I would never recommend this company to a person I actually liked. So many problems with this company. First, I made an appointment to hang a new backdoor. They said they could come out, with the door if I texted them pictures — 9am sharp in a few days. Okay. The day of at 9:20am, nobody shows. I call, and they tell me they’ll call me back. Nobody calls. 9:40 I call again and the scheduler says ‘they didn’t call you? Well, he’s on his way. Should be there in 20 minutes’. I ask the scheduler if he has the door and she replies ‘yes, he does’. The handyman finally calls and says he’s on his way. I ask «20 minutes, right?». He says «20 minutes? Eh, I’ll try.» I say «You have the door, right?» He says «door? No. No door.» So, after 10am, he shows up, his boss brings the door later. Okay, so that should be the end of the problem, right? But then he breaks part of the siding next to the door on the outside. I just ask him to glue it back on. He has paint that matches, so I didn’t feel it was a big deal. He starts to hem and haw about how he didn’t break that — he doesn’t want to fix it. I told him I would show him the picture of the back door from a few days ago that shows it unbroken. He fixed it then. The new door doesn’t go in as far as the old door did. There is a gap between the tile and the door. I asked if he could recommend something to put there. He said grout the inch area myself. This is a handyman company and he wouldn’t grout and charge for me it. I had to do that. When he was leaving, he told me to call in to pay. I call in, they tell me they’ll call me back. They don’t. I call 5 days later because I haven’t been charged yet. They supposedly sent the bill to the wrong email address. I pay over the phone at this time. Within a week, the door they hung moved in a way that it won’t lock now. At all. I have called and called and begged for them to send someone out to fix my exterior door (yes, for free) and not ONE person has called me back. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.

Fred & Taylor and their team do a great job for my clients. As a real estate agent, it is so very helpful to have a professional to go over inspection reports with to get actual repair costs of the items on the report. They have always done a great job with repairs for my clients and they are the most professional handy-​man service I have used. Thanks for all the help!

I have complete confidence in this company and recommend it highly! They are the good guys!

We had several projects to be completed around our house, including having a cabinet built, adjusting a ceiling fixture, painting, and adding a light fixture outside our front door.
Fred is very nice however he over-​promised and under-​delivered. We ended up having an incomplete cabinet in our game room, in which my husband had to have the glass custom-​ordered and he had to pick it up across town AND install it himself. The paint job is a mess on the wood. The doors do not open properly. The shelves on the inside had to be redone 3 times for fear of toys falling on my daughter.
As for our fixture on the ceiling, he could not find the right paint match, and after at least 5 different paints purchased, we gave up and have to deal with a patchwork of a paint job on our ceiling. (every time he painted the area, he would create a larger and larger area to cover!)
Please keep in mind that we paid a large portion in advance to receive a discount.
This back and forth went on for 8 months. We were told this would be completed in two weeks. We ended not hearing from Fred again and not owing the small balance. I would have rather have paid the amount agreed up on and the project complete.
He did create some shelving in my daughter’s room free of charge using scrap wood from the cabinets, so that was a nice gesture, but overall, the months of headaches, canceled appointments, and 4 different people entering our homes throughout the project was not worth the money and time we spent.

Fred Merchant (owner of Honey Do List Services) has done various jobs around my house on four separate occasions — including painting, drywall repair, ceiling fan installation, sink faucet installation, etc… I can’t say enough good things about Fred. Not only does he (and his employees) do great work, they are responsive, honest and fair. On multiple occasions, he has helped me find a more affordable solution to the home repairs I needed.
Heather (who handles scheduling) is extremely nice and helpful too. She stays on top of the projects and always follows up when (or before) she’s supposed to. We don’t even contact other contractors anymore. We trust Fred and the team to take care of what we need for fair price.

