The first time I EVER had the experience of being blessed with this«SUPERNOVA» was in the gloomy town of Midland, TX. Not knowing what to expect, I walked in to what I thought was a typical burger joint. Boy to my surprise! I’m such a fan of Thai food that I HAD to try the Thai burger(if you are allergic to peanuts, this is NOT for you) the combination of peanut butter with fresh beef, coconut & a sweet sauce is EVERYTHING! Add avocado & you might assume to be in heaven. Now that I’m back in Houston, to my surprise there’s been a location here for over 2 years now! «Oh to eat another one of these burgers, excited I am!» in my Yoda voice… lol. This location is in the City Center but off the beaten path so it kinda gets looked over. The manager was VERY polite & informative on this Burger Bar’s lineage but did inform me that word of mouth has kept them going so, IDK… if you like burgers or not but, trust me, there are at least 20 different burgers to choose from. My wife had the Jive Turkey & stated that it was EVERYTHING! The fries are decent but the onion rings go hard, they were missing seasoning but nothing a quick dip in the Chipotle Aioli couldn’t fix. Also, if you like jalapeños, ask for some roasted on the side… an awesome compliment!!! See you there!

I visited Grub with my coworkers for a business lunch. I’ll admit this, I haven’t been the biggest fan of burgers and eating a full one for lunch was a bit excessive for me. That being said, I ordered from the kid’s menu for a smaller portion and healthier sides(apple slices anyone?). Now keep in mind, the kid’s set meal was only $ 5. I’m always well aware that I wasn’t contributing as much margin as the rest of their customers, so I ordered a root beer float(around $ 5 as well). I ended up paying $ 12 for that… turns out there’s a $ 2 «adult upcharge» Hey, I know that it isn’t necessarily the coolest thing for a 5 feet, 110 lbs female to order from the kid’s menu. but seriously? a 40% «adult upcharge»? COMEON! That being said, the patty was juicy and flavorful(amid the lack of condiments on a kid burger. sigh, I know, I did this to myself), and the buns were buttery and fresh. The root beer float was good, too… they didn’t use anything generic! IBC has a good kick to it. my coworkers both got the burger with guacamole, they commented on the chipotle sauce not coming through and it could have used a bit more guac. The best part of the meal was when my boss asked, «did they at least give you a toy for the $ 2»? we agreed that next time I can pretend to be his niece for bring-your-child-to-work-day.

This place was great! The food was good too! The owner is probably 50 years old but runs around with the young employees like a spring chicken. Very positive vibes! Their burger niche is like none other making them unique while staying delicious! Done at the wild side or stay at the more café ish side. Either way order a burger and get your grub on!!! «I like it a lot»! Grub Burger bar your gonna go far!!!

Came here for happy hour and loved their selection of shakes and food during happy hour, we got a chocolate shake that came with pretzel and chips and it was delicious, good amount of alcohol and nicely decorated, we also ordered the Lula which was massive for the price, good enough to share between 2 people, great atmosphere and service, will come back for their burgers

Good place for a unique burger experience however the burger I got wasn’t amazing. I think I’ll try another next time. The milkshakes are amazing enough to keep me coming back. Soooo yummy!

I loovvveeee burgers. That’s my go to food tbh. Today was my second time at Grub Burgers. I tried the«Greek to Me» and my boyfriend got the«Lockhart Legend». We also got one order of fries and one kitchen sink milkshake. The first time we came, it was during Black Friday and surprisingly, they were not busy! Today it was PACKED! Our food wasn’t as good as the long time. At the end of the kitchen milkshake, it got super salty, so we ended up throwing ¼ left of it away. There’s not too much service involved. You order your food at the counter, get a tracker, and get your food delivered. The girl who delivered our food was also the cashier. I asked for mayo, and never got it, so I went inside to the kitchen area and ask myself. The environment is very chill, we always sit outside. Underage go drink so never did happy hour or anything… I would recommend this place! Just don’t do lunch rush, they get carry away.

Ok so we get here at like 6:00pm on a Saturday night and the place was busy as heck. We pick a burger, pay and then end up waiting for almost 40 min. We had to leave to get to a movie that started at 7:00pm, so I ended up asking the manager if we could get a refund for the burgers and we wood pay for the beer. Tyler apologized and refunded everything. He told us if after the movie we were hungry to come back and burgers were on them. We came back and not only did they remember us, they comped us an entire meal. Perfect customer service and even better burgers. More places should use this type of behavior as an example as how to run their business. I will hands down be coming back here!

The burger here was pretty good! Felt like i was back home in cali. Would defently eat here again! Services was good. 4stars only because food was a bit pricey and my sister said she didnt get the extra stuff on her burger she asked for. but other than that pretty good… oh and would be nicer if they had a vegan opition … really happy they had a Gluten free option.

