This place is delicious. The jasmine tea was good and the almond smoothie was great but I absolutely love the Vietnamese iced coffee and the rockin roll tofu! The food was delicious. The service was mediocre. Hints the 4 stars. However, the staff is nice and if you get their attention they come over quickly. I’m pretty sure this is one of my new favorite places. We ate as a family and it ended up to be around $ 60… Which is kind of a lot but you DO get a lot of food. If you can over look the service and the prices then this place is great. I highly suggest the rockin roll tofu, almond smoothie, jasmine tea, and the egg rolls!

After receiving my phở soup I drizzled what should have been hoisin sauce into the soup. After stirring it around I tasted it, it was extremely salty. That’s when my husband and I realized that it was not hoisin sauce but something else. The staff brought a new bottle of hoisin sauce. I asked for my soup to be replaced, instead they took the soup to the kitchen, drained the broth, left my salty steak in the bowl and added new broth. WTF!!!

I do not visit this area often, but it was the nearest place to grab some lunch after the Tea Festival at UH Clear Lake. The restaurant itself has great interior design, but I think the food and service is only so-so. The waitresses were friendly, but they are not always available. This is not a traditional phở restaurant that serves mainly phở. The menu shows a lot of other rice, fried seafood, po-boys, etc. and other Vietnamese dishes as well. I ordered the chicken phở, and the regular size is $ 8.50. It is a big size for the price, but I would rather have a smaller size instead. I liked the broth used for the chicken phở, but find the noodles kind of thick/hard. The chicken was sliced like deli slices which are very different from other phở places I have tried. I think I like the thicker pieces of chicken more as seen at other phở places. I also ordered the thai tea, which I was extremely disappointed with, and even ask the waitress to exchange for a soybean drink at the same price($ 3). The thai tea was extremely watered down that no tea flavor was there. The soybean drink was from a can, so that was ok. Overall, it was an ok experience, but I’ve had better phở.

Horrific experience. Meal was ruined by a «regular» there, who verbally assaulted us, completely unprovoked. This was to the point where I genuinely feared for our safety. This regular customer is a slightly older man, who we were told comes there all the time and sits by himself, and«likes peace and quiet,» which apparently means«no one is allowed to sit at any table next to him or talk at all.» When we talked to the manager, they defended him, while the rest of the restaurant guests were on our side. The only good staff experience out of this was when I was having a panic attack and crying at my table while my fiancé went to go talk to this rude customer after he left(the guy had an open carry – this is where I feared for our safety. Cuz anyone who’s willing to unnecessarily yell and cuss someone out in public probably wouldn’t hesitate to cause some physical harm as well.) The waitress was standing by me and my friend, attempting to calm me down, and she offered a free dessert or smoothie to make me feel better. The gesture was very sweet, I wish I would have gotten her name, she was cool. But other than that, no effort was made to ease our distress – no discount offered, no anything. We will never go there again, not only for the bad service, but also for fear for our safety. The food wasn’t even that great, aside from the eggrolls, plus it was way overpriced for the food quality. Go to Phô 21 nearby, it’s much better and a much friendlier environment.

Serving a variety of soups including a wonton noodle soup. Broth was tasty and flavorful, vegetables were fresh but wantons fell apart. Rock and roll tofu with rice noodles were good. We have noticed that the tofu and noddles were less than over the years we have been coming here. Service was good but they had to be reminded that fish sauce was served with the Rock and Roll tofu. Well worth the price. Will be back.

I love this place. I go at least once a week. Prices are good and service is fast. I love the fried tofu abd spring rolls. The Jaxmine tea is fresh and from a tea bag. I recommend this place.

I love Vietnamese food but this is a cheap Americanized version that is overpriced. The shrimp toast was alright but it kind of had a Cajun flavor to it. I got the shrimp rolls and they were bland just shrimp roll in wonton paper. Now the kicker is the rice plate. The chicken looks like dog meat. I will be going back. Spring Roll Express is around the corner I’ll take the extra 5 minutes.

Best phở anywhere! Never fails, great service, friendly staff, delicious food that keeps you coming back for years to come. P7 or D7 phở is my favorite. I prefer the grilled pork spring roll, and the plum pork is good.

The service here is on point; I asked a lot of questions about my meal and the waitress answered all of them attentively. I ordered the Korean-styled rice hot pot with tofu and vegetables. This meal was super-filling and worth the $ 11 spent on it. The presentation was appealing as well, which was a plus. There were a lot of tofu pieces and the meal was so savory, I had to make sure it was vegetarian friendly, like twice! There was a fried egg on top, which was perfect! Disappointed that they don’t have any Vietnamese desserts here, though.

