I registered and scheduled a time slot. I showed up on the day, 10 minutes early for my appointment, and they had no record of me on the schedule. They told me I had to go away and schedule again.
The reason I’m getting finger printed in the first place is so that I can substitute teach to feed my family. I will now not be able to do that for another two weeks.

Very difficult to find this location. The front staff is very rude and has no real desire to help. They simply want to herd you through. Recommend staying away. If you do come here arrive at least 15 – 20 minutes in advance since it’s hard to find and there’s no real number to call.
The seats are comfortable.

Great location. Nice and clean. Efficient services. No long waiting line like the other fingerprinting places I went in the past. Extremely easy online scheduling. No more paper fingerprinting records as everything is done electronically. Will be back for the court interpreter fingerprint if needed. Highly recommended.

The process itself takes ~5 to 10 minutes and the staff are professional.

I went to this location twice for fingerprinting. I read all the previous reviews, and here’s my general idea about the place and also about the rest of the reviews.
1. As you can see in other reviews, finding the place is kinda tricky, but since you have read the other reviews, now it’s gonna be easy for you to find it.
2. Both of the times I went to this location for fingerprinting, I was done very quickly, so if they are not unusually busy, you won’t have to wait for too long.
3. They were very friendly and nice to me (and when I talked to them, it seemed to me that almost all of the staff were new, and I thought this was why I had a different experience compared to others who had gone there long time ago).
4. They don’t accept cash or cards (only personal checks or money order) which is a little strange, but remember to take your checkbook with you and you’ll be fine.
In a nutshell, I have no experience with other fingerprinting places, but this place seems to me a perfectly good location to do the job.

So based on Unilocalers recommendations I decided to go AWAY from this location my first time in need of fingerprints. I opted for a different location in town and was actually burned bad. They screwed up my paperwork and the agency which required my fingerprints declined my submission. I called up the corporate office and after being on HOLD for a long time they finally answered and rescheduled me here.
After reading all of the reviews I knew where I was headed so it wasn’t that hard to find. Granted this place has NO signage at all. Heads up it is in between the dentist and the nail place. I scheduled it at 9 am and they opened up at 9 am. I got there at like 9:01 and was already the 3^rd person in line.
However, they were quick and I was out within 20 minutes. Hopefully everything goes smoothly but the people were actually nice.

We were referred here by DPS to get fingerprinting done. After going to their online system to book our appointment (
), I thought it was weird that there were no telephone numbers for the onsite locations. But, since they had a pretty detailed booking system, I shrugged it off, and we just went ahead with it.
Welllll, first, as the other survivors mentioned, you can’t find the place. So of course we tried to find a number to call, but oh! There was no number. We called the toll-​free number off their site, and after speaking with the customer service rep for a few minutes (she never found our appointment or tried to contact the shop on our behalf), all she said was, «well they have a 10 minute window, so just tell them that you talked to customer service.»
By this point we finally found the place, unmarked as others said, and were 10 minutes late. The extra-​happy lady (sarcasm) up front said, «We close in 5 minutes. Do you have a check or money order? You gonna have to come back after 2p.»
Luckily I wasn’t the only one in the place, as I am sure a string of expletives in a rather unpleasant voice would have followed out of my mouth. After all this hassle with the online booking, the less-​than-​useful customer service rep, and the diva at the front, they couldn’t tell me this information before hand (ie, that it was a unmarked storefront, that there was a lunch closing time (who the heck does that anymore?!), and that they won’t accept cash or credit card at the facility).
Instead, we just turned around, and walked right out of this mess. We already wasted an hour’s time, but hey, let’s not put icing on the cake by finishing up the experience here. Luckily, after calling HPD (and calling about 5 other directed numbers after that), we arrived at the Houston Permitting Center off Memorial and Washington right before you enter downtown. Go there. It’s clean, easy, and fast. And did I mention easy?

I am assuming this place doesn’t believe in customer service because they were so rude and did the minimal possible. I went here to get my fingerprints done for my job. First of all, there’s no visible sign. They have a tiny sign posted on the window saying L-​1 Identity Solutions. It’s located to the left of Dragon Nails. I was the only customer in there and the 2 ladies were just chatting back and forth and ignored me. Then finally, when they thought I was worthy enough to be helped and I got my fingerprints scanned. I have sweaty hands so getting a proper read was a problem but that’s something I can’t help. I don’t need to be yelled and ridiculed at! Then I asked if she could check over the prints to see if we need to do a redo. Something I’m sure would take 2 seconds and she said there’s nothing she can do. I felt she was saying that so she can go back to gossiping with her coworker. Awful awful service.
Thank God my fingerprints went through because I do not want to come back here.

In the midst of a quarter life crisis, instead of a Porsche I opted for a name change. Cheaper and easier to undo in case I get buyer’s remorse. The great state of Texas requires fingerprints before legally changing one’s name to «Johnny Picture» and this is where L-​1 Identity Solutions comes onto the scene. While I thought it would be convenient to schedule online, their web based scheduler was was a pain in the ass, but it felt good knowing I had an appointment booked.
The place has a strip center location but no external sign indicating where L-​1 actually is located. See the photos. The internally displayed is sign is tiny-​if actually visible beyond five feet. When you see that small «sign» you are already there.
I was late to the appointment and luckily few other people were needing the services they perform.
The guy at the front desk quickly finished updating his facebook status and turned his attention towards my direction. Before I start this international crime caper I need fingerprints and a passport photo. I told him what I needed and he asked for money, which in this day and age was weird because they wanted a check.
Do businesses still accept checks?
L-​1 only takes checks and money orders so I had to go across the street to get a money order.
I returned and the guy at the front desk had me fill out a form and the girl in the back called my name a several minutes later.
Once I’m in the back getting fingerprinted the cold demeanored girl who did not introduce herself asks why I’m getting fingerprinted. She’s gripping my wrist and hands, smashing my fingers across a machine at this point so I feel obligated tell her about the name change.
Clearly she’s not accomplice material, and it occurs to me that it’s really none her business. Alas, I spilled the beans and now feel weird about the whole scenarion. A stranger knows my business and it gets me thinking about what L-​1 Identity Solutions does with my personal and private information?
How do they protect it from others or malicious hackers?
So much for privacy. The speed of the visit is only reason they got two stars.
