DO NOT USE! Horrible, terrible service!!! This company should be shut down! They «lost» boxes and have exceeded the 120 days to respond to the claim. While I’m not thrilled that they lost meaningful items, and suddenly became very difficult to follow-​up with as everyone pointed to someone else about where the items may have been lost in the transporting process… It’s more frustrating that we had to follow-​up with them about when to expect them and we were made to feel a request for ETA was unusual (talking about a day not couple of hours), and then the driver shows up late with two children from a shelter to unload the truck. Unbelievable!!!

I use to work for this company and trust me these comments are true. After working for this company I would never trust a moving company they ruined it for me. They changed the name every year so stay cautious of who you hire for your move it could be the same people using another name. They use to go by great american moving and storage. Bob use to go by brian they use fake names I know the real names. If you want to press charges against them send me a email I will provide you with their real names.

absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had. They came and picked up my stuff on August 29^th from Auburn Washington. They were supposed to deliver my stuff in Orlando Florida by October 14^th. It is now two days from Christmas and I still have not received my stuff. I keep talking to Latasha she says that the driver is coming but I still have not received a call. I’ve talked to Nicole the manager who said that it was supposed to myself was supposed to be here before Christmas. It is not. I’ve spoken to Chloe who said that myself was supposed to be here because a driver was on his way to Florida with my stuff from Texas and last word I got was it was in Georgia.

Absolutely terrible service. I encountered Bob G, senior moving specialist in their Tacoma location, today. The whole experience was incredibly unprofessional. After receiving several calls, emails and texts, I decided to respond back letting them know that their level of communication was a bit overzealous. A few back and forths lead to me refusing to give them my business. What followed were insults and texts mocking me. I would not recommend this company to anyone and I will be submitting the text message thread to the BBB.

HORRIBLE. I moved across the country and didn’t have my stuff for over a month. To be fair, their contract says that it can take up to 31 business days to deliver your stuff. However, what bothered me was that when I called the warehouse, they kept telling me that my stuff was on its way. I was told this 4 times. It was true only 1 time. INFURIATING. Where was my stuff?!? King… commoner David had no idea.
On the plus side, the guys who loaded and unloaded my stuff were pretty nice and efficient. Only 1 expensive lamp was broken and ended up in the dumpster. However, with the light, again comes the darkness. One of the guys who loaded my stuff (I was in my apartment alone – young single lady, and btw, on my phone the whole time wearing baggy sweatpants) began texting me asking me out to dinner next time he was in the area. And he knew where I lived. Some excerpts: «Itz my duty 2 make sure ur fully satisfied with your service.» Somewhat benign, right? No. He continued. «It might seem inappropriate for me 2 come at u like this but its so crazy how u made me feel yesterday, if im being 2 disturbing 4 u, im sorry will stop now and say no more… Let me know plz» At which point I politely did. However, he went on to write that perhaps we could meet in the future or during our next life, that maybe I could breakup with my longterm boyfriend because 5 years really isn’t that long, or perhaps we could be «long distance friends.»
In summary, just don’t. You can do better. Choose a different moving company.

