Lacquer London Nail Lounge

I tried out this salon a few months ago, a friend mentioned she’d tried it out during their soft opening and that the décor was super cute plus they used the coveted Inglot 02 polish that’s difficult to find in other salons. She did mention though that they had recently opened and seemed like they had a few kinks to iron out. I thought I’d give it a try anyway since my sister was in town and I wanted to treat her to somewhere fun and a little less stuffy than our usual spa dates. I’d made appointments for both of us, we did run about 15 mins late but when we checked in the lady at the desk was very nice and accommodating. We had to sit at the front for about 10 minutes before we finally were led to our stations and got started. We were offered drinks, I ordered coffee and that was pretty good. The biggest problem by far is that both our nail technicians were SUPER slow and seemingly inexperienced. A spa mani and pedi took TWO hours, no joke. It was absolutely excruciating, we were both getting tired of sitting there and just wanted it to be over with. And both our treatments were just ok, nothing extraordinary and if anything the nail techs didn’t seem very experienced to be honest; my feet weren’t completely smooth and the polish application was far from perfect. For a $ 90 mani/​pedi, I honestly expected a lot more. Yes the ambiance is nice, the location is good, and the people who work there are nice enough, but when it comes down to it the actual execution, it left a lot to be desired. I haven’t returned since and I sincerely doubt I will since there are so many other salons in Houston that just do the job better at a better value.

I passed this place on my way to my usual nail salon and decided to make an appointment for next time. The ambiance in the salon is ok despite the loud music. I got a gel overlay and spa pedicure, and they were both mediocre at best. The manicurist was nice, she did a great job explaining the process (I had never had gel nails before) and helping me pick out colors. The refill was ok, but not worth $ 40. The pedicure wasn’t good at all, the lady doing the pedicure talked incessantly the entire time and made off the cuff jokes that I thought were obnoxious and annoying. The pedicure was $ 60 and there was absolutely no relaxation because she wouldn’t stop talking. She did not seem experienced at all. Needless to say, I won’t be returning and this experience made me appreciate my original nail salon.
Update 12/​22/​2016: I would just like to say that everyone has their own opinion of what works for them and this place didn’t work for me… the review is not to deter business, yet to warn people who are looking for relaxation in their nail salon that this may not be the place for them. The owner called me ONCE not several times. She did not leave a message which is why I didn’t call back (because I didn’t know who it was). I did get the direct message on Unilocal where she asked me to call her to discuss my experience with the woman who did my pedicure so that she could initiate disciplinary action. On the public forum the story is she’s great and I gave «mixed signals»…lol. The implication is absurd… how about you tell her to just hush unless the client strikes up a conversation with her just to be sure the client wants that type of experience. Every one in the salon was dressed for work, this girl literally looked like she rolled out of bed and came into the salon. Her conversations about alcoholics and how she likes to get drunk were unprofessional, her appearance was unprofessional, and the job she did on the pedicure was unprofessional. I know that your products are a higher quality, but I don’t care if she used angels wings to dry my feet that pedicure WAS NOT worth $ 60 period. Again, the lady that did my nails did a great job and my nails still look good almost a month later. I would come back for her, but unfortunately I don’t want to have to go to two different places to get my nails done AND I don’t particularly care for the tone of the owners response. Anyway… I just wanted to update in response to the owners response. I do appreciate her reaching out but I wouldn’t go back there even if it was free. To the owner… maybe try to be a bit more solution oriented and apologetic in your public responses instead of pointing the finger at the clients. I do understand that you’re probably only doing that to the people who won’t be returning, but still it comes across as snarky. Good luck with your business :) Thanks.

Absolutely excellent service! I love the ambience & motif. The complimentary drinks are superb and I love how attentive Stacy (front desk) is to any drink needs. Also, I really love Emily’s work, very precise & works in a timely fashion. She’s also very knowledgable about her nail technique and doesn’t hold back in regards to any questions I had.
I’ll be back for more… And of course the manager, Amneh is accommodating & very pleasant.