After a 3-mile run, my boyfriend and I decided to check out this place. We split the Ghost burger and the cheese fries(with chili and onions added). My boyfriend ordered the Stubborn Mule, and I had the Jalapeño Lemonade. The burger was delicious. The meat was cooked just right, and the bun was toasted and buttery. I enjoyed the spicy kick from the burger. I also liked the cheese fries. The thin cut fries were crispy but could use more seasoning. The drinks were not impressive. Both our drinks tasted watered down, although I would pick the Stubborn Mule over the Jalapeño Lemonade. The mule tasted a little bit more refreshing. All in all, it’s an alright place. I would come back. Definitely want to try the spiked shakes next time :)

Dirty kitchen sink spiked milkshake. Yummy! My hubby doesn’t like coffee but he didn’t mind the coffee grounds in this one. Very filling. Manager is super nice and he knows how to make you feel like party of the family!

Now, to be fair this is NOT the best burger in Houston by any stretch of the imagination. But it is good… really good actually. We arrived just as they opened for the day, in fact we were the second people to order. I had a BBQ cheddar burger that came topped with an onion ring, and it was SO tasty. The sauce was a little sweet, a little tangy, but good and flavorful. The onion ring was greasy but in a good way seeing as how we had a few cocktails in City Center the night before. Gooey melted cheese, fresh bun, well seasoned beef patty, cooked to perfect Medium Well. What more can you ask for? I am looking forward to returning when the weather is nicer out, as they have a nice looking little bar with a fun outdoor patio/balcony in the back. Oh, and just to note, I have read a couple complaints about price, but I found the price to be very reasonable. For two burgers, two sides and two drinks, after tax our bill was just over $ 27. That seems fair to me, particularly when you compare it to other burger joints in the area that don’t come close to this tasty.

Parking can be a pain, then you have to walk quite a distance to the restaurant. It’s a nice place and it’s packed on a Saturday night. Service is fast and friendly. It can be hard to find a table but you can sit at the bar which has a big screen. I had the jive turkey burger and skinny fries, it was good but nothing impressive. The fries were good also. It was ok and an average experience, maybe next time I will splurge on the calories and order a donut milkshake and a different type of burger.

Cool place, LOVE the melon basil margarita! What made the experience was the high level of service we received from Tyler. This guy is awesome! We went on New year’s eve, and the POS system went down, but he kept his cool and worked his butt off to keep everyone happy. Him, and the rest of the staff there definitely impressed me with how they handled the situation. We’ll definitely be back!

A great place to bring a large group of people! It’s located on the second floor and it’s sorta narrow once you walk in. The burgers are delicious and their fries are made to perfection. Make sure to get a dipping sauce because you will not be disappointed!

When I first walked into Grub Burger, I was impressed by the chill atmosphere, modern light fixtures, and large space. Additionally, the employees were extremely nice, and definitely helped me make my burger decisions. I ended up ordering the Thai Peanut burger. While conceptually, it sounded very appealing: peanut burger, peanuts, cilantro on a patty, the execution didn’t really mesh well together. Was it sweet? Was it savory? It was more of a mix between the two that wasn’t bad per se, but I wouldn’t order it again. I also ordered their fries, which while crisp and delicious, could’ve used some more seasoning. Grub Burger can boast above average ambiance and stellar service, but I wasn’t exactly impressed by their food. Maybe if I’m back in the area, I’ll come back and give them another shot, but it’s not something I would go out of my way for. Service 4⁄5 Food 3⁄5 Ambiance 4⁄5

If you’re ever in the area and is craving a burger, definitely check this place out! I went with my S/O and we ordered a Lockhart Legend and a Texas Luau. The Lockhart legend is like your typical southern BBQ burger, and is a good go to as it is quite fulfilling and delicious. The Texas Luau, on the other hand, is a must try. The pineapple compliments the tender shredded meat, and the light BBQ tops it all off. Each bite makes you wanting more and more. The servers were all very chill and attentive, and the wait is very reasonable. The shakes are also a really good dessert(I ordered the worms and dirt), although they are a bit expensive. All in all, a great place to go with your friends and enjoy a satisfying burger.

My boyfriend and I are always on the lookout for great burger joints and this place is definitely one of them. I got the Texas Luau while he ordered the Lockhart Legend. The Texas luau is a meaty burger with a great punch to it, with pulled pork and a beef patty cooked medium well. The slice of pineapple gives the burger an extra dimension of sweetness while the addition of barbecue sauce combines all the flavors to make a great burger. If you’re looking for a classic southern burger, the Lockhart legend is the way to go. Not to mention, the sauce is made from Dr. Pepper! We ordered a «worms and dirt» shake for dessert, which is basically a vanilla shake with crushed Oreos topped with gummy worms. Another item on the menu that does not disappoint!

