History

Established in 2011.

Our owner, Patti Carter has had pets her entire life and became very interested in pet nutrition. After doing extensive research, she decided it was time educate others. She, with the help of her family decided to open their first pet store in 2006. At the time, it was one of the only Natural Pet Food Stores in the area. Patti stayed ahead of the growing competition by offering new products, attended many trainings, and pet trade shows, and of course provided unsurpassed customer service, all while continuing to research pet nutrition. Five years later in April of 2011, Patti decided to open her very own store, Carter’s Pet Depot #2 in the heart of the memorial area & ever-​growing Energy Corridor.

I’m so glad I found this place. They did a great job on my Yorkie’s haircut and they were so sweet to him! It’s hard to find a good groomer that you trust but I think I’ve finally found one! Courtney was the one to cut my dogs hair and I loved it. You will not be disappointed.

GREAT SERVICE ! 1st time grooming our french bulldog, Angelo was able to take us right away, he did an excellent job with Frankie. 5 stars to him and the entire store, really nice people there .

This place is so friendly and knowledgeable about their products! I have been taking my Minnie to groomer Angelo for years now and we have followed him from 3 shops now! No matter where Angelo is I will continue to take Minnie! He is just that Awesome and Minnie is just that Spoiled! Asked for Angelo you won’t be disappointed

This store has everything you need to keep your pets safe! Tons of dog food, treats, vitamins, and toys. A whole isle dedicated to cats. And even a small section for fish, birds, and small mammals!
Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. If you don’t see what you are looking for on their shelves, they are more than happy to order it for you if they can get it! Grooming is offered seven days a week!

I loved coming to this store to have my dog washed by the lovely ladies that do such a good job. But they keep my old dog too long and he cannot take being left in a hard cage for 4 hours while they do other dogs. Their system is not geared to taking care of one dog at a time. I asked them please tell me when I can come in when you can get my poor old arthritic dog out the fastest. So she makes me an appointment and says she will do him in under 2 hours. After he has been there for over 4 hours, I call and question why the long time and the OWNER lets me know that he no longer wants my business because I complain too much. So, there you have it. This is the kind of people that own this store. Now, I have to go to try another groomer. Very sad, I gave them all my pet supplies and food business. Their loss. He was not a nice man.

Sorry for the long overdue review, but I just couldn’t find the event and forgot to check in that day (silly me).
I visited Carter’s during Unilocal’s Yappy Hour (pt. 2). I came a bit late so I think the crowd had cleared out. The girl at the Unilocal table welcomed us with a big smile and a big pile of Unilocal pins! I probably spent about 10 minutes picking out a few that I liked. Then, I moved onto the donut hole station. Mmm they were good.
I recently trimmed Zooey’s nails myself, but the staff at Carter’s took a look and did a few snips anyways. They were so friendly with her.
The store is well stocked with a variety of pet food, toys, and other knick knacks.
Overall, great event! I hope Unilocal hosts more Yappy Hours in the future. :)

My kids and I went to the Unilocal Holiday Yappy Hour. We had an amazing time. My kids got their picture taken with Santa Claus, their nails trims, was able to mingle with other dogs. The staff was great! I wanted to purchased their dog food here but at the time, they didn’t have what I was looking for. The owner mentioned that they are a smaller specialty store and could order it for me but I don’t work or live near this one so I decline on that offer. Other than that, I do like this store and would recommend this to anyone.

Like this store but it has some pricey items. Owners are friendly and very helpful. Fresh bones and hides offered daily for your dog. Cat toys and snacks are plentiful too.

I came here to sample a locally-​owned pet supply store. Unlike other pet store chains, Carter has all you need. After reading the reviews from its sister store in Spring Branch, I decided to check out on their premium pet foods.
The website vaguely mentioned «cat». So, I brought little hopes. The store clerks were so friendly. I was introduced to Fromm cat food — the oldest cat food manufacturer from Wisconsin. And, there was a whole aisle of cat foods and supplies. «Meow.» My cat loved it and he’s not sharing.
Just so happened it was a doggy party with Unilocalers and a pet adoption booth at the entrance. I wish I lived near here; I’d visit those cute dogs and get some cat treats often.

I came here for Unilocal Yappy Hour with a friend and our other friend’s dog, and I have to say, we had an absolute blast! All of the staff were incredibly nice. Despite the hecticness and overwhelming number of dogs, the staff were patient, professional, and very welcoming. They definitely made the experience great! The shop itself has a great selection of treats and toys for dogs and cats; the ladies trimming pet nails were quick and efficient. And there was an abundance of free treats for all of the pets. Make a pit-​stop here if you’re in the area; your pet will definitely love you for it.

Our family (Jason, Cooley and Rocket) went to the Unilocal event Bark Street this afternoon. This is our first Unilocal event and I’m glad that the whole family was there. Cooley and Rocket each received a bandana with their names, and a bag filled with treats and other goodies. We signed them both up for the free nail trimming.
While we waited for our turn for the nail trimming, we made our way to the snacks section. There is a great selection and we picked up a few items. We also picked up a bag of dry dog food per the recommendation of one of the employees. He seemed very knowledgeable, and patiently answered all my hubby’s questions.
I like how this independently-​owned store operated, and will be taking my dogs here for future grooming and taking advantage of the late pick up hours.

We went to the Unilocal Holiday Yappy Hour and had a great time! My dogs got their nails trimmed for free and the staff was so friendly and helpful. It’s a small place but they carry high quality items and have great customer service. Grooming services for small dogs is $ 45. We will definitely be going back for grooming and all the treats they had!
