We teach math in a way that makes sense to children. We tutor math only to students in grades 2 – 12. We use the time-​tested, proprietary Mathnasium Method™.

Our goal is to build number sense and with it a deep understanding and lifelong appreciation of mathematics. Our programs help students who are at, above, or below grade level to develop number sense as well as the foundational and advanced skills necessary for success in the classroom and beyond.

Upon enrollment each child will be thoroughly assessed by a written diagnostic exam and an interview with our Center Director. A detailed custom learning plan will be prepared for each child focusing on their areas of weakness.

We never send work home with students. All work is completed in our center under the direct supervision of our instructors where each child receives immediate feedback about their work.

History

Established in 2002.

More than forty years ago, math educator Larry Martinek painstakingly developed and assembled a blend of methods and materials that would provide children with the strong foundation they needed to succeed in math. Instead of relying on traditional rote memorization and repetitive exercises, Larry’s work focused on helping children understand math by honing their math instincts and getting them to think like mathematicians.

In the spring of 2002 Larry introduced his teaching methodologies as the Mathnasium Method™ at the first Mathnasium learning center in Westwood, California. Students of all ages found the curriculum to be incredibly powerful and engaging.

Today the Mathnasium Method™ is providing children increased confidence, critical thinking skills, and mathematical ability to last a lifetime in more than 600 Mathnasium centers across North America.

Mathnasium of Memorial City has been helping students since 2011.

Meet the Manager

Haley W.

Manager

Haley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Mississippi. She has extensive experience tutoring students at all levels including college. Haley has a passion for learning mathematics and finding math in the everyday world. She is looking forward to sharing this passion with the kids at Mathnasium. She enjoys baking, reading, theatre, and running with her dog Beans. She lives with her husband in Houston, Texas.
