Pablo Silva Brazilian Jiu JItsu

My 8 years old son has been going to this school since November 2014. He had no knowledge about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu before. But after 1 week of training, he has fallen in love with BJJ and the school. He always looks forward going to class every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. I highly recommend this martial arts school:
1. excellent facilities — they have a huge open place, plenty of seating areas for parents. The mat is clean & with high quality, safe environment, I don’t worry about my son falling down or getting hurt.
2. well-​designed program — Professor Silva is a BJJ black belt and no doubt about it he has the skills, knowledge, and experience. The program itself is well-​designed. It starts with a 10 minutes warm up. It usually consists of jogging, spat, push up, obstacle course, rollings, or even dodge ball games. Some things that the kids usually likes. Then it follows BJJ technique and drill. It always ends with a 10-​minute live training. My son loves the live training. That is the time he can really put his skills into practice. From what I see the kids at school love taking down and submission skills.
3. small class, lot of attention — They have two kids classes. One for small kids and other for big kids. Each one has about 12 to 15 kids. Besides Professor Silva, they always have at least 3 other adult coaches helping Coach Miguel, coach Jordon, and coach Dawlett are always there to teach the kids. So it is about 1 teacher to 4 students. It is pretty close to one-​on-​one training! Each student has plenty of time to drill and the attention they need from the coach.
4. a true bully-​proof class — you can see the kids in class are energized and confident. Professor and the coaches make sure the kids know the techniques are not easy. They take their time to teach them and let the kids master the skills by practicing numerous times with the coaches and with the other kids. Once they get the skills, the kids feel confident and feel good about themselves. They know they have worked hard and have learned something other kids do not know. Professor also teaches the kids following the rules on the mat and respecting the coaches and other students. You can see the kids there are quite well behaved.

I’ve trained with several other coaches at other schools. Pablo is one of the best coaches I have trained with. He wants his students to learn and creates a good environment for learning. He tailors his teaching for the student and works hard to develop their skills.
He is a student of bjj and is always learning and teaching the latest techniques. He also is very good about teaching, he doesn’t hold back techniques and wants his students to grow and get better. He competes as well and he teaches what he uses in tournaments. Pablo is not a large person so all of his teaching focuses on very detailed techniques that can be applied regardless of the person’s size or strength.
Everyone at the school is friendly and welcoming to new students. He also has a strong group of women training, competing and winning tournaments. While there is a focus on training for competition, the person seeking to get into better shape by training for fun or learning self defense will also find his school a great fit for their needs. There is no pressure to compete if one is not interested.
I am very happy to have found Pablo’s school and can’t recommend him enough to new student or people who are looking to take their jiujitsu to much higher level.
Also, he is also an IBJJF black belt world champion having competed at the highest levels of jiujitsu in the world and winning first place.

My 13 year old went to her first free class today and enjoyed it. The staff are all very welcoming, professional and personable. Pablo Silva is the 2010 world black belt champion. He is involved in all the classes which is awesome! The facility is brand new and very nice. The location is very convenient and easy to find, that is one of the reasons I signed my daughter up. After watching her class, I may have to sign up myself. I highly recommend this place for all your Jiu Jitsu needs.
