Pinot’s Palette

I love Pinot’s Palette! They have the best painting selections and provide free plates, utensils, water and wine glasses. The instructors are great but Jason is the best! Only suggestion is to turn down the AC a little. The lights they have + the wine makes it sooo hot! Every location I go to I’m burning up!!! Other than that Pinot’s is awesome. Great date night with the boyfriend or girlfriends! I’ve even done work events there and it works out perfectly

Cool spot! Went here with coworkers for an early evening painting session. Our host with the most, Jason from the Chi was fantastic. I forgot my headphone at home and was freaking out because GOOD music, licka and painting goes hand n hand. Buttttt Jason had music blasting from the ’70– to trill music of the 2000s. Truly enjoyed myself! I felt like Frida Van Gogh with eyes and no uni brow. Lol

Pinot’s Palette was the first wine and paint class I ever went to, and ultimately my favorite of the many variations that are out there now.
The basic premise is you look at the calendar, choose a painting that appeals to you, and show up at the day and time on the calendar. Most paintings are either $ 35.00 for a two hour painting or $ 45.00 for a three hour painting.
You can sign up by yourself, in apair, with a group, or if you have at least 10 people you can sign up for a private party.
There are also couples nights, family nights etc. Fir pet lovers there are classes that cost more, but you send in a photo of your pet and they have it scanned onto the canvas.
The best way to enjoy yourself is to not take it too seriously. The instructor will guide you through your selected painting step by step. There is also usually a second instructor who walks around and will assist you individually if you want instructions on how to do a certain step or changing your painting up.
The paints are already at your station, with all the colors you need to recreate the painting you chose, but you can use the paint carts to alter the colors. The only times I have ever seen someone completely unhappy with their end results were when they expected to have an exact copy of the painting the instructor was doing.
If you look closely though the instructor’s painting doesn’t exactly copy the model painting either, and honestly the individual brush strokes and perspectives are really what makes it neat.
Bring your own wine and snacks and just enjoy the moment. At the very end a group photo is taken and you leave with your painting.
It’s as fun as you are willing to let it be.

A friend of mine suggested we check this place out. Neither of us had ever been to a place like this before so we weren’t sure what to expect. We are both self-​proclaimed artists and notorious drunks, so it was a logical outing for us.
I had a great time! We each brought a bottle of wine and I brought goldfish crackers to snack on. I loved that they had music playing most of the time, and a pretty wide variety of it, at that. They provide the paint and canvas, aprons, water to clean you brushes, etc. They provide bottled water (which I didn’t see.. .), ice for drinks and napkins.
The instructor was informative, jovial and good at keeping the evening upbeat when people would panic or get upset about their paintings. It happened often! PEOPLE, there are literally negative amounts of stress in this situation. Drink your wine. Mess up your painting. Shut up and have a good time!
There were several instances where you could get up and take a break or walk around to see everybody’s paintings. Both instructors would come by at this point and compliment your painting which was a nice touch.
Unfortunately for me, this location is inconveniently far away for drinking a bottle of wine to myself and then driving home.. . (I knocked over my dirty paint water into my goldfish plate which the instructor immediately mopped up for me. Thanks again!) So I doubt I’ll be back to this one, but I’m HOOKED! It was a lovely mental vacation that I really needed.

Went here for date night. It was very fun and comfortable. We brought a few cheeses, hummus, and crackers… As well as a bottle of Pinot. It is a great place to do something different, re-​experience your inner child together as you paint (I forgot how much fun arts and crafts can be), and take home a memory of the night. For only $ 35 per person, this place is entertainment on a budget.
I will definitely be back to try a different painting.

Had a wonderful time at Pinot’s Palette Galleria! Double dating at last night’s class. Some may think it’s a bit pricey but to me it was all worth it! All you will have to bring are alcoholic beverage and snacks for yourself. Everything else is ready for you once you walk in, including laughs and smiles! There were one main instructor and a few that walk around to help. Not sure how many because they were very attentive walking around and I was too busy have a great time! We will be doing this more often!

I’ve always heard of how Pinot’s Palette is so much fun. But I was really disappointed.
The area is big and clean. They set up canvases for you. With paint and everything.
My only problem was our instructor. My roommate and a friend explained that the instructor is more detailed like take two scoops of this color and this color and then mix. My instructor wasn’t very helpful. And I’m not that great at painting.
It would’ve helped me if I had more instruction. I messed up my painting and had to re-​start.
I’m willing to try again and hopefully get a better instructor. I was once a teacher, and I feel the teacher really brings that extra touch to the class.

