La Quinta Inn & Suites Houston Southwest

The only positive about this place is the staff. The waffle maker is broken, the sheets were not changed, they don’t have a mini store to get pain killers. I do not recommend this place.

I’m pretty easy to please when it comes to hotels. The staff was friendly and my room was clean but that’s about all I can say.
When I checked in the front desk attendant warned me about parking my car as close to the front desk as possible («if you don’t want sketchy things to happen, don’t park in a sketchy place like the back…»).
The entire place smells like weed. When I say the entire place I mean outside too, parking lot, lobby, elevator, all four floor hallways, inside the rooms, everything. 3^rd floor ice machine was broken so I had to go to the second which was clearly where the smell was coming from… hits you like a ton of bricks as soon as the elevator opens.
I try to not judge but it was also apparent that some type of trafficking business was going on on the fourth floor. I stayed there for 6 days and rode the elevator several times with the same 3 – 4 ladies going up to the fourth floor with many different men.
Also I could hear all kinds of crazy noises at all hours of the night coming from above my room on the third floor.
Strange men lingering in breakfast area and near the front door all hours of the day tried to stop and hit on me every time I walked in or out.
I would have moved hotels if it wasn’t for the super nice and friendly security guards and front desk attendees.
As I said, I’m pretty easy to please when it comes to hotels but I was here for business and the whole experience was a little distracting.

Do not stay here unless–
You don’t regard your safety, you like rooms that reek of smoke (even though it’s a non smoking room)

The slogan is «Wake Up On The Bright Side» but if you wake up hungry, don’t plan on eating here! If you want great service, don’t stay here. The bed was comfortable, but that’s the best I can say. When we checked in, the clerk said, «breakfast is from 7 – 10, but I have everything out by 6 so come on down early.» I came down about 8:30, but it was crowded so I came back at 8:50. The breakfast bar was crowded and completely unstocked. The place was a mess. Upon talking to the manager, my husband learned breakfast was over at 9 and nothing would be re-​stocked. She gave him a spoon, but nothing more. The place was so dirty! We ate elsewhere! We will not stay here again!

Just drove in from California hoping to stay in a nice clean hotel room. Boy were my hopes dashed! Check in was actually quick and easy so I have no problem giving one star for that. Here’s where it gets rough. Those bell hop carts barely rolled right so it was super difficult getting all our luggage up. Clerk saw me struggling and didn’t even budge to help. Got on elevator and floor was wet and dirty. Hallway smelled like mold and weed. Got to our «executive king» room and started noticing how filthy it was! It was like no one vacuumed or swept or mopped in weeks. Dirt and crumbs all over the floor. Mini fridge had a half empty bottle of liquor still in it! Mind you I had my 2 toddlers with me so that’s the last thing I wanted to find. Trash can had left over rubbish. Bath tub had little hairs all over it so it obviously hadn’t been cleaned. Someone’s dress was still hanging on the bathroom door. And yes, I too found a bug on the wall! There was no way I was going to sleep in that bed!
I called front desk and let him know the situation and told him we were checking out right away. It was already 11pm but still left because it was that awful. After everything we went thru the clerk had not apologized even once.

Do not stay here. Walls are paper thin. AC is LOUD! Bathroom faucet and door lock broken. Needless to say I didn’t get any sleep. It’s 3:40 am now and I am writing this review.

It’s the worst La Quinta I have ever stayed. I removed the Do not disturb tag before 12pm, and the cleaning lady saw me leaving the room, but she never cleaned my room! I asked front desk later and they said all cleaning ladies left at 3pm, no one can clean my room after that. So I have to do my own cleaning
also I saw a roach in the dinning area and asked front desk if they can spray, they laughed at me and gave me the kind of look like“are you crazy?” I know it’s an old building, but that’s the not right attitude to respond to complaint.

Can bring your cat or dog for no extra charge. Free breakfast & wireless. The rooms are clean and staff are good. No complaints about the price. Got the best deal thru their reservation system. Better than orbitz and the other sites.

Please stay as far away from this La Quinta as you possibly can. This is one of the worst location that I have ever stayed at. With so many La Quintas around the area, definitely do some research before staying here.
From check-​in to check-​out, everything was just awful. We arrived early Sunday morning, 4am to check-​in after driving roughly 17 hours from Chicago to Houston. We were all dead tired and when got here, we noticed crappy this location was compared to other La Quintas we stayed at before. When we were going up to our room in the 4^th floor, as soon as the elevator opened, you could smell the filth of this place. Sweat mixed with marijuana is all I recalled. At this time, we just continued to walk as fast as we can to get to our room. When we got there, I noticed how dirty our room was. The bed blanket had gross «poop» stains on it and almost all our towels had stains on them as well. One even had huge red lip stick stains on like ¹⁄₃ of the towel. Okay, I don’t know how the staff here are trained, but if something is dirty after being washed, then you should not put it in a room so other guest can use it. That is just plain wrong and extremely bad for business.
My gf decides to call front desk and tell the person about it and he responds, «we can’t give you another blanket because we don’t have any». Then my gf said, «you expect us to just sleep in a dirty blanket that looks like someone smeared poop all over it?» The guy replied, «yes.» Seriously? If it wasn’t 4 in the morning, we would have got a refund and walk our ass out to another hotel. Fed up we called corporate and complaint and the lady behind the phone was extremely nice. She helped us talk to the guy in the front desk and now he magically happens to have another clean blanket for us. On top of that, when we asked if they could bring it up to us, he said no, we have to come downstairs to get it.
Also, just when you think your night couldn’t get any worst, our sink didn’t work properly. When you turn it on, water would go everywhere and the pipes were leaking all over the floor. We held everything in and just went to bed because we were all dead tired. The next morning we woke up and talked to the manager. We were ready to book out and go somewhere else; however, she was nice and helpful and apologized to us and gave us keys to 2 other rooms for us to look at before to see if we wanted to switch rooms. One of them was pretty bad and had a nasty smell, but we decided on the other room which was much nicer and had no smell. On top of that, the sink was working and everything was «cleaner». Some towels still had stains, but we were given 4 clean ones the night before. Also, the water to this place stopped working at 12:30pm the following morning because the pipes were broken? Therefore, we had no water from 12:30pm and we were lucky we all just finished showering.
In short, do not stay at this place and avoid this location at all cost. The rooms are extremely dirty and you will be lucky to find one clean towel in your room. The staff here definitely needs to have a meeting about putting dirty or visibly stained towels up for guest to use. The only person who was helpful here was the manager. With that said, we booked out early and head out to Dallas.

This is the most dysfunctional business I’ve ever seen. I had to wait 45 minutes to be checked in, then waited another 20 minutes for my room to be «cleaned.» The hotel was overbooked because of a staff error. At one point a man on his phone said that a 40 minute wait to be checked in was ridiculous, then the receptionist told the security guard to escort him out of the building.
My room was not cleaned. There was food on the floor and walls. The bathroom was not cleaned and toiletries were not replaced.
Do not stay at this hotel!