There are just some people in this world who are simply miserable with themselves therefore they have to spread their misery to others.
I was the costumer that Courtney is referring to when discussing how soft my feet were 4weeks after my pedicure that I received from London Lacquer, which is a record due to my stilettos & sandals I usually wear.
Secondly, that coffee Courtney is referring to (big smiles) was MY espresso that you personally so kindly took the the time to make me, THEN had a staff member go next door to retrieve coconut milk for the espresso. Thank you again by the way!
65 degrees outside lol hardly, Courtney maybe your just iron deficiency. Because it was not cold out Sat. Nov. 22, or cold inside and even if it was, I’m more than certain one of the staff members would of graciously fixed issue for you. London Lacquer is in the business of costumer satisfactory. As they go way beyond the call of duty. Even serving drinks of all kinds to help us feel comfortable. If that was my salon it is negative mean people like you that I wouldn’t want in my establishment. Sat. Nov. 22, was my second go around for my services because not only did I love the ambience & how I was treated like a queen, but my nails are on fleeque and my hair is stunning!!! I have ranted & raved about my hair & nails on social media. That I will proudly show off here on Unilocal now.
Lol I also took a photo of my delicious latte that definitely perked me up, which I needed because I had been up since early a.m.

I decided to try a new nail salon today with a friend. I absolutely love the vibe of the salon, it’s like Alice in wounder land meets London! The individual chairs are comfy and cozy. They have a nice drink menu. I got a cappuccino, it was freshly made and delicious. They have a large variety of gel polish, regular polish and wraps. Not to mention it very earth friendly, not tons of chemicals. Good quality products. It was not rushed, very relaxing. I would highly recommend if u want to try a new place!!!

Not worth the money and the time. $ 45 for the retreat package in an uncomfortable chair with chintzy feeling materials. Then the manager put the AC on when it’s only 65° and rainy. So cold. Is that really what you want when your hands are in water? The scrub lasted about 45 seconds per hand, and she didn’t even apply the coconut butter stuff above my wrists. Had to skip the pedicure as the manicure was almost an hour… And not in a luxurious, indulgent way.
REPLY TO SALON COMMENT: Several things in the salon response are erroneous. I specifically wanted a pedicure and another customer in the salon talked to me about the how soft my feet would feel. I was not in a rush and did not say I didn’t have time. However, I also wasn’t expecting or wanting this to be a two hour endeavor. It was when I was part way through the manicure that I asked the nail technician who would be doing my pedicure and she said she would be. I said I wasn’t sure I could take that long, and she stated she could do both in 45 minutes. Didn’t happen. And I didn’t like the retreat service. My opinion… to which I’m entitled.
When I went to check out, you asked me ONLY one time how it was. I said fine… I didn’t say terrific, great or that I’d be back. And it certainly didn’t feel as though my experience was your main concern. To me you appeared more worried with how hot your coffee was or wasn’t from the coffee shop next door.
As I received a service I asked for, the nail technician was sweet and nothing was horrible, I changed my initial two star rating to three as that seemed fair… well before I read your snarky response.
Ultimately, I’m glad I chose not say anything to you at the time as I don’t believe that it would have been a satisfying exchange. From your contentious response here, it doesn’t appear to me that you are interested in making things better but rather justifying and making me somehow wrong.
I will leave the three star rating but any thought of visiting your establishment for a second chance are gone.

Serious pampering. The foot massage is wonderful. The products are natural and smell great. Relaxing.

I am dangerously in love with this place! The ladies are COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL and TALENTED! I love their use of organic products and the wine and champagne seals the deal. Best of all, my nails are beyond healthy.

This is the best nail salon I have found in Texas! The women here are amazing and incredibly skilled. They care about your nails from a healthy stand point and everything they use is vegan. They make their own spa treatments. They are all English speaking and incredibly sweet!

I’ve been coming to Lacquer London for a few months now and it is officially my new nail salon!!! I am always greeted by name and with smiling faces. I was sold with the complimentary wine and they make sure I feel comfortable. The owner (Amneh) is such a lovely person and very informative on healthy nails and products. Overall, the service is always outstanding and my nails always look gorgeous. Thank you sooooo much Emily!!!

Love this place. For starters they use high quality polishes and gels, which are much longer lasting than the polishes and gels I’ve gotten at other salons. Secondly, the staff and the owner really strive to personalize one’s experience at this shop. Btw — I love the music here. I would totally lounge here if it was an after work spot and have some drinks. It’s such a pleasure to be able to get high quality service, especially after a long work week. Lacquer London does charge higher prices, but I think it’s well worth the service and products. I will be back.

Been looking all over the Houston area for a GOOD nail lounge. I can’t believe that I wasted my time and money on places that were just plain bad when this lounge is only 2 minutes away from my home and I never paid attention to it!!! I absolutely LOVED everything about it, the staff is great (you can actually carry conversations with the ladies on the other side of the table), décor is top of the line, pedi section looks like you’ll be in heaven with those comfy chairs, REASONABLE prices for a beautiful lounge like this, and location it’s just perfect. I’m definitely going to become a faithful customer!