The first time I tried a Grub burger a while back, I remember it being okay and nothing special. I came with a friend and had the OMG which, on paper, sounded so good. the chili really covered up the taste of the patty. The second time around, I decided to go with the Lockhart Legend so I could get my bacon cheeseburger. This time, I asked them to hold off the BBQ sauce because I just wanted a good old fashioned bacon cheeseburger but I did ask for a fried egg on top of the burger. And I gotta say, it wasn’t bad at all. A good sized patty with cheese, delicious bacon, pickles, and topped with two good sized onion rings. I also tried some of their fries as well and although the burger wasn’t bad, the fries were the best thing for the night. When I’m at a burger bar, I’d expect the burger to be the best thing that I’m eating. This was not the case, unfortunately. The wait time for your food is reasonable. If you’re sitting at the bar, those people who work the bar the night I was there were super friendly and chatty and always checking up on you. They serve a few draft beers(blue moon, angry orchard, shiner, to name a few) in the bar area, and also bottled beers and liquor. If you’re craving some dessert, try the salted caramel bourbon milkshake. My friend ordered this, I had a taste and it was de-li-cious! Grub is not the kind of place that I’d go out of my way to visit. Although the burgers are okay and the prices are pretty much what you’d expect to pay at a place like this; they’re just not that impressive. In addition, on weekends, this place will be overrun by some teenage kids hanging out. My friend who’s a teacher ran into plenty of her students here. If you’re in the area and just want some burger, go check this place out. But if you’re just craving some really good burgers, then make your way out to Stanton’s or the other many places in Houston that serves delicious, juicy burgers.

Interesting pairings, juicy burger patties, and consistency make this a great place to… *wait for it*… get your Grub on. Luau Burger: 5 of 5. After you read the description, you think«that’s interesting» then followed by some logic of «that’s kinda questionable». This definitely isn’t really at the top of your list compared to their other options. I wasn’t feeling as adventurous that day so I got the Luau. If you like pineapple and a little sweet sauce in your juicy burger, give this a shot. Their burger pattie was thick and dripping. The pulled pork had just a tiny kick to it. The teriyaki sauce when paired with the sweet grilled pineapple really brought everything together. I want to say the pineapple had to be fresh, not from a can, but I can’t confirm. Side salad: 3 of 5. Its basic, not as fresh as it should’ve been, I found some decaying leaves in my salad, but overall not worth as much as the skinny fries. The staff here is really friendly. We came in a group of 8 and were treated so well. They changed the TV so we could watch the game and switched the audio so we could hear. It wasn’t as easy as changing the channel and turning up the volume so I give them much props over that. Our food came out hot and fast and the staff was quick to respond and provide us with anything else we needed. 4 tea options from Katz tea, milkshakes, and crispy fries were all a hit. Dont forget the bar.

3-stars for Jive Turkey. It was way too seasoned. I didn’t even finish the second half and was overall grossed out. It will be a long time before I come back. 4-Manager on duty Saturday during lunch

I had a date here on a Saturday evening. It wasn’t overly crowded. We sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly, but she was not very attentive(checking back, giving refills, clearing out area). The manager made me the most amazing drink ever! I’m not sure what it’s called, and I don’t remember what was in it, but I do know it was delightful! The bartender tried to replicate it but failed miserably…2x. The manager also gave us free sample of the spiked shake. It was also very good. I order the macaroni burger. It sounds a bit odd, but oh boy did it send my taste buds on wonderful trip! I am definitely going back to have it again before it’s removed from the menu(it’s a limited time offer special). I highly recommend.

I had to come back here again because my coworkers wanted to go to a place with a patio for happy hour, and they are the picky types, so RA sushi was an automatic no. Anyways, this time I ordered chicken tenders that came with their skinny fries. I ordered jalapeño ranch to go with the meal. So… their chicken tenders were odd. They kind of resembled being fried in calamari batter to me and since that was in my mind, I swore the chicken tenders started to taste/have the texture of/like calamari too. I would like to know what other people think after being aware of this lol. As usual, the skinny fries were phenomenal and crunchy, paired with the jalapeño ranch or just by itself. One of my coworkers ordered a front porch burger and said it was slippery, but good. The other girls had turkey burgers and mainly commented on how much they liked their fries. Everyone got the $ 4 margaritas but no one really wanted to try anything else on the alcohol menu, so I can’t review their drinks. I got 2 $ 4 ritas and may have felt a slight buzz. Their service was still really on point, so I’ll give them that. Work it, high school kids. You keep doing you! Oh yeah, and another odd thing that I didn’t notice before was that the fries do not, I repeat DONOT come with the burgers. They’re an extra $ 2 – 3. Burgers start at $ 8 I believe.

This is a review on the Tuna Burger only. I think it was called«burger of the sea». I think it was good but I was expecting more of a ahi tuna steak or slices, a little rare. It’s actually more like a crab cake but tuna. It’s crumbled tuna and fried. The cool thing though is that they put pickled ginger, like you use in sushi, in the burger. That was a good idea. I have to come back and review the burgers and probably change my rating. It can be crowded at lunch so come early but there is plenty of seating outside. I will definitely be back for the burgers!
