The Heights Contemporary Fine Art Gallery & Event Space is an artist run space that provides a wide variety of creative services. The owner Heidi Powell-​Prera is a photographer and artist specializing in advertising, publishing, and portaiture. The space is available for private parties and special events. It is our goal to make your event a unique and enjoyable experience. Art consulting, Event Planning, promotional packages, commissions, etc…

We are a contemporary fine art gallery representing emerging artists from all over the world, with an emphasis on Southeast Texas and South American artists of all media, including Fine Art Photography and Sculpture. Now in our 7^th year, located on 19^th St., a beautiful street known for unique shops and galleries, we are proud to continue providing a unique space where art lovers can find original artwork by great local and international Artists. It is a must see spot for any art lover/​collector.

History

Established in 2005.

The gallery began as a cooperative of 6 artists Heidi Powell-​Prera, Willie Moe, Nicole Bent, Max Harrison, Kyle Fu, & Kevin Courtney.

Business Owner

Heidi Powell-​Prera is from Guatemala City, Guatemala and has been living in Houston since 1986. She studied photography under Amy Blakemore at the Glasselle School of Art and learned commercial work with several local photographers. Her passion lies in working with creative, amazing, talented people. A long time fan of Music, Art, Fashion, Film, and everything else that is Fabulous and always at home in nature. Heidi is a multitalented person who can be of help in any creative project. Through Heights Contemporary Heidi has hosted many art exhibitions for local and international artists in the Heights and in other parts of the city for 10 years. Working as an artist in Houston for over 20+yrs Heidi knows the best of the best and can put together a team to do a commercial, a film, a band, a show, an event, etc… Currently she is working out of Photography by Design on West 19^th St and Stone Studios on East 11^th. offering Photography and Graphic Design services to creatives in all fields
