I am insane when it comes to getting the best for my dog. He is my child. I trust this place 100% with my fur baby because they are professional & from the looks of it they hire energetic people who seem to come to work and want to play with my dog! He stayed here for boarding over the weekend recently & came home perfectly happy & healthy. He also did daycare last week & it was SO adorable when I saw the little report card that listed his new fur friends he made that day hahah. I love this place. Wish they had larger capacity because often times they are booked up but I guess that’s because everyone wants the best for their pets!

We are not from Houston and have no family here, therefore, we try to travel back home to the midwest at least every 3 – 4 months on top of a few weekend getaways a year. Finding a place close to home that I trust to take care of my dog is a MUST and I take it very seriously. I genuinely felt the staff here cared for my little Rocky when we boarded him a couple of weeks ago. They took the time to talk to me and get all the information available for Rocky’s care for the weekend — he has been having some skin problems due to allergies and I was worried to leave him in case in got worse. They assured me they would check him every day and put in a note to only take him on turf grass since his allergies appear to be seasonal and outside allergies — I really appreciated it! He did doggy daycare the first day and did some play sessions the next day — they called me on his first day to let me know how he did and that he was happy. This made me feel 10x better leaving him — I love to get updates. When I came to get him, they had all of his things ready, he was bathed, and seemed genuinely happy and like he had a good time. He can be really shy around strangers and he seemed to warm up to the staff nicely. The place can be a bit pricey compared to other places, but I would come back just because of the staff! I really felt Rocky was well cared for and I was glad to know a place would look after his allergy/​skin issue and call me with any concerns if it got worse. Definitely recommend!

We’ve had a great daycare & boarding experience here. I do wish small & large dogs were separated the entire day of daycare. Grooming is good, perhaps a bit overpriced for the region. Staff is helpful & polite. Our dog goes bananas when we arrive there — she loves it!

I wish I could write a review based more on experience with the facility and the interactions of all of the staff instead of just with one person.
I called to get an estimate on overnight boarding for about a week. The woman who I was speaking with was very nice but could not take no for an answer. She asked me all my specific information including mailing address, email, pets name, etc. I realize they need some info on my dogs but telling them the breed and weight should be good enough. Not for her! I told her that if I decided to book with them that wouldn’t be a problem, but I was told, «Unfortunately, we cannot give out pricing and availability without making a file for you». Well I guess she changed her mind because she then went into an obviously pre-​written/​practiced speech about how they are #1 rated by vets and clients, they are owned by a Houston-​native, blagh, blagh, blagh. Extremely fake. Definitely not the kind of people I want taking care of my animals.
I’m sure they are a very nice facility but how can I believe that when I call to check on my dogs that they are going to tell me the truth about how my dogs are doing & not what they think I want to hear? I don’t think that is a company that can be trusted.

Based on the other reviews this must be a really great place. But they must have enough clients and don’t need any new ones. I placed two calls to them last week about boarding and training my dogs. They have not bothered to return my calls.

Left our slightly anxious cocker here for five nights. Got a call to let me know he was adjusting well and a detailed report upon pickup on his stay. Employees seemed to genuinely care about him. He seemed at ease with them. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Still my favorite daycare. I miss these guys!!! My dog was the happiest when it was daycare day. The open fields, playgrounds, sprinklers, pools, it was her dream come true! They love and cared for my baby and although it’s been almost 2 years, if I came back to visit, I know they’d remember my little Shasta!
Added value to the place — they give you report cards every day and tons of pictures everyday are posted. They are the best in Houston.

I took a tour of Meadowlake on my last trip to Houston and was impressed the facility. The staff were all happy and upbeat; they all seemed to really love working there and it was quiet. I know that when I enter a pet resort as large as meadowlake and hear very little barking, that they run a great operation where dogs are being taken care of by professionals.

Best full service pet resort around.

