This place did fabulous work on my clothing items. Same-​day service as promised, competitive pricing, and conveniently located in midtown. I highly recommend!

Midtown Cleaners has been our dry cleaners for at least five years, and they always provide excellent service and deliver that service flawlessly. Sounds like a backhanded compliment, I know, but they’ve never damaged any of our clothes — which is obviously the most important standard in selecting a dry cleaners.
Their service is almost always next-​day. They’ve even helped us out a couple times when we’ve needed a rush service for an out-​of-​town trip, etc. They were once nice enough to make an exception and stay open ~5 minutes late so I could pick up a much-​needed suit for a wedding i was attending in DC that weekend.
Overall: highly recommended!

The staff is REALLY nice but I’ve thrice gone to pick up clothes only to be told they weren’t yet back. Far from same-​day, this is more like 3+ day service. Also, the building has an odor like stale cigarettes.

First off, this review is long overdue. I’ve been taking my dry cleaning to Midtown Cleaners for about 8 months, first because of the convenience of the location and thereafter because I was pleased with the friendly customer service, turnaround time, and prices. I have had the need for alterations during that period: first, to take in a new blazer pretty much everywhere (sleeves and back) to make it fit well; then, to three evening gowns I had purchased around Thanksgiving; then, to hem some jeans. On all occasions, I have been completely and unreservedly satisfied and pleased with the results, the turnaround time, and the cost. The female owner — I am not sure of her name — is sweet and funny and always makes me feel like a neighborhood friend when I go in for drop-​offs and pickups. The fact that I have a very skilled tailor built in to a dry cleaning business is a win-​win — I’m all for all-​in-​one shops where I can get as many of my needs fulfilled in one spot as possible. Highly recommended and will continue to be my go-​to for all my dry cleaning and tailoring needs.

Quick turn-​around, quality work at a reasonable price. I really appreciate the time they take to attach dry cleaning tag to the clothes with a safety pin instead of stapler as I am used to.
The staff is really nice and helpful. I like that I can literally drop my clothes in the mornings and then pay and when I pick up. Makes getting to work and running errands a little more easy on those early mornings.

I went there 1 – 2 times per year consistently. Then they took a whole bag of my dress shirts and did not record my name. I came in asking for my clothes and they couldn’t find them and blamed me for the issue. They did not record drop off dates or anything that could be used to find my stuff and basically told me I was out of luck. I told them I was not leaving without my clothes so they «allowed» me to sit in back for an hour looking at each bag for my stuff but it was not there. Apparently they gave it to somebody else or just stole it. 1 star for costing me $ 1000 worth of clothes. Don’t risk it.

I lived in Houston for 3 years. I always went to Midtown Cleaners. They did a great job. The clothes were always perfectly pressed. Very reasonable prices. The service was quick — I generally picked even large orders up the next day. A great choice for you dry cleaning needs in the midtown area.

I would never recommend this business.
I went in to get 4 expensive shirts tailored.
I have a slightly larger upper body and thinner waste, so I usually just buy shirts that fit up top and just have the waist brought in, simple enough right?
Well, not at Midtown Cleaners.
I specifically asked them not to touch the sleeves or chest area and to just bring in the waist. When the lady was putting in the pins to mark where to alter she was sloppy and seemed confused. That should have been my cue to run out of the door.
There is also no real «changing room.» There is simply a closet sized room with a mirror that was already half filled with dry cleaning bags.
I dropped them off early on a Monday morning and was told they would be ready by Friday. I was told to come back on Saturday at 1:30 to pick them up even though they close at 3.
When I finally got my shirts back I tried them on once I got home…
Not only were the waists hardly brought in at all, but they had tightened the chest so much that to extend my arms I felt like it could possibly rip.
The absolute worst part however, is the fact that they tightened the sleeves so much that I can barely squeeze my arms through making putting on a tie literally impossible. It would be a stretch to imagine that I might be able to bend my arms enough to drive my car, type at my desk, or take a drink from a cup.
Do not go here for any alterations.
I have gone to another tailor in Midtown before but decided to try this place since it is a little closer to my house. Biggest mistake I’ve made since I moved to Houston 6 months ago.
I am going back tonight to see if I can get any money back for my ruined shirts, If they are reasonable and willing to work something out I will update this review to note as such, as this would be a redeeming quality. After reading these other reviews, however, I am very doubtful that they will.

