I was very impressed with the work that Pedro and his team did at my house. They trimmed our sad looking palm tree as well as took down a branch that was on our roof from a neighbor’s tree. The service Pedro provided was not only professional, but efficient. They were done within a couple hours and didn’t leave a spec of palm tree debris in our backyard with our tree looking like new again. In fact they left the yard nicer then it was before they started the work. Pedro also provided clear communication throughout the process from the initial phone call to the estimate of work and completion. I will be sure to contact Pedro again for all my landscaping needs.

These guys did an excellent job trimming 3 trees that hang over our property. They had the best price and did a great job. They were able to trim parts of trees that I would not think that they could reach but they did it anyway. We are very happy with the service and we highly recommend them.

Extremely happy with Pedro and his crew. I had a roughly 20′ seven year old oak tree, roughly 2′ in diameter, that needed to be removed because it was going to soon create problems with the driveway. Being a member of
, I requested recommendations from my neighbourhood and Pedro was mentioned several times.
On September 15^th I sent him a text, including photographs of the tree and the area from which it needed to be removed. Within 10 minutes I received a reply, which included the price to cut down the tree, remove the debris, grind the stump/​roots, and clean up. Of the three companies from whom I had requested a quote, he was the first to reply — and with the cheapest price.
Scheduling was a breeze. I asked him on September 17^th about his availability and was told he could do it the upcoming Tuesday. He arrived promptly at 8 am on September 22^nd, as he said he would, with his crew. The job was completed within 40 minutes to my total satisfaction. Without hesitation, I would recommend him to any individual homeowner or HOA who uses a landscaping service for common areas.

Pedro and his crew did a great job, was fast, communicative, and very reasonably priced relative to the other vendors I talked to in Houston.
He removed a tree which was putting a crack in my patio and trimmed the less problematic trees in my yard. He also did a small amount of landscaping which including disposing of leftover lawn ornaments from the house’s prior owner, and trimming back some of the brush. The biggest job was pulled out the rusted metal patio trim which lined my garden, and replaced it with fresh bent metal trim.
The speed of which he was able to get in and finish the work was important since I was on a timeline to put my house up for sale. He supported the dates I asked for, and was very careful to clean up the space so it was ready to show. Overall, I was very happy with his service.

We asked for tree barrier quote from 2 companies, the second one being Gilbert’s tree service. We decided to go with Gilbert’s tree because their quote is the reasonable one. The first company was a joke, they qouted us 5K over Gilbert’s and tried to explain to us why it is expensive etc. like we were dummy. We knew how much approximately the materials and what is the reasonable price range. Pedro, from Gilbert’s tree, came and told us how much it would cost us and what material he used etc. We asked if he could install french drainage for us as well. He told us that he had extra large pipes (which is better for drainage) in his inventory and could give us better pricing. We decided to have both (root barrier and french drainage) done by his company. A few weeks later, we noted that the pipe in the back of our house surfaced a little bit. We took pictures and sent it to Pedro. He was quick in calling us back and told us they would fix it. His crew came and fixed it in no time. PLUS (this one we did not expect) they put more soil to smooth out the surface of the yard where they did some digging for the drainage pipes. Overall, we are very happy with Pedro’s company and will definitely use his company again for any tree-​related thing in the future.

These guys are GOOD, FAST and CHEAP. We’ve used them twice and will never go with any other tree service. By the time they were done grooming our trees and removing unkempt bushes on our property, it looked like a brand new house. Total facelift. Thanks, Pedro!

I called them up last week and it was difficult to tell you were reaching a place of business, as someone just said «hello.» The owner was not available at that time, but I was assured that he would call back later in the afternoon. He did not call back that day, however he did call back the next day and made an appointment to come take a look at our trees that we wanted trimmed and other trimmings we wanted hauled away as well. He looked and told me he would get back with me later about an estimate. Never heard back from him. I went up on the roof and cut the limbs myself yesterday. Saved me money I guess.

Tried contacting them 3 times with no response. First 2 X, left messages and 3^rd and last time, someone answered and said would contact me that day. But no one contacted me and therefore I guess they didn’t want my business…

They did a great job, and Pedro, my main contact, was very kind and helpful. I wanted to have some branches trimmed from my fan palm tree and it was only $ 35 — very cheap!
There were some minor problems that I don’t care about, but others might.
First, when setting an appointment for the estimate. We agreed on a date and general time, and they said they would call me 1 hour before they showed up, but they did not, and called me when they were already at my house. I was still at work at the time because I was expecting a call. Luckily, my gate was unlocked anyway for another project and they went in and looked and gave me an estimate over the phone.
Second, after the estimate, they said they would call me the next day to schedule the trimming, but did not call me until 4 days later. I was not in a rush so no big deal, but may be a problem for someone that wanted it done ASAP.
Third, we agreed that Pedro would come out around 5 or 6 to collect payment, but he never came or called.
Despite these minor problems, the service was nice, showed up to trimmed my tree as agreed upon, and cheap. I would recommend their services to anyone.

