the worst service i have ever had on 6935 harrisburg ! paid 35.00 for myself and my family, my 8yr old daught got charged for an adult… she only eats a chicken leg and fries! i have never been to this location and i will never ever go back! the bitch behind the counter was apparently the manager. she was lucky i had my kids with me cuz i was gonna drag her ass across the room! they have a limit of 2 chicken tenders per person wtf? never have i heard of any other location doing this. arguing and yelling(damn near screaming) back and forth with this unprofessional person she told me i should of check the food before i paid. last time i checked hartz is a buffet! there were no fries on the line. no chicken tenders because of the limit which there are no signs specifing that, all they had were thighs. fish and gizzards. oh… and fried rice lol she refused to give me refund for the shitty food that we didnt get to enjoy. dont waste your time or money here. i called the location on telephone rd and i was told they never heard of such thing. they were just as shocked as i was. the managers name was lisa and she is a fucking china… no wonder why they had fried rice… the bitch wants to manage a restaurant but cant even manage to keep her food line full and i feel sorry for the employees that work for she seems to belittle them making faces behind their backs. im beyond pissed! my kids didnt even get to eat and had to witness me arguing with this ignorant bitch!

I’ve worked in 2nd Ward for almost three years now, and JUST decided to stop by this Hartz location to see why so many of my coworkers frequent the place to get their brown bag special. If you’ve been to Hartz, you know what that means, but if not, I only say that because the take out is usually placed in a brown bag – visibly showcasing how unhealthy(but good) the food is by the amount of grease that seeps through the bag. Think of it this way: If cars need oil to operate, don’t we humans need a little oil in our life too?! Maybe not everyday, but once in awhile works! Back in the day, I use to love the Tejas wings! They’re Hartzs’ rendition of the Buffalo Wing. Some places have them and some don’t. Since my allergies have been acting up, some powerfully hot chicken wings would definitely clear out the sinuses, but I’m so burnt out on chicken right now… decided to go with the Krispy Fish, another one of my Hartz’s favorite. The cheapest Fish meal includes two pieces of fish, a side, and a drink with a yeast roll for $ 5.49 + tax. Although the golden cut french fries did look delish, I decided to get the fried okra, which only a few places can really cook to perfection. When I drove back to work with my meal, I was extremely impressed: Food was still hot, Krispy Fish was legit, okra fried to my expectations, and the yeast roll was fresh, but pretty dense(felt like a baseball in my hands)! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal with a throwback, Fanta Red soda on ice, and fought back the sleepitis the rest of my work day because I was full! So you may be asking: if the food was that good, why did the place get three stars? Due to the small vicinity, people were continually running into each other while I was there. This location also hosts the infamous buffet, which had drawn many customers pack the inside up to the brim. In fact, soon as you walk in you’ll see chairs on the left and right side of the doors. The counter and the soda water fountain are arms length away from each other and the buffet is almost the same distance away from the door as well. VERYTIGHTSQUEEZE! Just ordering to go will find you constantly two steeppin’ to the right and left of people ordering food, getting refills, or the crew members coming from behind the counter to fill up the buffet or clean the floor. I would not have minded as much if I hadn’t been talking to my coworker who happened to stop by as well to pick up lunch. We barely could hear each other and we were standing right in front of each other. As much as the food looked exceptionally good on the buffet, I cannot digest my food properly with a bunch of noise, I like to converse while I talk so I won’t overeat: P If you’re like me, you wouldn’t dine here, but that didn’t stop the other patrons from chowing down something furious on this Hartz buffet, which is rather tiny by the way – maybe 8 bins of food total(I’ve seen much bigger Hartz buffets). In all, this place would be great for takeout, but dining in a no go. If you know what you want, maybe see if you can call in the order and pick it up via drive thru. Otherwise, expect a loud and crowded wait inside. BTW: $ 5.00 minimum with credit card purchase or you get charged a fee.

I grew up on Hartz Chicken and most times, as a franchise, they are hit or miss. However, this particular location on a Wednesday night had fresh food. The chicken was crisp and juicy. The mashed potatoes and gravy were of KFC quality and the yeast rolls were fresh and buttery. I didn’t get to try the peach cobbler, but there’s always next time. My only beef was that they give you to-go cups for your buffet, but don’t provide lids.

It was our first visit to this location, we found that the food was fresh and hot. As we sat and ate our food the buffet was filled as each item was needed, which had the food always fresh. The staff kept the buffet area very clean, I noticed that after each time that a customer stepped away after serving themselves, the staff clean the area. To the owner… we will be back.