Before I get to the details of my review, I want to point out that the responses by King David Moving’s management to other complaints here on Unilocal are very disturbing and inconsiderate.
This is probably one of the worst companies in the US. I would rather transport my belongings on my back across the country than employ King David Moving. They not only provided a low ball estimate and charged us outrageous overages upon pick-​up, but allowed our furniture to be stolen, and also left our goods to the elements to be mildewed and molded (see pics). Horrible customer service, and Senior Moving Specialist, Scott Flachs disappears and is unresponsive after deposit has been paid.
Estimate and Pickup
Problems began with the estimate. The estimate was purposely inaccurate to win the business. No physical survey of the apartment was completed as required by part 375 of US DOT regulations, despite the carrier having an office in Berkeley, Missouri which was within a 50 mile radius of the pickup origin. When Scott Flachs, Senior Moving Specialist was questioned about this regulation, he acknowledged it, but stated that the company was simply too busy to complete a physical survey prior to providing the binding estimate. Mr. Flachs informed that given the binding distinction of the estimate additional fees upon delivery would not be charged — this was was proven not to be the case. Throughout the estimation process clear and concise responses about goods as well as descriptions of the household goods and size of household were provided. Mr Flachs guaranteed that everything would be moved with no additional charges even if the estimate was not exactly accurate. Mr. Flachs also made deceiving statements mentioning that the move would be completed by King David Moving (KDM) from start to finish; however, Mr. Flachs was unavailable for the majority of the move. Pick-​up was completed by movers in a smaller than expected Budget truck, and delivery was completed by a van line who stated that they had no affiliation with KDM, but rather they had purchased the moving contract from another van line (not KDM). Additionally, the delivery movers showed us a picture of the ill condition of the wooden crate from which they had retrieved our goods. The crate had a puddle of water on the top and cracks that appeared to have allowed water to seep into the container. Upon delivery the extent of the water damage was quickly realized. Upon the day of pick-​up issues arouse about overage charges due to more boxes present than what was on the KDM movers’s inventory list, as this was a direct result of the inaccurate estimate provided by Mr. Flachs. Mr. Flachs was unresponsive after stating that he would provide a resolution to the issue, but did not return any phone calls thereafter on this day. A customer service representative did however explain that Mr. Flachs was on lunch for the last 3 hours beginning at about 10:00 AM CST. This resulted in overage charges of $ 225 paid directly to the movers. Contact with Mr. Flachs was not achieved until 1 week after pick-​up. At that time Mr. Flachs stated he was busy with 15 other customers and placed blame for the issues on us, the customer.
Delivery
KDM requires cash or USPS money order for payment, so we decided to purchase a USPS money order for the full amount of the outstanding balance upon delivery. When presented to the movers for payment, they stated, and I quote, «we just realized that we have too many money orders.» After much confusion about this statement and its meaning, the mover finally stated, and I quote, «we need you to get cash because we do not have enough to purchase gas for our next delivery in Maryland.» Given we had already purchased the money order, this was a huge inconvenience, as they would not begin delivery, so we had to travel back to the post office to cash the money order. After payment is when the even more disturbing issues began. Many of the boxes we water damaged, reeked of mildew and soiled with mold. Many of the boxes had also been renumbered and carelessly repacked, and we later realized that some boxes were not delivered. The most disturbing issue was that the movers stated that they were done with delivery; however, our couch was no where to be found. When asked about this, the movers stated that they had not picked up a couch from the storage warehouse, and insisted that I come to the truck to see. Sure enough, no couch was on the truck. To this day, we have not been provided any insight on what happened to the couch, missing boxes, or why the goods were water damaged.
This was supposed to be a stress-​free move and it turned out to be anything but stress-​free! We will definitely not be using King David Moving and Storage Company ever again. This was a terrible experience to say the least, and if we would have known that this experience was going to be this much trouble and stress, we would have hired a different comp

HORRIBLE!!! Bad communication, horrible customer service. I still haven’t received my items even though I waited all day today to get them.

Whelp, heard back from the claims service, and AM PISSED OFF!!! For the box that was «misplaced», they are willing to give me $ 21. Wow, $ 21… Sorry buddy, no dice, and here’s why.
THEY STOLE MY SNES, GAMECUBE, AND PLAYSTATIONS.
You think that is worth $ 21!!! Shove it!
DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! Do what I should have done when moving across the country: box it yourself, hire people to pack it into a Uhaul, and drive it yourself.

I have never had to deal with such incompetent people. His was my first big move from state to state and I was already on edge. This sorry excuse for a moving company just pushed me over board.
First of all, they arrived to the pick up location late. I called and called days ahead of time and had no response on a time frame they would arrive, when I finally got a shady email with a time frame, they showed up an hour past that. I would say the men loading the truck were helpful and answered my questions.
That isn’t even the bad part. The worse part was when they arrived to my second location to unload. After calls and calls of asking a date of the arrival of my things I received a text message from the DRIVER and a picture of scenery from him! How unprofessional. I then responded asking when they would be there and he said «morning» ok…
Once they got to my apartment I received a call for me to walk into the road to get my things because «his truck won’t fit» which was NOT true. Also, they had the address knowing it was a complex, why wouldn’t they plan ahead? Anyways… Me and my boyfriend walked into the road and they managed to drive into the complex after arguing with them about it. We paid $ 3000 to get our things moved and they can’t drive to the apartment and unload it?!? I was beyond livid. I wish I remembered the name of this man. We had to carry the belongings ourselves from the main complex road up to our 2^nd floor apartment or he was going to charge $ 200 to help. I have never written a bad review in my life, but if you are even desperate to find a moving company DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. All they care about is their paycheck and lack customer service skills. Even the lady that would answer the phone didn’t seem to know anything when asked. Next time I am renting a UHAUL and not thinking twice about it…
Also as to the comment from «Matt» of King David. I never received a file for a claim on my email, or I definitely would have filed as soon as possible. Funny how my card gets charged immediately after I get off the phone but I could never recover updates or emails about the situation, also the apology and responses to these bad reviews seem to be just a copy and paste method by this «company». It’s been 6 months since the move and I am still livid. Stay away from this company.
