Excel Automotive Technology was built by Jay Meir and his wife, Neata Meir. Jay’s alway been passionate about cars while providing honest and ethical services. Really great service. Jay was helpful throughout the whole step. He answered my questions, gave me a free estimate, supervised in getting it fixed and explained some tidbits about my car. You’ve got a customer for life. I’ll never go to any other mechanic.

When it comes to my vehicles, my family or my pets, I will not be frugal nor cheap.
Jay’s constant «straight answer» philosophy and attention to detail makes me a customer for LIFE no matter the distance from door to door. Jay and his family of employees have worked on 5 of our family vehicles from foreign to domestics. Al fin, when you buy cheap, it costs double, Jay charges a bit more than other shops but you’ll only buy once.

I have the same great things to say about the owner, Jay. He walked me through the steps that he was going to take to address the issues I was having with my a/​c. One of his employees also took me to another location so I could go about my day. The prices are reasonable and I know that they will do good work on my car, so I don’t mind paying a little extra. I would definitely use Excel Automotive again and I would recommend this to anyone looking for great service and know they won’t get jipped.

The owner Jay is extremely knowledgable and also very trustworthy. I’ve taken my car in 3 times here and each time he explains exactly what going on with my car and will show the test results to me. His expertise and ability to show you WHY your car is acting up proves his honesty and credibility. He typically asks you to drop off your car in the morning and leave it for the day so he can take his time on it. His staff member will always take you to where you need to go and is happy to pick you up once your car is finished. Now THAT’S top notch customer service.

Nissan Maxima — 2010 — Rotor Repair & Checked Brake Pads
First time using Jay and Excel Automotive Technology. I am very pleased! I dropped off my car this morning at 7:15 a.m., the owner, Jay, drove me to work in the Greenway Plaza area, where I was at my desk before 7:30 a.m. He called a couple of hours later explaining the recommended repairs and the cost. I accepted the recommendation, and at approximately 1:30 p.m. my car was finished. Jay picked me up at work, drove me back to the shop, and I picked up my car. Very convenient, easy going, no nonsense, respectful. As a single woman, I was concerned there would be the predictable upsell or «your car won’t make it around the block» comment, but he was very respectful and straightfoward. My car drives great, and I would absolutely recommend his shop for anyone needing repairs. I’m so relieved to know I have a good mechanic on call now.

I have no idea why it’s taken me so long to review Excel… everyone in my family (even ex-​family members) have been going to Jay for years. Not only is Jay absolutely the nicest, most kind-​hearted person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, he (and his team) are also very efficient and accurate.
I couldn’t tell you how many times we’ve left our cars to the care of Jay. and all different kinds, too. From a beat-​up ford ranger to an aging Jaguar to a new Infinity, Honda and Z, he’s tackled them all. He even fully restored my mom’s old VW Bug from her high school days. I’m confident it looks better now than it did decades ago.
Most importantly, at least for me, is how honest and forthcoming they are. For what it’s worth, Jay is a religious man and I don’t know about you, but I would rather leave my car with someone with a strong moral and spiritual compass than with someone who’s only in it to make a buck. Just saying.
Being a girl, I hate going to dealership service departments and other auto places, because I feel like people are constantly trying to take advantage of your trust. ‘You need new tires… you need a new cabin filter… you need blah, blah, blah.’ Even if it’s true, I always second guess it, but usually cave in the end. With Jay, I know he will NEVER tell me I need to pay for an unnecessary service and, in the past, has even pointed out opportunities for me to save money regarding certain repairs.
I know there’s no where else in town we would or will ever be bringing our cars.
