Gulf Coast Windows

We contacted Gulf Coast Windows to replace all 12 windows in our 30 year old home because we wanted high quality composite windows and a member of our family had a poor experience with the other composite dealer in town. Our salesman was very professional, showed us all the window features, gave good advice in picking the best options for our home, and gave us a quote during the visit. The installation crew showed up on time, completed the job in one day, took care to minimize construction dust, did excellent work and showed us how to operate the windows. Our salesman also dropped by during the installation to check on things. We are happy with our choice look forward enjoying them for decades to come.

They have wasted both my time and theirs. had Gulf Coast measure approx. 100 windows (yes, 100), in order to provide a replacement cost estimate. After not hearing from Gulf Coast for 2 weeks, I called their office to see what the issue was. I was told the estimator would call me back. That was over a week ago. I’m not sure about the quality of Gulf Coast Windows or their work, but I’d suggest that if you have a large project, they probably aren’t the company for you.

Best construction crew ever in my house. Fast clean and nice. I cant wait for the next round of windows to be installed.

Have not been successful getting Gulf Coast to come out and fix six windows that we cannot open and shut. This has been going on for a year! They are now blaming the manufacturer but we have yet to see them either. So disappointed.

My husband and I and our contractor met with salesman «Andy» on Tues Feb 23 at noon (showed up late but we were impressed with his presentation.) We needed a 9 foot window for a kitchen remodel that was currently under way. We were shocked that the turnaround time was 4 – 6 weeks and explained to him that we needed something in ²⁄₃ weeks. He helped us pick out a lovely window and, based on our selections, assured us that he would do all in his power to expedite the order and it should be able to make it to us in ²⁄₃ weeks. We were extremely impressed with him and his willingness to work with us to expedite our order and just his overall presentation (I even called the company that afternoon to compliment him) and glowing praises James Fiume and his company, their product and warranty. We told him we wanted to purchase the windows as discussed, but that we had an appt. scheduled with another vendor (Window World) in an hour and would like to honor that commitment out of courtesy. He asked us to cancel appointment with the other vendor and told us the WW product would be much cheaper but they were not as good and their warranty wasn’t as good. I told him I absolutely would not cancel because that is unprofessional. He then said, «well if you sign everything now and place your deposit I can get your window order turned in TODAY! if you want any chance of getting the window within ²⁄₃ weeks I have to turn in the order TODAY!» By «turn in the order» the 3 of us present all were led to believe that meant the window was ORDERED THAT DAY… now the GCW says that is not the case that the orders only go in at noon one day a week (Tuesday). Since it was already after noon on Tuesday when we met with Andy, we have since found that the order sat on someone’s (Candice we are told) for over a week. Also we have since been told that customer has 72 hours to change mind so an order would never be placed prior to 72 hours after signing contract. AGAIN… NONE OF THIS WAS MENTIONED AT ANY POINT IN TIME ON THE INITIAL CONSULTATION SALES PITCH. Andy wrote 4 – 6 weeks on the contract («oh we just have to write that BUT DON’T WORRY IT WON’T BE ANYWHERE NEAR THAT»). So based on his pressuring us to sign everything on the spot so that he could «turn the order in» we did so and placed deposit even before meeting with the other vendor. The meeting with Window World rep consisted of us walking out to his car, him taking out a window pane out of his trunk and jumping on it in our yard. he invited us to do the same-​we declined. WW price was 3 times less than GCW but we still felt good about our decision until TODAY MARCH 3RD when someone from GCW called me to schedule a time to come out and measure so that he could ORDER OUR WINDOW!!! I was shocked and horrified to find out our window had not even been ordered (per the man who called me) Multiple phone calls were never returned until finally I called again and got «Robert» who acted as if he could care less that our window wasn’t ordered on ²⁄₂₃ as Andy told us it would be. I asked over and over… Did he lie? Robert’s response was «maybe he didn’t know that orders can only be placed before noon on Tuesday» RIDICULOUS! A salesman who doesn’t know when orders have to be turned in! This Robert manager just kept saying «its no big deal you’re going to get your window as stated on your contract» which is mid-April.I told him NO Andy said it would be expedited for 2 to 3 weeks and he laughed and said «READ YOUR CONTRACT» I continued to reiterate to him that the reason we went with his company and were willing to pay 3X more was because of all this amazing customer service we’d heard about and that I certainly wasn’t experiencing that on ANY LEVEL whatsoever. I said I want to cancel my order and was told no it was more than 72 hours and I couldn’t. HOW CONVENIENT FOR THEM not to have notified me that the window was not going to be ordered on the day that was promised. I then asked to speak to the illustrious JAMES FIUME who is supposed to be the epitome of all things family oriented and customer service driven. haven’t heard from him either. this Robert person offered to have several other people call us (none have). Andy has since called and explained that there was an error on «Candice’s» part and that despite several phone calls from him (Andy) trying to explain the ordering/​expedited situation it still «fell through the cracks». Andy also had been aware of the error and yet failed to call and notify me of the problem. Also Robert says the installer who called me to schedule a time to come measure should not have called. I’ll bet since that’s what tipped me off that the windows had not been ordered! I received conflicting answers as to when or IF windows have even been ordered. Rbt said they had, installer said they hadn’t, Andy said he wasn’t sure. When you pay this MUCH for something you expect far better than this utter chaos! I asked Andy for a discount… Shockingly no response!