I took my 8month old french bulldog here to go through some basic training. I was having problems with him in my apartment and we both had a bit of separation anxiety. The week long camp worked like a charm. I was able to leave him there and call every day for updates. The exit training helped me understand some things I was doing wrong and how I should alter them to gain his respect and trust. The staff adored him as much as I do and upon bringing him home I knew it was the best decision I could have made. He and I are both much happier and better behaved after the training. I also loved that they were extra cautious with any special requests I may have had and they give you lifetime support with some of the packages. That type of security in the quality of training gave me the piece of mind I needed to leave my little man there for an entire week. It was well worth the time without him and the money.

I had boarded one of my rescues with Meadowlake, previously, so I was very excited when I adopted another rescue, to bring them both there when I needed to travel for Halloween. The check in process took almost 30 minutes due to them not having everything prepared in advance, despite me having booked the reservation 2 weeks in advance.
I left very strict instructions with the front desk to remove my ex-​husband from my account and to deny access to my dogs, unless I was present. Upon picking my dogs up, I found out that my ex-​husband had been allowed to visit my dogs while in Meadowlakes care. None of the staff members thought to inform me that my dogs had received a visitor, nor did the front desk check my account to see if he should have been allowed access, in the first place.
Due to their staffs’ inability to follow instructions, potentially endangering my dogs, I am unable to positively recommend Meadowlakes. Nor will I ever place my dogs in their care, again.

I love Meadowlake and so does Chewy. It is dog heaven! Their staff is extremely nice and very attentive to detail and another plus is that their facility is clean. We come here to get Chewy groomed every 1.5 months.
They also have lodging and training classes!

Just want to share how happy I am with the grooming service provided to my dog! Can’t wait to bring him in for day care and lodging! A great facility, clean, cosy and with great staff! Worth the drive if you are not in the area! Thank you and keep up the good work!

A+ to Meadowlake Pet Resort if you want only the best for your dogs. We have FOUR large dogs that are not the easiest to care for. Prior to their 3 week (yes, three week) stay at Meadowlake, they had NEVER been away from us, and had severe separation anxiety. I was very nervous and scared for my dogs and didn’t want to leave them for even a single night. The day we had checked them in, the check in time ended at 7pm. We were over an hour late and the front desk ladies stayed behind for us and waited on us to get the dogs checked in. We called almost every day to check on our dogs and received very detailed reports of how they were doing and acting the entire time. I was very scared that they would not eat or not have good appetites since they had never been away from us before, but when we checked them out they all looked just as healthy as when we had checked them in. I was a bit nervous that the dogs would have a hard time adjusting to being back at home after three weeks away, but I am truly surprised because they are being EXTREMELY well behaved since being back at home. I know that they were being socialized and given a lot of attention as well when they were staying with Meadowlake. When we arrived back in town we had a few visitors over, normally our pups go crazy and jump all over everyone, but they are being very calm, not jumping, and allowing people to just pet them without going nuts. WOW! I can’t say enough good things about this place. The 22 night stay cost us $ 3,000 with 8 play dates, and the pet care warranty for four dogs. This might seem like a lot to some but I would happily do it again knowing my dogs are being treated so well. Thank you Meadowlake!

I only want the best for my furbabies and Meadowlake is just that. I have two small poodle mixes that have visited Meadowlake for lodging, daycare and grooming.
Before finding Meadowlake, that I often refer to as «Doggy Disneyland», my husband and I had taken our pups to various groomers and lodging facilities that just did not compare to Meadowlake. They are so attentive to detail. No matter how big or small the request I always feel like they understand my concerns and they are always able to put my worries at ease.
My little guys are very high energy and they LOVE going to Doggy daycare. Honesty, they do enjoy playing with the other pups but their favorite part is all the cuddle time and pets they get from the awesome daycare counselors!
I am so happy I have found Meadowlake for my pups. You can honestly feel the love and passion each employee has for each pet that walks in the door. Thank you, Meadowlake for providing a wonderful home away from home for my little furballs.