Two weeks after initially dropping off my shirts I was finally able to talk to the lady who originally marked my shirts for tailoring.
They had their tailor let the shirts back out so that I could at least fit in them.
All of the shirts were the exact same cut and material and yet they all turned out vastly different.
In the end, I received the money that I paid them for their services and the shirts back.
The shirts’ seams are no where near the quality they were before and I still need to get the waists brought in.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plaque.
And to those of you possibly thinking, «oh this guy is blowing it out of proportion,» I promise I’m not but feel free to get your nice clothes ruined.

They shrunk my dress shirt by a good 3 – 4 inches and blamed me & my shirt for the problem. They were unwilling to fix/​credit the shirt. This place does a great job (I’ve been loyal for years) but the way they treated me I will never come back. It’s unfortunate for them because me and my gf spend over $ 1,000 per year and there is a dry cleaner on every corner… Time to find a new dry cleaner!

Here’s my first impression. I would not recommend this place as they do not SEEM to car about their customers or potential customer.
I went in to inquire about pricing and asked for a pricing sheet. They do not have one. I asked how much it would cost to dry clean a shirt and slack. I was given so many prices for the same items. When I tried to clarify, she threw in other prices. Here’s the quote as far as I can remember:
«dress shirt 1.39, if you have dress pants/​slack, the pants is 1.39, if you both slacks and shirt, the shirt is 1.59 and pants is 3.59. if you have only dress shirts it 1.59, 1.79, pants 3.79».
I am not kidding. This was the explanation of pricing from the owner regarding my pricing inquiry. For those of you who love this place, I need some of your money. Apparently you have too much to care.

One of the better cleaners that I have been to in Houston. It is a family run business and they entire staff is super friendly. They are on my way to and from work and have worked wonders on my clothes.
They open early in the morning (6:30am) and provide same day service, for no extra cost, if you ask them. This has been a life saver for me.
They also have done some alterations on a few of my jeans for a reasonable price.

Thanks Midtown Cleaners. I moved to Houston a month ago and have been looking for a decent cleaners. Fast service and good quality. Prices are a little high but worth it compared up other cleaners in Midtown.

Midtown Cleaners is my go to spot for dry cleaning in the Midtown area. They are open on Saturday and usually on a week day have everything done by the next day. The owners are nice, they once kept the doors open past 6:30 for me on a day I was running late.

I have been a customer for a little over 4 years now. The cleaners is located near a Subway, which is very convenient when running errands on my lunch break. As a customer I have had no problems, my shirts and suits are always done on time. Parking can be crowded at times, especially around lunch time and right before they close at 6:30. The prices rival others in the neighborhood, so no gripes here.

I am in upper management in the Oil and Gas field. I do a great deal of drycleaning while in town and in hotels alike. Really, the place was «ok/​average» but their customer service is quite lacking. They are pleasant and polit as long as you dont need anything. Anytime you have a special request or issue, forget about it. I was using the place for a while purely out of convenience since I drive by it daily. (though their hours of operation are terrible if you have a career, and I could only get their before work since it closes at 6pm).
HERE IS THE BIG PROBLEM:
This month one of my suits came back damaged. There was a small hole in the pants with a snag going lengthwise down the pant leg. I had not taken it out of the drycleaning bag yet when i saw it. Unfortunately I was out of town on a weekend trip at the moment, and this was the only suit I brought. So, i wore it to the wedding as it was not terribly noticeable in the dark fabric.
Upon return, i brought it to the store. They took the position that they will not accept responsibility since I left the store with it. In other words, they expect you to take all your drycleaning out of the bags and inspect it all before leaving the store. Ironically, they claim they have a triple redundant inspection of all garments as they do not accept damaged clothes. Hence they admit it was undamaged when it entered the store. This argument only hurts their case. the only argument they could have made is that it happened before i dropped it off but i did not notice. I know 100% certain it left the store with this damage, so the only conclusion is they confirm they did the damage but refuse to accept responsibility. This is a $ 1,400.00 suit so this was not good news to hear, but hence worth a moment to warn off others.
The place is family run by an asian couple maybe around 50 and their son in his twenties. I think their approach to customer service is maybe coming from abroad as they do not seem to understand the American levels of expectation from a business provider. I would avoid them at all costs as they cannot be trusted with your clothing (as indicated in the other reviews you will read on here, except family friends).
I would recommend the place to all of my competitors in the oil field. Please use them and i will see you with ripped pants on the convention floors soon :)