One of the more decent phở around Bay Area. I like ordering mine with steak and flank. Best to have it hot after served.

This is my happy food. We always get the large bowl of phở where you can choose 5 different kinds of meat. Me and my wife always choose rare flank, brisket, 2 tendons, and beef tripe in it. And we always get the seafood and the beef spring roll. And oh, the beef with rice too! It is really really good. All around, it is a good vietnamese place. It is better than everyone else.(In regards to Viet food) love it.

The spring roll had one and a half shrimps per roll. At 7 dollars for 3 rolls it is not worth it at all. The fried rice tasted very plain, and it was yellow for some reason. There are better options in the area.

I have been coming to this place over 5 years. The quality and flavors have stayed consistent which is why I can always count on a good meal when I come here! The atmosphere is friendly and laid-back. I love the shrimp spring rolls and the fried tofu phở! My mom loves the steak and brisket phở. My dad loves the combination lo mein. They always provide sauces and plenty of veggies to throw in for added flavor. Try their avocado smoothie or coconut drink for a sweet treat.

The staff here are friendly but the food can be unpredictable. On my most recent visit I ordered chicken spring rolls and brisket phở. The spring rolls(I uploaded photos here) were made with cold cuts! Seriously. I unwrapped one just to confirm — it was lunch meat!!! If you’re serving a spring roll it shouldn’t taste like Oscar Mayer! My phở was tasty although they skimped on basil. It was brisket phở… or was supposed to be… but it was full of gelatinous globs fat. Disgusting. I came here because I had purchased a $ 10 for $ 20 deal via Unilocal… $ 20 worth of food for $ 10 is a good deal, too bad the food itself wasn’t good.

The«Rock –N-Roll Tofu» rocks! My wife loved the«Spicy Plum Chicken»!!! It would appear that the owners are taking note of the negative comments concerning the slow service. The staff was very friendly and the service was very fast. I am very impressed!

They have really yummy food. Rock n roll tofu, phở, tofu spring rolls, vermicelli bowls etc are all excellent. Be advised, the sandwiches are NOT Bahn mi, they are Po boys. The service is frustrating. They never understand our order correctly, we always receive it incorrectly, and at that point I typically don’t bother trying to correct it. I have been coming here for years, and their menu prices has sky rocketed.($ 6.95 for spring rolls should be illegal). They lure you with these groupon deals, coupons, etc. however with their prices, it’s not really a «deal». On one occasion the server refused to take my voucher because she didn’t understand how to verify it and 15 minutes later of quibbling the manager got involved and cleared it. Another time a different server physically took my phone, looked at the voucher, redeemed it, then couldn’t get back to the serial number and tried refusing it. Once again, frustrating service. .If your company is going to use groupons, train the servers on how to redeem them correctly!!!

I’ve been eating here intermittently for about 10 years. It’s not the best Vietnamese food in the world(you can pretty much throw a rock in the Scarsdale/Almeda Genoa area and hit better phở), but it always satisfied on takeout and movie nights. UNTIL. I got the rice hot pot with chargrilled chicken last night and am writing my first Unilocal review just to say how much I loved this. It’s flavorful, has a great mix of textures, and is just really great comfort food. The egg was runny and crispy and with a little sriracha, it was nice and spicy. And it was big enough for me to enjoy twice… awesome. So yeah – after 10 years of ambivalence toward Phở Hoang, I found something amazing and am now a fan. I’ll probably never try anything else since in my experience the rest of the dishes are pretty mediocre, but the hot pot is a winner and one of my new favs. Also the coconut juice – try it.

We went to Phở Hoang yesterday to pick up two noodle soups. The main reason I’m giving such a low rating is that when I got my noodle soup(Crab, Shrimp, and Pork with Clear Noodles) it was lukewarm and basically cold by the time i put in all bean sprouts, herbs, and Sriracha. There was neither any crab meat nor pork. As for the shrimp, there were three halves of shrimp, three tiny halves. The broth was good tho. The only reason I am giving this place any stars at all is that my wife’s soup was delicious. She got the wonton chicken soup with egg noodles. Tons of chicken with delicious wontons. Too bad my Phở was bad. Looks like we will be going across the street from now on. Oh yah! The prices on their website are THREE dollars cheaper than their actual menu prices. That was not cool.

I love the Rock n Roll Tofu. The service is fast and the wait staff are very polite, unlike other Vietnamese restaurants. If you are looking for a good rice plate, I would definitely recommend Phở Hoang. If you are vegan, they have tofu dishes!