First time at this new place I saw. Really nice décor London style. I made an appointment online. The staff was really friendly and they serve complimentary drinks. Not the typical nail environment which was nice. My nails came out beautiful. If you like different crystals or nail designs try them out. I was pleased with the results. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because of the price. It was a little expensive, but for the most part the overall experience was pleasant! I plan to return.

I love this salon!!! My nails weren’t growing and were separating from the skin underneath after going to a salon I trusted for a while. I decided to check out Lacquer London because of their healthier nail products. What I didn’t expect was the amazing personalized treatment I received and the exceptional talent of the staff! I have been visiting this salon for two months now and my nails have looked nothing less than awesome each time! I started with gel extensions, but my nails are now long enough for just an overlay. My nail problems have disappeared and have grown out healthy and strong. I have never had a nail experience like this…

Absolutely the best nail salon I’ve experienced. Everyone is nice and welcoming. They will not let you walk out unsatisfied. The spa pedicure is EVERYTHING! Very upscale. There is nothing more relaxing than to get a foot massage with a drink. I definitely recommend everyone try this great experience. You will thank me later!..

This was my second time coming here and I feel compelled to post a review if simply just for the outstanding customer service alone.
I came here during my lunch hour for a gel mani in which they had to also remove my original gel polish. I also requested a wrap on one nail for each hand. I knew it was going to take more than an hour but around the 2 hour mark I had to leave and I was not pleased with the results. I aired my grievances to the girl at the front desk and not only did she comp my service but she urged me to come back after work so they could fix the work done on my nails.
Came back after work and they redid one of my nail wraps and cleaned up the rest of my nails. Now they look absolutely amazing! Most of all the girl at the front desk and the manager were more than accommodating. I will definitely be visiting this salon again.

Yes please. The décor is not what I expected. I like it allot though. Friendly informative staff. Comfortable chair, yummy wine. Conveniently located next to a coffee shop and brow bar.

After driving by this lounge for a couple of weeks and trying to figure out if it was open, I finally stepped in last week to give it a try. It was a week night around 5:30 and the shop was pretty quiet. The interior is decked out in British-​inspired décor and kind of has that industrial/​bare bones feel. I was surprised to see a cozy pedicure area with non-​traditional, oversized chairs and bowls, a separate manicure area and a shampoo/​blow-​out bar.
The mani/​pedi services are by appointment and walk-​in, and it sounds like the blow-​out service will be the same eventually, but right now it is by appointment only. Blow-​outs start at $ 40 and offer add-​on conditioning treatments for extra charges. While I absolutely love my regular hair stylist, I am interested in coming here to check out the add-​in of the 10-​minute scalp and neck massage shampoo they offer.
The day I visited, I just needed to get my nails done. I always do shellac, so my first question was if they even offered this service. Yes, but for an additional $ 15 for any of the manicure packages I chose to go with. I was offered two packages: 1. The Retreat ($ 30) — trimming, buffing, shaping, cuticle clean-​up and 5-​minute massage; 2. The Spa ($ 40) — All of the above, and also a 10-​minute massage and clay mask. I chose the later and chose the lavender and jasmine bath bomb for the pre-​soak.
I honestly don’t remember getting a mask, and I don’t think I received a full 10-​minute massage, but I’m so terrible with time, I could be wrong. Either way, I didn’t exactly think it was worth the extra $ 10. Especially since I had to pay an additional $ 15 for gel/​shellac.
My manicurist was very sweet, friendly and did a great job with the actual gel/​shellac application. They offer a different type of gel that is easier to process. It didn’t have a base or top coat, so they only had to apply the color in a couple of coats and it was done. I’m always leery of those UVA lights, so this eliminated the time and frequency of the exposure.
I don’t have any complaints about the qualify of the service/​manicure, but I was not impressed with the price and value of the manicure I received. For the $ 55 I paid (close to $ 70 after the tip), I really felt like this was the same service I would receive if I went to any strip-​mall nail salon. The ONLY difference to me is the fact that there was only one other client in the lounge at the same time, so it was fairly quiet. However, this was not enough justification for continue coming here. I can usually get a mani AND pedi for not much more than what I paid here. They did send me an email after my service offering me $ 10 for another service (over $ 40), so that is a nice offer. However, I just wasn’t impressed enough with the price and service to come back.

By far the most classy upscale Nail Lounge in Houston. I love the vibe and superb service. The Nail Techs are polite and gentle, they also pay close attention to details. Not to mention all their products are ORGANIC! #Winning The owner is amazingly sweet. I would recommend this place to everyone!