Came here with my BF via a LivingSocial deal and had a great time. The parking lot is on the small side, but we got there late and it wasn’t a problem. The instructor was cool and took her time drawing some of the trickier concepts on a whiteboard before painting, so the artistically-​challenged amongst us wouldn’t freak out and rage quit. It was my 3^rd experience with a wine + paint class and I was very satisfied with my final product.
I went to a 3 hr class, but I probably wouldn’t do one that long again. There were times where it felt like the instructor was rushing and other times where we were given lengthy breaks (~15 min). I guess they weren’t able to stretch out the lesson to fill the full 3 hr, so the breaks were intended to make up for it. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I went to a 2 hr class at the Montrose location and that one seemed like a better budget of time. Just something to keep in mind.

This was the first Pinot’s Palette location I tried.
I was looking for something creative to give my boyfriend as a birthday present. Since he was an artsy person and I am definitely not, I thought this would be a fun activity. My coworker had recommended it and we came on a Sunday afternoon. I appreciated the fact that they let us buy spots in a «private event». It was a University of Texas college reunion and no one seemed to mind that we weren’t actually a part of the event.
They encourage creativity in general. My boyfriend ended up doing his own thing, not even attempting to do the same painting (which they were totally fine with). I on the other hand, appreciated the detailed explanation step-​by-​step. It helped with my nervousness as I tapped in to my unexplored creative side.
The main reason why I give it 3 stars is because of the ambiance. After visiting other locations in Texas, this one is the most straightforward as far as a business-​ey feeling. I don’t know if that makes sense, but it’s more of a straight-​to-​the-​point, let’s paint attitude rather than «let’s drink and paint!» artsy feel to it.

My boyfriend and I went here for a date night and it was amazing. We had such a great time. I was a little nervous at first because I don’t have an artsy fartsy bone in my body, but the instructors are awesome and the pictures come out great. It’s a very laid back and chill experience. The instructions are easy to follow and if you are in a class with cool/​fun people that makes it even better. Being able to BOYB, food, etc. is a plus. I’d recommend this as a good date night, girls night out, or fun time with anyone that is cool. I’m planning to go back to do another painting.

**quick tip** come early to mingle, eat, drink, pictures. They provide h20, wine glasses, ice bucket for white-​rose wines or champagnes, utensils, plates. They also take pictures of the class, and you can retrieve online for free!
My first painting years ago was at their first location. I believe in montrose or the heights (forgot)
It was a fun get together with my girlfriends enjoying orderves & wino.
However parking sucks.
This is my second time at the galleria location. Staff are friendly, along with great choice of music.
I’m no longer a rookie to these classes, I feel like I’m become a regular… thanks to one of my friend whose been hosting one for the past 2 years.
My first painting was tulips. It was butter sweet for me. my second was pears, which I liked the most, I felt like a artist. Even though my ‘blending’ sucks, I’m still proud to own it.
My third and recent one I painted was the peacock.
I wasn’t fond of it when I saw it, but my friend hosted that for our Xmas event. And sadly, I disowned my painting. The colors they picked made our peacock looked funny, & my peacock’s wings were terrible. I think because I wasn’t fond of the painting. I lost interest & put no effort nor follow instructions in class. It was a 3 hr class. And the entire class, I was waiting for a break.
The 3 hr course, I felt it was too long, it’s probably bc I’m pretty tipsy by then & my painting did not look like Picasso. But it was fun. It was good catching up with my friends & that they enjoyed their work.
The 2 hr course was fast & short.
I would recommend Pinot s palette, but paint something you like! i did do a class at painting with a twist in west chase… I wasn’t impress with the paintings & my class wasn’t fun.

I’ve been here many times and each time I’ve had fun. Great place for date night and girls night. I always have a great time drinking, chatting, and painting at Pinot’s Palette. I really never knew that I paint so well. Haha. It’s like paint by numbers but not really. The instructor shows you and tells you how to paint, which brush to you and once your finished, your art work is a masterpiece. Great place.

Everyone talks about the wine flowing, tis true, but you don’t have to imbibe to enjoy.
Instructor well versed, aprons handed to all, leave the Chanel at home, paint zaps nice threads. The easels are flimsy, more space would be ideal as a knocking over of wine, stunning brie, paints (masterpieces), easels occurs, fortunately the instructor rushed over and saved the day with a large mop.
Would give the place 5 stars but it felt cramped. Music was rockin (apparently playlist designed for the audience prior to the event) music snobs ignored.
For $ 35 you can buy a frame and have instant art to hang! Screw the politics and take your Republican friends and party. Make a memory that lasts until the next election! Zen moments for all, Galleria at 5:00 p.m. and wined down women, hmm, designated driver might be required but Pinots is not a fault. For the price of a not so good pizza and cheap wine you could have been here having a cultural moment.
You whiz right by if your little eye cannot spy. Beats rock climbing for a leadership outing, great bonding with the opposite sex.

