i picked up my car there tonight without a hitch. these guys do seem to troll people who call in and are all pissed off and yelling at them. if you act calm, they wont f with you.

I’m going to tell you a scary story.
Imagine you’re stranded in the rain with no way of getting home. Your phone is acting crazy because the rain is pounding down as you try to make a phone call. When someone comes to your rescue, you’d think this would end the nightmare, but no the story has an interesting twist… let me start at the beginning.
Friday evening, I was making my way to attend a UYE at MKT when I was hit in the intersection of Austin and Dallas out the blue. Soon as the accident occurred, the severe thunderstorm that the meteorologist promised ACTUALLY HAPPENNED (imagine that)! Sheets of rain came down emphatically leaving me soaked and sore in downtown Houston without transportation and no one off the top of my head to contact that could pick me at this of the day. The wrecker that made it to the scene first named Richard that works with Metro Auto Storage was my life saver and is the only reason this place actually earns one star – and not by default. He was willing to take pictures of my vehicle when my phone was acting like it was malfunctioning and let me sit in his truck until my ride came to pick me up, which was at least an hour. Most wreckers would have towed your ride to the lot with your stuff, moving on to the next victim, I mean vehicle. Ironically, I found out that he use to go to my church. Maybe that’s why I received the unlikely customer service. You’d think this story might end on a happy note, but wait for it…
Since the accident occurred Friday evening, nothing could be done until Monday. With the run around with the insurance company and the body shop, the last thing I needed was to not be able to contact the storage place. I was given the card by Richard and distinctly told to give the number on the card to the company to setup the pickup. .
The number not only goes to voicemail, the voicemail is full.
This placed me into panic mode. Started looking the place up online after reading the mostly negative Unilocal reviews, especially the one by Farrah who mentions that she found a swisher sweet and somebody’s dirty draws in her car after being hassled by this «business.»
WTH? Dude, WHERE IS MY CAR?! and what are people doing inside of it?!
Never fear, my left braininess is here! Decided to look at the wrecker slip where I found a different number listed from the whack business card the wrecker gave me. Called it and it was busy. Good sign right? Called it until it started ringing and a rough and raspy male voice stated Metro real quick. I politely told the person the reason for my call and the line goes silent. I can’t hear anyone breathing, coughing, laughing. For two minutes I’m saying hello multiple times. I finally look at the phone furious and hang it up after declaring a nice two syllable word starting with an a. Luckily, I chose a body shop who used a wrecker service who knew how to deal with these people and was able to get my vehicle out of there that same day.
All this and I never laid an eye on these people or their establishment. You’d think that would bother a business owner with such negative reviews – even an F rating by the BBB. Evidently, whoever owns this business likes to take advantage of people and their time.
Best advice: Don’t use their wrecker service. Ask for someone else or establish a relationship with a local wrecking service if you’re in need of a voluntary tow. However, if you’re vehicle is towed without your knowledge and you find out that this wrecker service has it on their lot, whoa is you! Good luck! Take a crew with you when you roll out there. You might get lucky and they give up your ride. Hopefully it doesn’t have remnants of somebody’s late rendezvous for you to clean up and view! Hopefully, it doesn’t smell like somebody’s rendezvous too!

The worst people you will ever meet. If you get towed here, might as well know you will be called a smartass and get cards thrown at you.

I was lucky enough to have my car towed to this lovely skidmark of a business. When I initially called these people to confirm my vehicle had indeed been been brought here, I was immediately met with a harsh rudeness that seemed really unnecessary and out of place. By simply asking the woman on the other end to repeat what she had just said to me, I was asked to «get away from that and call back later». I apologized for not being able to get away from «sounds» as I was stuck in downtown Houston, a city I don’t even live in, and with no car I could escape to for a more pleasurable listening experience. This peach of a human then informed me that my wife, who was three hours away at the time, is the only one who can pick the car up since it is registered to her and not me. This lady could care less if I ended up stranded in Houston, and made sure I knew that by continuing to spew her spit-​laden vitriol into the phone. Thankfully, I carry critical documentation with me, and had a copy of my insurance card. I could sense that this lady was a little let down that she couldn’t ruin another poor soul’s week.
I don’t think I would have had a problem with dealing with the situation and moving on, had this employee possessed a single shred of decency as a human being. Instead, it was obvious that, while I cannot speak for anyone else here, this particular individual gets her jollies by acting cruel to others.
My car sat here less than a single hour. $ 230 dollars. You guys are not only bloodsucking leeches, but rude ones at that. I wish you all the best in your legal thieving ventures.