I’ve been going to this cleaners since 2008 (three years) because it was on my way to work and they had great hours. Let’s face it, dry cleaning is a commodity so the rock star service and smile better be there if the price is not low. These guys are fast, but the prices are absurd. They ought to start offering complimentary bloody mary’s or mimosas because the high priced bill I got made it seem like a bachelorette party bar tab anyway.

The reason the other two reviews differ so much it’s because the quality of this business has really suffered in the last year or so. We’ve been going here for the last 4 years. At first it had everything going for it, the price was great, the hours are super convenient, the clothes turned out excellent, both laundry and dry cleaning. I don’t know what has happened in the last year, but the quality is starting to suffer. Either they have too much volume to pay attention to detail or some of the people working are not as good as they used to be. If you just drop off your clothes w/​out separating laundry from dry cleaning, they won’t check the labels and ruin some of your garments. My husband’s work shirts keep getting the fabric torn when they press them. The detail on sweaters (beads, buttons, lace) keep getting ruined. If you ask them to spot-​treat a stain, you have to insist and repeat it, maybe even ask them to put tape on it, or it’ll come back w/​out being done. Worst of all, the treatment you get when you bring up the problem is just rude and no matter what they compensate you, you are out of a garment and time. The attention to detail and quality check now falls to the customer instead of the store, which can get really really tedious if you use them a lot (we drop of 20+ garments every week). Before moving to Houston, I used the same cleaners in Austin for over 5 years and only once had a mistake — you get to rely on a good place that can take care of your clothes. @ Midtown Cleaners, the hours they are open are still some of the most convenient of any of the dry-​cleaners in the area and the prices are still good. But if you are a frequent patron, spend some time looking around for back-​up stores and be ready for a few upsets.

I had the complete opposite experience of the first reviewer. Midtown cleaners is a total ripoff! My husband and I dry clean a lot of Indian clothing with heavy beadwork (think prom dress or wedding dress type detailing). Since these are very expensive, one of a kind pieces, we always make sure to ask any new dry cleaner if they have experience with Indian clothing. After our wedding in India, my husband and I had a ton of Indian clothes that needed dry cleaning. My husband sent some of the clothes to Midtown cleaners. Off the bat, they told us they were uncomfortable with dry cleaning some of the pieces. Completely fine by us, we’d rather take them back dirty then to have them ruined forever. They did say they could clean the rest of our clothes. However, when we returned to pick up our clothes, we saw that most of the stains on our clothing hadn’t even been touched. And we’re not talking about major stains, just stains that occur during normal use. When we asked the person at the counter why the stains weren’t removed, she had the nerve to say that they didn’t have experience with this type of clothing and couldn’t guarantee the stain removal. AND she said that since they had tried three times to remove the stain, they would have to charge us three times for their effort. Really? Did I authorize you to run my clothes through the dry cleaning chemicals three times? I don’t think so! The receipt confirmed an extra «miscellaneous» charge was added to our bill. We were furious, but ended up paying the bill and leaving because they were starting a commotion. Don’t trust Midtown cleaners with your clothes – you’ll get them back dirty and will be charged thrice for it!

By far the best cleaner I have seen in Houston, as well the best I have seen in the past 3 places I’ve lived. Very inexpensive, pays attention to detail, and treats your clothes as if they were their own (ie, not writing on your damn shirts with a Sharpie?!? — still bitter about this. Read my Walnut Creek review). Quick turnover, standard is: in by 8am, out by 5pm the next day but they can get it done quicker if needed. Again, nicest people you will ever meet. My car died outside their shop, and after trying to jumpstart it, the owner gave me a ride to work. You can be sure I’ll take my clothes here every single time. A++ !!!