This is an enjoyable time every time! I’ve been to Pinot’s Palette three times now, and either the teachers are getting better or I am. Probably the former :) They are so accommodating to groups, individuals, and have a way of ensuring it’s a stress-​free experience while producing an original masterpiece — well, maybe not a masterpiece, but a piece nonetheless that if one has enough liquid encouragement can find it masterful! :) I hope to return with the girls for years to come — — I’m just not sure where to display them all? That’s not a Unilocal issue, though :)

I had an fabulous time drinking, snacking, chatting, and painting away at Pinot’s Palette.
After hearing much rave about the «it» thing to do — drink & paint, I suggested one of my girlfriend to take on this adventure with me. Luckily, she is a foodie like me, we shifted our anticipation and excitement for our upcoming class towards planning our snacks and drinks days in advance. We definitely brought way more snacks we could finish. hehe :)
Once we walked in, we were greeted and instructed to set up in the back area designated for snacks and drinks. With our glasses full and plates of cakes & snacks we found our spot for the class. I was really nervous and anxious about how my painting will turn out since I have never painted before but with the help of easy instructions, fun atmosphere, and drinks, I quickly relaxed and just let my inner artist go. The painting turned out AWESOME! It is now proudly hang in my apartment for everyone else to admire ;)
With the cost of $ 45 per person, most people probably thinks it’s a little pricey, I did so at first too. But I really think it’s worth it. You are not only paying for the canvas/​paint and the lesson, you are paying for a fun and enjoyable experience to share with your girlfriends or whoever you desire.

This is a wonderful place to relax with the girls and let your inner creative beast out with a few bottles of wine. Don’t worry if you think you can’t draw because it will be a grand masterpiece once you are done! I give it a 4 because the instructor that we had was going fast at times and I found myself rushing through steps. Didn’t mess up the painting but I think I could have done better if I had more time.
Everyone gets their own little corner to set down snacks in the back room. Water, wine glasses, and napkins are provided.
Class promptly starts at the designated time, so try not to be late!

The place was not big as expected but I can honestly say that didn’t matter until I started painting!
They offer a spacious kitchen and counters where you can put all the goodies and wines that you brought for the event. It is very clean and organize which is a big plus to me.
My girlsfriends tried out the place. It cost $ 45 per person but it is absolutely worth it. They provide you all the materials that you are going to need for painting and they even have all the wine glasses and plates you may need for the food that you bring. In short, all you need to bring is the stuff you would like to munch in while you paint and yourself!
The instructor is very nice and sweet. Not everyone is a great artist but I guess with a great guidance and instruction from the artist, you will make a pretty painting! Everyone is so sweet and nice and I really enjoyed my experience here. I would like to take my mom and my sister for a family girls night out! I will be coming back again :)
OH! P. S make sure you wear something comfortable and something you don’t mind getting paint on. If you do get a paint on your shirt, asap let someone that works there know and they will solve that for you! ;)

I like how this location is spacious and clean. Big plus.
The instructor was very nice! I meant to write this review awhile back while her name was fresh on my brain but I procrastinated… and now I can’t remember her name for the life of me. She was very friendly and helpful, giving us tips to make our painting look decent while still giving us room to do our thing.
You bring your own wine, but I must advise you: bring food as well! You will get hungry.
It’s $ 45 per person on the weekend (including Friday), and only $ 35 on the weekdays. To sign up for a class, you go to their website, check their calendar and pick out the painting you like the best!
This place is also good for private parties. They have a room in the back (I think it’s called Picasso’s room? I think I’m completely wrong, though) where you can have your own privacy with your group, which may be more suitable for some people.
As far as first dates, I probably wouldn’t. It’s roughly 2ish hours and I’d rather do this with someone I know pretty well or someone I’m not trying to impress. But I did see one or two ‘first date’ couples in the class, so whatever floats your boat!
They update their calendar with new paintings, so definitely check it out from time to time if you don’t find a painting you particularly care for.

This review is conflicting for me. I am a major fan of Pinot’s Palette, I have gone so many times to the location in Montrose. This was the first time I had taken a trip to the Galleria location. This location is much bigger and parking is readily available, two pluses in my book. We attended the Project Pet class last Saturday. While fun, it was disapointing, in that it was not a class but instead we were given a canvas with a printed out picture of our pet, which we had obviously provided ahead of time. I was looking for more instruction– perhaps ideas of how I could paint the background, how to create my dog’s eyes or the look of fur, but instead we were turned loose to do our own thing. It was definitly fun, don’t get me wrong, but I would have liked some more instruction. As always, however, Pinot’s Palette sets to make things right, and after my complaint of too little instruction and more of a free for all with some paint I was given a gift certificate to take another class, which is great with me. The instructors are always nice, the paintings are always cute, and you always have a good time.
Bottom line: if you’re just looking for fun, Project Pet is a good class. If you’re looking for fun AND painting instructions then it is not your best choice.
