the past this would have annoyed me because I always felt like they were shoving it down my throat but not here. I ended up getting my MysticTan and joining up for a month trial membership. Before leaving another employee, along with Sarah, made sure I scheduled appointments for the week and even pushed me to try a new service or 2 every day. Great experience and I foresee a long relationship with them.

I did the groupon thing and was very nervous after reading many of the reviews. However, my experience was good. The only bad thing is that they did push me buy every extra under the moon and that got annoying. That all being said. I enjoyed the facial and the hydration thing was ok, but not really beneficial to me since I don’t tan. Did not enjoy the water massage. For my second trip I switched out the water massage for the sauna and reallly enjoyed it as well. In summary, the girls working there are super nice. I don’t know if they got a new manager, but the one I dealt with was superb – I wish I could remember her name. Anyway, I feel like I got my money for the groupon and was pleased.

I’ve been coming here for years… staff is always super friendly and prices are awesome. My only gripe is that I wish they’d stay open later. Other than that I love this place and I always recommend it to friends and family.

I bought a Living Social voucher for three services to Planet Beach. The services included a facial, massage and hydration. After reading on the website what that entailed, the massage is done in a chair similar to the chairs at Sharper Image or a nail salon. The facial is a red light facial and the hydration seems like nothing more than an encapsulated sauna. When I called to inquire about everything and make an appointment, the young lady who answered the phone seemed very bothered that I dare ask about the services that her place of employment renders. After reading more reviews about the same voucher, it appears that they push you to buy a $ 25.00 trial size lotion to get maximum benefit out of the hydration station. Really? That’s a hefty price for a trial size. My idea of a good price for a trial sized lotion is $ 0.00, but that’s just me. Of course, (according to the reviews) they will push for you to buy other products and buy a membership, which is to be expected.
After reading the reviews and the attitude I got when I called, I called Living Social and got a refund.