OMG these people are so rude!!! I don’t mind paying what I need to pay but explain to me what I’m paying!!! Don’t just throw out a number and don’t expect people to ask what were the extra stuff that was not told to you on the phone. The lady there whatever her name is is so rude!!! I don’t care if your husband beats you that’s why your rude but people need to know what the number you throw out means. And for the ones giving them more than one star, you are the owner of the place and your false reviews are not fooling anyone. I looked up the reviews before I went there and thought these ppl were just mad they got towed but then I actually had to go there and they are 100% correct. Y’all suck at customer service, I hope everywhere you go you receive the same type of service cuz y’all deserve it. I was told to park in the wrong place and got towed so I’m not actually paying from my money so I could care less because people will think I’m mad I’m losing money so take that out the equation…

I had the best towing experience in my life. This place is full of wonders I got my car towed and maybe lost 225.80 dollars but I won more valuable friends. a talking Roach and our friend Sonbol Sonbol sonbol, they are friendly, wise, and how can I forget, helpful. When I arrived there I thought to myself DAMN IT I’M GOING TO HIT SOMEONE But when I spoke to them I completely changed my mind, in fact, I wanted them to hit me of how kind and generous they were. I was towed because I left the property, but I would fucking leave the property again just to witness their sexiness aaaaaaaah! And above all that they accepted dept card I mean talk about LOVE aaaaaah! Ay ye ye ye! The only thing bothered me is that I am not pregnant with their child.

This place is amazing the staff are great especially Omar haha and Mohammed ohh he is a fucking psychic he can tell the future by getting mad

Unfortunately this foul place is where you will end up if you get shystered on a weekend by the fly bastards who tell you ‘It’s OK to park here buddy’ then call in the tow truck lowlifes who grease their palms with filthy lucre. …
I want to rain down so hard on the Metro Auto Storage maggots that it would need a team of air crash investigators to reassemble them.
Karma dictates that the trolls that perpetuate this evil business model are going to Hades in a handcart for the needless pain they bring.

These people are thieves. Very disrespectful.

These people do not deserve the one mandatory star the site is making me give them. I have never been treated so poorly in my entire life. I made the mistake of parking in a lot owned by a particular pub and got towed, but that’s not my beef with this company.
When I called the number on the sign to ask about my car, they were immediately rude. I tried to ask the basis and who to talk to about disputing it and he started cursing at me. I couldn’t believe he was dropping the F bomb with me!!! So I go inside the pub, clearly upset, and the bartender talks to them. She also couldn’t get more information out of him. Finally we were able to get an address after several nasty comments. At this point I had him on speaker phone for proof with how he was talking and treating me. I got the address and he said that it was 87.86 to get my car out. Two other people sitting with me heard that too. So I get a friend to come pick us up and bring us there.
When we arrived, I walked up to the bullet proof window and asked for my information, I gave him my license and asked for his name and he said it would be on the receipt, I asked him why he couldn’t just give it to me and he responded with «I don’t have to give you sh*t.» I couldn’t believe this guy still had the guts to talk to me that way! So then he tells me the total and it’s 100 dollars more. I didn’t even argue, the guy was clearly a psycho and it wasn’t worth getting into another verbal spar with. He hands me my keys and I ask for the receipt and wanted to see his name on it. He holds up a folded piece of paper and says it’s on here. I ask him to either 1) hand it to me or 2) hold it against the window so I can see his name. He told me he will but I need to calm down, I was actually pretty calm with how I was being treated. He hands me the paper and his name is in cursive at the bottom and can’t be read, when I asked him what it was, he said that it was my fault because I don’t listen. I told him to just open the gate, I was done with him.
I go to my car and started it and get a knock on my window from that same guy (I should have opened the door really fast by *accident*, a broken nose would have done him good!) where he progressed to tell me that I don’t listen and that he is just a third party and that if I would shut up and listen I would get further in life. I was so livid. I didn’t say a word, I simply said «please step away from my car so I don’t run over your foot» he stepped away and out I drove.
I obviously didn’t have a choice but to deal with these jerks, but whatever you do DO NOT CHOOSE THEM AS A BUSINESS!!! If you wreck your car, you get a choice usually on where you want it. Memorize this places name and run the other way. They are crooked and scummy. It was the worst car experience I have ever had, and if you know me, you know that’s quite an accomplishment!