Unfortunately, i don’t have any good experience with them. Even though, Pedro was a pleasant person and showed up for the estimate in an acceptable time frame it was impossible to schedule the job. They made me come home and wait a few times and didn’t even return my call! And their price was just OK –certainly not the cheapest one but comparable with others. I

Gilbert’s tree service is dependable and efficient. We have used them for several years for our lawn maintenance. Pedro is well known in our neighborhood and everyone uses their service.

I called five tree services for estimates on the removal of three enormous fifty-​foot trees; two dying sycamores, with huge, dead branches hanging over my house and my neighbors house, and an oak leaning over my garage.
Two services never called me back. Two could not come out for several weeks.
Pedro at Gilbert’s Tree Service came to my home within a couple of days. He was pleasant and knowledgeable and gave me an estimate that was so reasonable that I called the other two services and cancelled their appointments.
Gilbert’s has all the professional equipment and crew needed to get the job done safely and efficiently. They arrived when they said they would and completed the work in one day. They neatly cleaned the yard and driveway of tree debris. Even the curb and street looked like they had been swept. As they were packing-​up their equipment my neighbors were coming out to get their contact information.
I would use Gilbert’s Tree Service again and absolutely recommend them.

These guys were great. I got 3 different quotes, and these guys were competitive, and I felt most comfortable with them. They did a REALLY good job — arrived on time, knew what they were doing, and even went beyond what we agreed on (ex. cut branches from other tress that were hanging on our property).

These guys are great. Ask for Pedro. I like that he’ll communicate via text message. We needed improperly planted oak trees removed and new appropriate trees planted as a replacements. He sent me pictures of holly trees from the nursery via MMS. Saves me time. Time savings makes me happy. His team was professional, on time, in uniform, and did all the removal and plantings perfectly. All items moved out of the way were re-​planted and seem to be well rooted again. Overall, happy with the service and the price.

The live oak in front of my house has needed a major trim for a couple years now. After getting a few bids to trim my tree, I went with Gilbert’s Tree Service. I called on a Saturday afternoon for an estimate, and Pedro was able to come out later that day and provide me with an estimate on the spot. The estimate was inclusive of taxes, unlike another tree trimming company. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted the tree to look like… I just knew it needed to be trimmed. Pedro recommended a look for the tree, and since I didn’t care, I went with it.
Pedro and his crew showed up at 7:50am and got to work right away. They trimmed the tree and cleaned up all the debris when they were done. They even moved my basil plant, so it wouldn’t get damaged. The tree now looks great!
I really appreciated how honest, reliable, and punctual they were.

After getting several bids to trim my large magnolias and elms, it became quickly apparent that Pedro and his team were up for the job. Pedro arrived the morning after my call to give an estimate and it became very clear that he has been doing this for awhile. His quote was on the lower side of proposals I received but what impressed me most was his ability to listen during the quote process. Once I awarded the job, he arrived with his crew, trucks, grinder, and chainsaws and they made quick work (3 hrs) out of what some of his competitors thought would be a full day job.
What is also useful is that Pedro was there to oversee the job and if his team wasn’t sure about a particular limb, they would stop and ask. They even found a spot high on my roof that had been worn by a limb and helped me patch it with tar. Oh, and my yard looked as if it had been manicured before they left.
Pedro has a great team, the equipment to get any job done, and puts the customer first. We will be using Gilbert again for our yard full of trees.

We were completely devastated when the VERY large tree in our front yard toppled over during a windstorm. Thankfully, the damage to our home was minimal, but we were still left with a giant tree sized mess to contend with. A quick Unilocal search brought me to Gilbert’s Tree Service. We called them around 5pm and Pedro was kind enough to drop by a few short hours later to survey the area. The estimate he gave us was more than fair and he even offered to complete the job the following day! Lucky us! Long story short, Pedro and his crew came by the next day and did a very thorough job, not just uprooting the tree, but ensuring that the debris was ready for the city to haul off on heavy trash day. All of this was done less than 24 hours after I had initially placed the call! We will definitely be telling our friends and fam about these guys :)

We used Gilbert’s Tree Service in fall 2012 to remove a couple of pine trees and crêpe myrtles from our property and grind a bunch of stumps. We had two tricky situations where young oak trees were basically swallowed up by crêpe myrtles. I wasn’t sure anyone could get rid of the crêpe myrtles without hurting the oaks, but these guys did so perfectly. We worked with Pedro, who was reasonably quick to respond with a quote, easy to communicate with regarding scheduling, and quite fastidious about the work. Pedro even helped my husband fix his chain saw while he was on site, which was very kind.
Their bids were definitely lower than some folks who provided an estimate. When I calculate the number of guys that came out and the number of hours they worked, I think Gilbert’s pricing was more than fair.
Gilbert’s has all the necessary licenses and insurance, so you don’t have to worry about being on the hook if a tree falls on your neighbor’s car or something. Thankfully, Gilbert’s is also good at what they do, so all our trees went exactly where they were supposed to.
