History
Established in 2011.
Lucille’s is a tribute to a legacy of culinary excellence started almost a century ago. In 2011, brothers Ben and Chris Williams found this old house nestled in the heart of Houston’s Museum District. The pair thought it was the perfect site to pick up and continue the culinary tradition began by their Great-Grandmother Lucille B. Smith. Today they continue to pay homage to her by replicating some of her most famous recipes while embellishing others to create innovative takes on southern food classics. Lucille’s is truly a historical dining experience!

Christopher «Chris» Erroll Williams spent his early childhood summers at his paternal grandmother’s home, Josie Williams, in Brenham, Texas. He climbed pear trees, fished and snapped fresh green beans and tore ten pounds of collard greens in her kitchen, where the two of them would talk for hours while she made supper.
Growing up, all Williams wanted to be was be an attorney like his father; yet, all he has ever done is cook.
After graduating from the Le Cordon Blue in Austin, Texas, Williams traveled around the world, working in Lithuania, London and Washington, D.C. While on holiday in Porto, Portugal, with a friend, they got lost in a summer storm in the old part of the city. Across the street from them, they noticed an elderly woman next to an ice chest of fresh fish. Turns out she was in front of a restaurant that allowed you to choose your own fish, and the owner’s mother-in-law (the sweet lady suffering outside in the cold rain) would grill it for you.