Update on my previous review. After doggie daycare twice a month for about 2 months, I got a call saying that my dog was showing aggressive behavior and would need to attend their training before he could return. I’m sorry but I don’t know what changed from the first 7 weeks he was there, as my first review stated, and now. Staff? He is very skiddish around men and actually started nipping and showing aggression after coming here. He went through training elsewhere and had never shown this behavior until that week. I don’t know if I can say it was something they did but that’s all I can contribute the behavior to. He has been to the same vet and same dog park since we got him at 6 monthss old and never an incident. Even the vet said that his behavior has changed and didnt want to specifically say it was because of Meadowlake but again, thats all we can attritute the behavior to So just a heads up… we still aren’t able to break him. Even had another trainer come in our home and he may not ever be good with small children or men again…

My two furry children have stayed here three times and they absolutely love it! I know they are spoiled the whole time they are there :)
The staff is incredibly attentive and you can tell everyone on staff loves being there. It is a bit pricey. The last stay cost me about $ 700 for 6 days. That would be the only reason I would shop around a little more.

So here’s what makes Meadowlake the best: The dogs and cats are happy, calm and clean.
I have some dogs that get stressed by noises and activity. I have others that get stressed by inactivity. One gets so stressed in boarding that she refuses to eat and looses weight — even when I boarded her in a two-​kennel facility (literally, there were only 2 kennels) with her beloved trainer! However, at Meadowlake, they ALL stay happy. All of my dogs are relaxed when I pick them up. When I tour the facility, it’s QUIET. The dogs aren’t barking and howling; they aren’t stressed. They are either calm in their kennels our out for activity. This place is built and run by people who understand dog and cat psychology and health. They read the animal’s behavior excellently and respond with caring and gentle guidance. I’m trained as a behaviorist, and I see the dogs and handlers interacting and responding to each other very well.
One time, my spaz dog who doesn’t get along with other dogs was out for her private activity session and started limping. The poor staff, who love her, immediately made a vet appointment, called me to inform me and appologized profusely that they had no idea how the injury happened. I had the option of having her go to the vet in my absence or cancel the appointment. With a little discussion, I found out that she was limping on the leg where she had arthritis that flared when she was active, and that’s why they didn’t see her get injured. We cancelled the appointment and just reduced her activity level.
It’s clean, too. No smells, no poo poo mounds, no piss in the corners. My pets have never gotten sick while there. Nor have I ever seen any obviously ill animals at the facility (and I have a very keen eye for it!). Some of my dogs receive daily medications for chronic conditions. Meadowlake staff have always dispensed the medicine as instructed.
The food they serve (if you don’t provide your own) is wholesome kibble. I love that they cook meals for the tenents on holidays. My dogs dined on Thanksgiving dinner while I dined on mine many miles away!
Now, Meadowlake can get pricey. I often pick the 5-​star package for some of my pets who I know really need that level of activity and attention. I also have add-​ons, like medication charges. When I’m «down on my luck», I just can’t afford it. But when I can afford it, it’s worth every penny!

I wrote a previous review detailing the severe eye laceration my dog received while in the care of Meadowlake. My dog is now in the process of undergoing eye surgery to try and save her eye. Broken hearted. Never again, will my dogs go to Meadowlake.

We had to use Meadowlake because there was a waiting list at Rover Oaks. The place smelled when we walked in, and we were forced to pay for the pet warranty but weren’t told about it until we dropped the dog off. I make a very good income and do not need a warranty for vet bills, etc. just another example of how they strong arm money out of you.
This place will nickel and dime you to death! They charged fees for everything including feeding your pet your own food from home. Our dog lost nearly 2 pounds after being there only 3 days. Expensive fees, smells, and strong arm warranty tactics mean I’ll never bring my dog here again.

I boarded my dog here three times in the past. Two times they over medicated my dog even though his medication bottle had the directions clearly typed by the vet. I was not told, but rather discovered it when I reviewed the bill and noticed an extra «medication administration» charge on each day.
You can also never speak to anyone. The only «reservation specialist» they have is Dominique, who is NEVER in her office. Nor does she return calls. The third time I boarded my dog I left her a voicemail at 0900. I called back at 1100 and actually spoke to someone at the front desk who said she was standing next to her and that Dominique would call me back shortly. At 1600 (4 pm) I still had not received a call so I called back. Dominique’s voicemail said she was gone for the day and to try the front desk for a reservation. No one at the front desk ever answered.
To sum it up, this place is irresponsible, undependable, and is NOT recommended.
