Ok so I had a real f_​cked up day right. Just when the day is about to end about 10:35pm or so I hop in my car and 97.9 going so hard Im singing, dancing and doing drumline moves while Im driving (oops I didnt say that did I lol). Its amazing how music can affect our lives !!! Thanks guys at 97.9 for making my day (or night)!!!

Back in the day this station was good. But now, I think not. Like most major stations they play the same songs over and over. What a bummer. Imma jam my memory card! (yea, I did say IMMA) Did someone say payola?

I love this station. Even though they play mostly mainstream rap, hip/​hop, and R & B, they play a lot of local artists. I remember growing up and hearing the beginning of the whole SUC (screwed up click) and swisha house movement. Artists like Chamillionaire, Scarface, Fat Pat, Paul Wall, UGK, and Lil’ Flip got a lot of local play before they made it big. The box is never afraid to give a local guy a chance. With a city as talented as Houston I’m glad they have a place to shine.
