M T Nails and Facial Salon

Love love this nail salon! I’m super picky who does my nails and they are great! Tiffany and Tammy are the best! I’ve been coming here for over a year and there is no other place near this area who does a better job for the price!

I’m really sad to write this review. I’m sad because of the hatchet job that was done to my nails.
I went in to get a shellac manicure and I needed to have my nails taken down some. I explained to the woman that I was happy with the shape just needed them a bit shorter. My nails are shorter but they are all different lengths and shapes. On top of that my cuticles are a mangled mess.
Save yourself time and money and go elsewhere for your services. Plus the salon is rather dirty and the employees are very loud talking on their personal phones and with each other. Not a relaxing experience at all.

If you’re in the Houston area, definitely check out M T Nails. I had a couple mediocre experiences until I came across Tammy. She is exceptional! After the first time seeing her, she remembered me and exactly how I like my nails (very, very short and natural, acrylic with shellac overlay — not your average set!) With the amount of traffic that comes in and out of this salon, I was truly impressed! She goes above and beyond and does an impeccable job. Everyone there is very sweet and professional. I always have a great experience and recommend them highly!

I always want to think positive things about this place. The nail techs are nice and the designs they do for toe art are above average for Houston. My problem is the quality of their work once I leave. I usually get a pedicure as well as pink and white or a fill and a shellac. I stopped going here for a year because I would have to come in once a week (I went here for about four months) due to my nail breaking (I don’t work with my hands and don’t do anything out of the ordinary with them to warrant the excessive breakage). They were nice to fix it free of charge but it’s a lot of time wasted to have to come here for one nail. I decided to go elsewhere but on a whim I decided to come here for a pedi, fill, and shellac. The pedicure was nice and the nail art was on point. I was excited about the shallac options and happy with my color. However after one day my nail broke and after three days, my shallac is coming off of four of my nails. I feel that I could have had the same results with regular nail polish. If all you need is a pedicure and you are in the area I would say this may be an option. However I will not becoming back here for any services.

I love this place! Have been going for 5 yrs and haven’t had one bad experience with Tammy/​Jenny or Annie. My whole family goes here. Best price in town for shellac manicure and quality service.

DO NOT GO TO THE GUY. Just to be clear this review doesn’t reflect my view of the establishment just the experience I had today. I went in to get shellac. It’s one of the best prices in town. I got a gentlemen who is new here. For the love of god if you go in and you get him, ask for someone else. HE WAS THE WORST. I got a mint color and it was obvious, to me, it would need a third coat. When I asked him he said it would make it look blotchy and refused. When I sat down he told me that his check didn’t go thru and had to call his bank. I didn’t mind so he put his earphones in and proceeded to call. He stopped every couple of minutes to answer the woman on the line question. It took over an hour because he was on the phone the entire time. I hurt my thumb and explained to just be gentle because it hurt. He was so rough and even when I flinched kept going. If that wasn’t bad enough when he finished there was dried clear nail polish all over my cuticles. He then told me he’s paid on commission and that he had to tend to another girl… and said «or do you want the massage.» I felt bad and just said no. Needless to say I’m completely turned off of this place and for a few dollars more can go to another and save myself the anguish.

Three strikes and you’re OUT!
I’ve been going to this salon for a couple of years. The only person I see is Jenny; I’ve used a couple of others, but they do not compare to the quality provided by Jenny.
Today though, is the last time I will set foot in the door. This is at least the third time (that I remember) that I’ve made an evening appointment and go to the salon only to find out that Jenny doesn’t want to stay ‘late’ to do a pedicure (or whatever the service is). Once she wasn’t even there when I arrived for my appointment! Sorry folks, but that is unacceptable.
The owner, Tiffany, has her cell number as the business phone. Most of the time when I call, it is quite obvious she is not on-​site and she makes appointments without having any clue if her employee is available. On one occasion, I arrived ahead of my appointment time; Jenny said it would be an hour wait. I told her I had made an appointment. MIA Tiffany had not told her of the pending appointment.
Bottom line, Jenny does a great job, however, with ‘appointments’ being an absolute JOKE, I’m not willing to take off work early just to get my nails done.