Terrible customer service. Rude owner who doesn’t stand by his products. The 2 windows I bought are poorly constructed and missing parts. Since I accepted them and signed the paperwork when they were delivered with the screens covering them and wrapped in plastic, I have no recourse according to them. My dad was even ‘friends’ with the head guy over there. Did no good. It was a terrible experience and believe me I have had my fair share of negative construction stories. Buyer beware. The 2 Windows were astronomically expensive. This was last year in April. So dissatisfied! Ugh.

Please use any other window installer. First of all, they are incredibly more expensive than their competitors, but we chose them anyway because of their warranty and claims of great service. Lies. They failed to make any appointment at our house on time, even arriving on the wrong day, never called when they said they would, and then installed the windows incorrectly — breaking bricks on our home and cracking the windows. They did reinstall them, but it necessitated multiple extra days off of work to meet inspectors, and installers who when they didn’t show up on the right day or time required additional rescheduling and more days off. We have lost not only the money we paid them, but are now out of money from work too. We simply asked for a 20% refund and that was it (I thought that was exceedingly generous on my part) to accommodate for lost wages, lost time and the inconvenience but they have said no. «The contract protects them,» or so they say. The contract protects them from liability, yes, but within reasonable limits — this is not reasonable and they have admitted that. Additionally, they nullified the contract by not upholding their end — the contract states they will only send qualified and trained craftsmen (clearly they didn’t because they would have done it right the first time), and that they would be on time (clearly they weren’t). So thousands of dollars later, we lost even more money than we should have. So use any other company! Seriously, note the number of negative comments here!

Two hours of our lives we will never get back. Two hours of asking for a quote. And when he gave it to me… he asked me to hand it back. I couldn’t keep it. He had to turn it in to his office. 2 ½ times the cost of our other quotes. He found a coupon in his car.
I can assure you that Michael Berry did not have to endure this or he would not be endorsing them.

This was the weirdest sales call ever. Had an appointment the salesman came out gave us his sales pitch measured all windows, then came in and said we needed to reschedule? I asked why are we rescheduling? Gave some story he didn’t have the window, etc, etc. He asked if he could come back at 6 p.m. I said sure. Never heard a word from him, no a phone call nothing. It has been two weeks. Even sent a email to the company no response. Since then I have received quotes from 4 other window companies. They have some serious issues with sales people.

Came out pitched their windows for 2 hrs left said they would send me the quote never heard back. Thanks for letting me know before I wasted any more time especially money

On June 5 2015 a salesman came out to be measured by «highly qualified craftmen». I was told my 31″ x 81″ door would match the identical window perfectly. It should for $ 5,271. I specifically asked when the door would be installed and was told 2 – 3 weeks. On June 26^th my salesman, Michael Renttfrow, called to tell me they couldn’t find anyone to build just the door. I’d have to replace the door and window but they would generously eat half the cost. Sooooo… one, they don’t build custom doors like I was told. Two, they aren’t concerned about a client’s timeline. Three, they are not concerned at all about being in breach of contract. The contract they signed that they would provide a perfectly matched door for $ 5,271. I’ve requested senior management, James Fiume, to call.

This is the third time I’ve used Gulf Coast Windows in trying to replace all of the cheap windows the builder originally installed when building my house. I have 2 more to go which will, again, be Gulf Coast Windows! As with the previous times, the installers were on time, prepared and, ironically, a father and son team this time who worked well together and did an exceptional job. Alex and Roberto should be commended for their attention to detail, neatness and pleasant demeanor. I am looking forward to completing the replacement of my windows and would wholeheartedly recommend Gulf Coast Windows to anyone.

I am having buyer’s remorse about the cost of these windows. I had 9 windows replaced to the tune of 9K. Believe me, they are the «cadillac» when it comes to construction, and they were properly and professionally installed. However, when you go to sell you home, I seriously doubt that any potential buyer will jump up and say «wow, you have Gulf Coast vinyl windows» instead of a less expensive brand.
Also, the additional cost is being borne by you, the consumer, to advertise on conservative talk radio shows. I have other vinyl windows in my home that are about ½ the cost, perform near as good as the Gulf Coast window «cadillac version.» Personally, I wish I had chosen them first…