Not a company to hire if you actually want the job done. I had contacted them about a fence job and was promised on a Friday that they would have someone out here on the following Monday morning at 9 AM. I received a phone call at 8:45 Monday morning from the guy who was supposed to be doing the job, saying that he had taken a tile job and would be tied up all day, unable to complete my previously scheduled job. I contacted the office again and asked them why had I not been notified earlier that their worker would not be doing the job as scheduled, but they said they «were just as surprised as I was» and would try to find another work crew to come out on Monday. Later in the day, I get a brief message from the original worker, saying that he doesn’t know why he was double booked, but would be here at 9 AM on Tuesday without a doubt. It is now noon on Tuesday and not only is no one here to do the job, but no one will answer phone calls or emails. Steer well clear of these people, they don’t really care about your business.

This was our first and probably last experience with honey do services. They had someone come out and give us an estimate and set the date. Then we find out they won’t be coming on the scheduled day. A little disheartening but not a big deal. We had a few small projects that needed to be done before we sell our home. Long story short they didn’t seem prepared and we had to go behind them to complete some tasks. Maybe it’s just me, but when you pay someone $ 1500 you dont expect to have to finish the job yourself.

My dog chewed up the window molding next to our front door. It was an eye sore but it remained that way for a long time.
I found Honey Do List Services through KatyPros. Heather answered my call and was very friendly and helpful. She even called me back when there was a cancellation to schedule an earlier appointment. Loved that.
Fred came by 3 days ago (10 min early) to look at the damaged molding and got to work right away. I was at work but my mom was there to meet Fred. She said that Fred was very nice and efficient. I came home and the molding was repaired and looked brand new.
Fred’s rates are competitive. I called around the previous week and some contractors quoted 1.5 times more than Fred. I am very happy with Honey Do’s customer service and workmanship. I am already writing a honey-​do list for Fred and his team to work on very soon.

My husband and I hired Honey Do List Services to paint the interior of our home. We were told by Fred Merchant the owner that the entire job would take 3 days so we hired him… Why do we regret hiring this man for the job? Day one of work his employee showed up late. His employee called me after his appointment time and asked for my address since he did not have it with him. When he finally showed up I paid him the deposit (around $ 500), gave him a key, asked how long he will be at the house, what time he will arrive the following morning and I then leave for work. Jeremy (the worker) told me he will work until around 4:00pm since he has school and that he will come back the following morning around 8:30am. On day one Jeremy did not show up with any supplies to start the job. No ladder, no paint brushes, nothing. That day I came home from work around 5:30pm and nothing was painted. The only thing Jeremy did was take off some wall plates. He used tools from a tool box that I had lying on the kitchen counter. Day two I leave for work around 7:30am expecting the guy to show up around 8ish. Again, I come home around 5:30pm and Jeremy didn’t even show up that day. I called Fred (the owner of the company) and instead of telling him Jeremy did not show up I asked him when they would be finished painting my home (ETA was 3 days and we already lost 2). He told me that he had a crew working on my house at that very moment and they should finish within a day. I asked Fred which house are they at because I was standing in my home and nobody was there nor was anything done that day or the day before. Fred then tells me he will call Jeremy and call me back. By then my husband and I decided we no longer wanted to use Fred. My husband called Fred and told him that we are no longer using his company for the paint job. Fred tried to explain what went wrong saying that the job wasn’t supposed to start until Wednesday however, he told me it would start on Tuesday and that was his fault. He also said that Jeremy was running late (this is Wednesday, day 2) and since he was running late he decided he wasn’t going to come out and work on the house. Needless to say Fred agreed to pay us back the remaining portion of our deposit, minus the cost of paint since it was already purchased. Fred said he would drop off the paint within a couple of days along with the deposit and our house key. Fred showed up with the paint but no check and no key. Fred said his accountant would mail us the check and key. We trusted his word since we used him in the past and did not experience a problem the last time we used him. A week passed and no check. We called Fred and get no answer. We left a voicemail and of course did not get a call back. It’s now been two months and we still have not heard back from Fred Merchant.