Normally I like this place. But the past few times the wait has been ridiculous. This time they told me no wait, and somehow I waited 25 minutes. I would’ve left after 10 but they put me in a chair like they were going to help me and then left me there while the helped someone who walked in as I sat down in the chair. It’s one thing to be busy and have a wait, but it’s another to lie about how long it will be and waste your time. Really disappointed because I used to like this place a lot.

I come here about every other week to visit Tammy and Kathy. Sweetest people ever! I started to get mani pedi in high school, so i’ll have to say I’m a professional customer. I like to watch how they service my nails very detailed and takes their time not rushing. I fell in love with Kathy the first time I visited MT nails. The way she cut my cuticles with care got me coming back! My bad habit of biting my nails came back and I needed acrylic nails. Tammy is here to rescue! She’s one talented tech! Shape, length, and the thickness of my nails are always perfect. I’ve been to other nail salons around this area just to check it out. Yes, they have fancy décor but the service and attitude was nothing compared to MT nails. Walk in or call in, if Tammy and Kathy is busy/​booked Jenny and Annie are just as good!!! If you are like me who enjoy perfect service over décor. Don’t waste your time and money! Go to MT nails!!!

I love this place, they are friendly and always do a good job on my nails. Tammy is one of my favorite nail girls.

I had an aversion of people doing my nails until I went to M T Salon.
The Salon is impeccable, the Nails technicians are delicate, talented and serious professionals.
I like the fact that they use soft voice as they speak to clients and among themselves. They are generally smiling or very concentrated in the task at hand and seem truly happy to work under Tiffany’s leadership.
They are a joy to watch. I use this time to relax and treat myself.
My hands look amazing. I have received lots of compliments.
I sincerely recommend women and men to try their services once ;I am certain you will be very pleased and come back.

Stopped here with the wife… just a pedicure for me…;) It was busy… Saturday…but we were in and out within an hour. Price was fair, leg/​feet massage was good, ladies working there were all nice. Overall a great visit.

I’ve actually never wrote a Unilocal review before but after my last two experiences at M T Nails, I just had to say something.
Normally, I go and ask for Jenny, she’s absolutely AMAZING, so this review no way, shape, or form reflects her. If you go, ask for her! You won’t be sorry!
Okay, back to what I really want to talk about. Rose and Kathy. These 2 women are horrible. Legit, horrible.
First, Kathy. Kathy has done a manicure and pedicure for me ONCE and I will never let her touch me again. I would like to start off by saying, I’m tough… I can handle physical pain, but during my pedicure (which was first) she was just too rough from the start… I even mentioned she was «hurting me a little» and she just smiled and kept on going. Still during the «cleaning process» she literally took one of the tools (don’t know the name of it… The sharp one that they use to clean the sides of your nails?) and SHOVED it UNDERNEATH MY TOE NAIL. I ripped my foot away from her and was like «OMG PLEASE STOP THAT HURT!!» Blood was EVERY.WHERE. She ripped my toe away from the skin and DIDNT EVEN SAY SORRY!!! I didn’t know what else to do, so I just let her finish that painful pedicure.
The ONLY thing that made the situation a little bit better is that she did do a beautiful job on my shellac! But no more how good that manicure was… Not worth the dried up blood and pain I had to endure. It’s been 3 weeks and the «blood stain» under my nail is still there.
Moving onto Rose, she was just very bitter the whole time. Every time I would ask her to file my nails shorter, really work on my cuticles, or anything she was just be mean or roll her eyes. So I stopped asking ½ way through… WRONG thing to do. Once drying my nails under the light, I noticed she didn’t even paint my nails all the way to the cuticle!!! It looked HORRIBLE!!! Literally looked like I need a fill THE DAY I GOT IT!!! I was just so annoyed… But didn’t want to say anything because she’d been so annoyed with me the whole time. It shouldn’t matter how many times I ask you to do/​fix something… You should never be mean. That’s what really bugged me… I was unhappy, my nails did NOT look good, and I felt like I couldn’t say anything. It was a horrible experience.
At the end of the day, just ask for Jenny! She’s so nice and patient! Plus, they have TONS of pretty colors so that’s always nice.

