–Saw a great deal, $ 9991. for a used Mustang. I went through with the application and was approved through a bank. The salesman, Sal, called me to tell me that I was approved with 2K down. My credit is not stellar so I expect this is normal. But then he says in cash only. I come to the dealership, I figure 9991. + TTL, probably looking at around 11K so I can see where the bank would want 2K down. Here comes the BS… get down to the paperwork at the dealership and the amount being financed is still over 11K even after the 2K down. The finance manager Santiago and the salesman Sal had the nerve to repeatedly explain to me that the, over 11K, price was the amount now because the bank was now including fees because of bad credit. I can’t believe that some people actually beleive this. The 2K «in cash only» that I brought wasn’t reflected anywhere on the documents. They repeatedly tried to explain, that the bank WAS getting this money, this was just the way the paperwork was set up. When I later called the bank that I was approved through I found out that there were no extra fees at all. What there was, was a discrepancy of the price of the vehicle. The Houston Direct Auto dealership was submitting a loan request for over 13K for the Mustang showing my 2K down, leaving the total amount financed, 11K. Calling them out made absolutely no difference. They stood by there word, bank fees and bad credit… the lending company said they have no fees at all. Their fees are the high interest. I’m pissed #1 because they repeatedly insulted my intelligence, trying to claim that price as truth after «bank fees». It’s sad that there are actually people that just need anyone to finance them or don’t understand all the jargon and they actually go through with this crap feeling it’s their only hope. You ought to be ashamed! #2 I really liked the car and even though my credit union offered to buy the loan, I could never bring myself to do business with these crooks!!! Isn’t there something illegal with this? And please tell me who else I can report these thieves to.

My step-​daughter was in a rush — 8 1/​months pregnant — and did not get her mechanic to look at the car. She put down $ 500 cash deposit while they sent the car out for a tuneup. (Tune up — would they notice engine problems?) 2005 Nissan Altima. When she picked up the car she paid $ 3000 cash and they agreed to let her pay the tax title and license + balance ($ 500 total) when the plates arrived. The engine blew before the plates arrived. Not even 30 days. Cars in Texas are sold AS IS.
JUST UNDERSTAND — there is no 30 day guarantee no matter what the sign says. AND THEY WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU IN ANY WAY. See a mechanic or do not buy from them.
I mistakenly called a business with a similar name and they were willing to work out something. When we found it was not them but Houston Direct Auto Inc. I called and they were not interested in working with anyone. In my opinion they KNOW they are selling defective cars so just stay away from them. From the reviews and my experience they are the stereo-​typically slimy used car sales people that just want to take your money and give you nothing of value in return.

On December 19, 2013, I purchased a 2001 Isuzu Trooper this company. It was advertised in Craig’s List as if an individual were selling the vehicle. I called the phone number in the Craig’s list add, and spoke with Michael. He told me the vehicle was at the location 5918 SW Frwy. When I got there to look at the vehicle I was greeted by Michael, and was surprised to see that this was not an individual selling a car, but a used car dealership. I liked the vehicle, and I purchased it, but I purchased the vehicle from Houston Direct Auto, Inc., not Michael. During the purchase of the vehicle I was given a Buyer’s Guide warranty on the engine, and transmission, and a promise that I could come back to have the STATE INSPECTION DONE (they sold me a vehicle without a state inspection.)
On December 21, 2013 the vehicle broke down on me. It would not drive over 30 miles per hour. I asked for a refund at that time because I thought I was entitled to a refund since the vehicle broke down and it had been less than 72 hours. They refused to give me a refund, but said they would make repairs to the vehicle. I left the vehicle with them to make the repairs and they did not return the vehicle to me until 8 WEEKS LATER. The entire 8 weeks I had to call and call, and go by the place of business just to get them to complete the work on the vehicle, and during those weeks they would tell me it was ready when it was not. I even had to send certified letters. This entire mess was mentally draining. This place is nothing but a bunch of crooks. I would never ever recommend anyone purchase a vehicle from this place.
