So, in spring/summer 2009 my now-husband and I were planning an Indian-themed wedding reception in Austin, but living in Galveston. We quickly found out that Houston was a much better place to find the stuff we needed for our wedding than Austin was. We ended up visiting Namaste twice to buy things for our wedding. We bought a set of bangles for me, two individual Ganesh statues, some Ganesh table centerpieces, and a large wooden picture of Ganesh. They had a wide selection of jewelry and decorative items at a wide selection of prices. If we’d known about this store/neighborhood sooner, we wouldn’t have ordered so much of our wedding stuff online beforehand. The staff were always very helpful to us. We didn’t feel that they were annoyed that people of a different culture wanted to include some Indian elements in their wedding celebration. On our second visit the guy at the register asked us if we did yoga, and when we responded in the affirmative, he recommended a yoga instructor in the Austin area. Cool all around!