This is my usual spot for shellac mani and pedicures. The quality of the job is definitely higher than most of the salons in this area and the price is very reasonable. However if you’re want and fancy champagne and fancy pillows you may have to go to a different place.

The manager there is so rude. Every time I call to made an appointment with the person I like she tells me she is busy and to come another day. If they don’t want my business there are plenty of other places I can go to. They store is gross and dirty all the time.

Haven’t been back to this place in a year! I hate cheating on Jasmine Nails, but they’re closed on Mondays so I came here instead. I believe I stopped coming here due to inconsistencies. However, I do remember why I was such a fan in the first place and that’s because of my girl ANNIE. If you are looking for a perfect manicure/​pedicure ask for her! Her work is absolutely flawless, and she takes her time which I absolutely love.
I was lucky enough to walk-​in without an appointment. But I did notice that they will not hesitate to turn away walk-​ins when they are busy, which is a good thing! I’d rather have my nail tech take her time then do a half-​ass job. So be sure to make an appointment! Or try walking in before 5pm when they are not as busy.

I have my usual spot, but my girlfriend wanted to give MT a go since she heard good things from another person. Note to self: Take advice from Unilocalers — not from friends of friends. Not to say this place was bad — it just wasn’t great.
They have a big selection of gel nail polish, but they don’t specify which brands are which (they’re not denoted on the samples). So when I insisted on OPI, the woman kept telling me I was looking at OPI samples. If I couldn’t tell — how could she?
It was an average pedi and mani — no neck massage — with slightly above average prices. If you live in the area, try it out. Other than that, I wouldn’t go out of my way…

This place has a good location, the staff is always friendly. I have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes.
A shellac manicure costs $ 25 and takes about an hour.

I am a fan of this nail salon.
The ambiance is casual, and you see all sorts of individuals in there, even men! They get busy on the weekends, and occasionally at lunch, so I just try to plan ahead. The salon is bright and clean, not very fancy. The staff is very polite and helpful, they don’t like to waste time.
I get the shellac manicure which costs around $ 25 and usually lasts me at least 3 weeks. They have a great collection of colors, not just the standard 16 or so I’ve seen at other salons. Sometimes I’ll get a pedicure as well, it’s always a positive experience. Same thing with the regular polish — there’s a ton of options!
Overall I’ve never had a negative experience with MT salon itself, my only complaint is with the parking. I’ll keep going back since I’ve found the parking on the side of the building, it’s much easier to get in and out. If the lot is full, people will begin to parallel park behind the cars and it makes it tough to maneuver a vehicle — and yes, I drive an SUV so I’ve come to expect that at times.

I’ve been a devout customer at another nail spa in the area for almost a year now, but I wandered in here while I was in a pinch and my usual had no last minute appointments.
The ambience is pretty average, but a little nicer than some. Not as fancy as Rumor Has It, but I have no complaints. There aren’t any televisions which I actually appreciate a great deal. The music is instrumental and relaxing, which is another difference between my usual and here. At Rumor Has It (my usual) they play 80’s music, which I love, but it’s nice to just zone out to woodwinds and strings at MT Nails as well.
The prices at MT are very reasonable with a pedicure starting at $ 25, and a shellac manicure for under $ 35 I believe. I also had a 15 minute shoulder & neck massage in a private room for $ 15.
The services here have not disappointed me yet, but I will say the shellac didn’t last as long as I am used to, so I started to ask for an extra coat of top-​coat. That helped. They also have a huge selection of colors by OPI and a giant shellac/​gel collection.
I am laughing right now because for some reason they are playing an instrumental version of the Hannukah song, «8 days of Hannukah». I also find it amusing that every time I come here, men are also receiving manis & pedis. That must say something about how good the place is if it even gets guys crawling in seeking some healing hands for their achy feet!
