Breakfast tacos. Enough said.
Just kidding. But I’ve only been here during breakfast hours, and they definitely have one of my favorite breakfast tacos in the tunnels (second to Ninfa’s.) The tortillas are delicious and made in house. They have a lot of variety for what to add into your tacos, from sausage and eggs to chicharron and potatoes. You also have the option to add cheese or potatoes to any taco for a little extra charge. It’s about $ 2/​taco, which isn’t too bad. But they are smaller than most breakfast tacos you get.
If you’re not in the mood for a greasy, fatty, delicious breakfast taco… They also have a yogurt bar, which is absolutely amaaaazing. You create your own parfait. There’s everything from almonds to strawberries to pineapples to granola. Sometimes, they have different flavors of yogurt, but most of the times, it’s a plain vanilla. Regardless, I love that the have this, and when I want to have a lighter and healthier breakfast/​snack, I come by here.
I haven’t heard great things about the lunch here, so I think I’ll just stick to my breakfast

Not sure about the breakfast but the bbq is about as bad as I’ve had in Houston, and that’s saying a lot. The ribs are like chewing on jerky, but jerky has more flavor. The ribs have none without the sauce. The jalapeño sausage has very little heat. My friend that I went with ate one and asked me why I didn’t get the spicy. The flavor was ok. The mac and cheese was boxed and the okra was frozen.
There are other bbq places downtown that far and away surpass Frontier. This place is a write off.

They don’t use real cheese, they use imitation cheese which you can tell from all the oil in it. No real butter, something like oil. I get their waffles but have to get syrup and butter from McDonald’s because the imitation stuff will totally ruin your food. Worst of all, the ladies making food will tell the cashier what u have in Spanish if you are not hispanic. I watched and been victim of this prejudicial practice not once but several times and then watched as they did not do the same to Hispanics. For this, they don’t even get 2 stars.

I wouldn’t come here for the bbq but the breakfast is the main attraction. Authentic mexican food in my opinion. The tortillas could be a little larger for what they charge…

This is not real good bbq, however it is a easy place to grab lunch. If you want a simple meat and vegtable dish for lunch for a cheap price you are in luck. If you are really wanting bbq, this aint it. Chicken and veggies are great and fast.

I was in town from Austin and early for a customer appt and starving so I followed the herd downstairs into what seemed like an endless tunnel system I had no idea existed and seemed to have every cuisine imaginable.
I deciced I would walk until I found me some BBQ. I stopped here and checked it out (later I had a coworker tell me there are 1 – 2 other bbq places down there, will have to do more exploring)
I had the brisket, and ribs (and I believe turkey) and mashed potatoes and green beans.
From what I recall the meats were all decent, I had low expectations for a bbq place in a tunnel. The green beans were very good.

I didn’t eat bbq so my review may be biased. Four star for a tunnel venue.
I ordered the catfish with two sides. Catfish was breaded with cornmeal, not freshly fried but the cornmeal had an interesting consistency and the tartar sauce was very sour, so overall not bad.
For sides I got the green beans and potato salad. I would go back for the green beans, very plump and yummy. Potato salad also tasted home made (not some mushy commercial tasting blob, I liked the little cubes of potato and the seasoning).
My coworkers got the baked potato with bbq (somewhat healthier with smaller portion, but still sufficient for lunch and lots of sauce), and chicken fried steak (freshly made, looked very good with gravy).
My favorite part of this place: no line, no crowd, tv playing the Olympic games live, my colleages and I having a chance to tell silly jokes to each other and have a fun lunch during our otherwise mundane work day. Now that’s priceless.