I am not even going to waste my time writing a full review they have already wasted more than enough of my time. All I got to say is SHAME ON YOU! Agreeing with the last review, you people are SCUM and SNAKES! I hope one of those cars you tow gets loose and runs over your foot!! HA!

These people are scum.
It was circa summer 2006 when my car was towed from a Starbucks parking lot. Completely my fault, so that’s not the reason for the one-​star rating or initial insult. When I finally found out where my car was towed after 3am, I made it over to their field. Paid my money, showed them my drivers license and appropriate papers. Then … oh mah gah. Couldn’t find my car key! Since I already paid the $ 180+, if I wanted to keep the car in their unit, I was going to be recharged the towing and storage fee! Eff that. (Keep in mind that it’s 4am in the hood and it’s me and one other female in club-​gear.) After *begging* the sadistic jerk-​off (who was laughing!) in his tin office with bulletproof windows to release my vehicle, he ordered a towman to move my vehicle to the outside street. Cool, I can come pick it up when I find my key. Well, this second piece of shiz parks my rig in the MIDDLE of the street. Really? So I bet if I leave, you’ll just tow it BACK inside and recharge me two hundred dollars, right? Man, how they play mind games and really test your temper. Thank gah I’m not a licenced handgun owner or else something would have really gone down (showing my true colors, right?). So I find another tow guy who works at an adjacent auto storage facility, and he agrees to properly move my car to the side of the street for 20 bucks. Deal. Moments later, I find my key in my friends car who took me up there. Whoops. But still, these guys are crooks.
Now look at present day. After my car wreck a few weeks ago, Brownie was sent to this dump. I *knew* drama would ensue. First off, when on three-​way with their office person and the insurance company, we asked if they could put tarp on the broken window just in case it would rain. Didn’t know if the vehicle was a total loss, but if it wasn’t I didn’t want more damage done to my baby. They agreed (but later saw that they didn’t do it.) I went up there after a few days after the accident to unload my car of all my work stuff. And we’re talkin’ about heavy stuff: boxes, chairs, a tent. I roll deep in Unilocal,y’all. I ask the guy working the front if I could pull my rental through the gates and up to my car. It was 100 degrees outside! He said no. Alright, after my first trip, he must’ve noticed that I indeed had a lot of stuff to move, so said that could roll my car on through, but «be quick,» he said. Okay, I guess that’s where they earn the mandatory one star.
Then I go up there with my dad to release the vehicle and sign it over to Progressive. Signing this legal document, the same guy in the office says that he can’t give me a copy. No answer. I ask him if he didn’t want to spend the two cents it cost for the paper; realizing what a cheap-​o/​lazy-​a was, he stated that they didn’t have a copy machine. Really? You own a business, dealing with forms, receipts, and legal documents and no copy machine? HAH! I call BS on that. So I refuse to release my vehicle to Progressive and call to explain the sitch. The agent over the phone is flabbergasted at Metro’s lack of professionalism… and then asks me to take a camera phone picture of the document. Um, no ma’am. She later resolves it over the phone and I don’t have to go back up there and deal with that awful man.
Other things that made me scratch my head:
Cleaning out my car, I found a pair of women’s pink shorts, a dirty white tee and a pair of men’s whitey tighties on the floor in my back seat. What in the ham sammich happened from the time my car got towed to then? And guess what else I found? A butt from a sweet! Yeah. That was up front by my cigarette tray. I’m not a smoker – of any sorts!
I’m sure this story is *nothing* compared to what many others have gone through with Metro Auto Storage. I do understand that this is a business and they are there to make money, and yes, people park illegally and thus are rightfully towed. But there’s this thing called common courtesy. These guys go out of their way to make other people raise tempers and intensify situations. Sorry if you hate your job guys, but maybe it’s time you open up the Green Sheet and find something new.
