A recently designed master bedroom complete with bedding and draperies priced out about 50% of high-​end, ready-​made bedding. It included 100% textured silk duvet, embroidered linen drapery fabric, bed skirt and pillows, velvet Euro shams & featured a large lumbar pillow with a wonderful Edwardian linen print by famous fabric designer Melissa White of England for Zoffany fabrics. (Google her fabric work).

History

Established in 2013.

Loraine Thompson, owner/​designer, has years of experience in design with: (1) renowned furniture company Ethan Allen, Inc., spending time at their Connecticut corporate facility for a «Design Intensive» (2) an architect/​engineering firm (3) kitchen and bath remodeling (4) a large importer of natural stone (5) a window coverings boutique (6) years of custom home planning, with scaled drawings and renderings for structural changes (7) store planning for a «top 100» firm.

The company is currently designing a home addition of 500 sq. ft. to a historic Victorian home (built in 1904) in Livingston, Al. On-​going Houston projects include several drapery and bedding design projects in Houston, furnishings and accessories for two clients and recent plantation shutters installations.

Business Owner

Lead designer has many years experience in custom home planning and detailing, custom structural changes, kitchen and bath remodeling, as a designer for the prestigious furniture maker, Ethan Allen, Inc. and in commercial work with an arch. firm.

Truly a designer from childhood, she has an enthusiasm and passion for her craft which is contagious! She has a collection of custom home designs and numerous remodeling projects in her portfolio. Loraine’s color sense is keen and her use of texture, light and shadow make the firm’s creations interesting spaces. Clients often use words such as charm/​global appeal/​chic/​or serene/​but never trite.

With a Master’s degree in Space Planning /​Interior Design from Florida State University and experience in custom homes & real estate, Loraine and her contractors can advise on cost feasibility of remodeling jobs.

She has strong working relationships with licensed contractors, highly skilled craftsmen, & artists.
