Just moved from TN and sooo happy that I found Estilo Salon! I love how my hair turned out! Destiny did a fabulous job and I highly recommend her! She is a true artist. The salon is super easy to find and parking is not a problem at all.

The building is so beautiful and I love the natural light in it. The staff are all so friendly and beautiful. Destiny colored my hair and I feel so fabulous! Great work ladies! Xox

I come to Estilo to get my facial done by Vanessa. She is an amazing esthetician and does a fantastic job. She does a really good analysis of your skin and diagnoses exactly what your skin needs. The products are by Cosmedix and I use them on a daily basis at home as well. I really like the products and Vanessa always recommends a really good regimen if you are experiencing any skin issues. My only critique would be that she once gave me a more expensive facial without asking me if I was okay with the price difference. The facials are very expensive and I certainly did not want to pay for a more expensive one.

Wonderful service and friendly people. Very happy with my cut and the style. Would definitely recommend!

I was referred by Natalie King, a Houston area stylist, to get my hair done blonder by Mario, who is co-​owner with his sister Vanessa. Mario does amazing, beautiful hair. I’m a natural blonde with fine, curly hair, and he went a bit blonder with me. I’ve never seen my hair look so sleek and shiny! The atmosphere was super relaxing there the entire time, everyone was positive and there is a good rapport amongst the staff and customers. I am going back to get a facial from Vanessa. I will definitely be a frequent visitor to Estilo!

Austin did a great job with my color touch up today. He created a rich, medium brown color, and toned down the ends of my hair giving it a really vibrant and fresh look. Love it! He has such a positive energy that is so contagious — I’m always smiling. Thank you Austin!

Megan did a fantabulous job on my color! I moved to Houston from California 2 years ago and thought I would never find a colorist around here who knows their stuff. Thank God for Megan! She knew exactly what my hair needed and I am truly happy with the results.

I decided to try Estilo Salon because the stylist that I have seen for years is always booked like 3 months in advance and I desperately needed a color and cut. I followed Estilo’s work on Instagram and liked their work so I thought I would try them.
I live in the Woodlands, so I know and am very familiar with the drive into the city (my current colorist is on Westhemier). I left my house at 11:30 for my 12:45 appt. When I got to 45, my navigator detected major traffic on 45, it told me that I wasn’t going to arrive to my destination until about 12:57. So I called the salon and explained to the receptionist named Ty, my situation. She told me, «oh that’s unacceptable we are booked solid because its Valentines day and they have absolutely no wiggle room, and that the colorist Megan actually had another appointment at 1» I told her, «I am scheduled for a color and cut, that’s usually a 3 hour process?» The receptionist then said that they only allot 45 mins for application to the customer… (that still doesn’t explain to me, why she would have another client at 1)? I told her that I did not understand that… I didn’t want to argue with the receptionist so I told her I had to reschedule then. I than called my husband crying (because mind you I am stuck on some CRAZY bumper to bumper traffic on 45), he suggests that maybe they could still see me for just the cut. So I called back, and spoke to Ty again, and I asked if I could still go in just for a cut? She said «oh yeah we can do that». Well at this point, I am already upset. And I asked her, «Why couldn’t you offer this option before? You tried absolutely nothing to work with me.» She was very argumentative with me, she said that she did try because she offered to reschedule me for another day… she then interrupted me and said if I just wanted to speak to the owner. At this point, I am just done. I said no, that this is just poor service and a poor way to handle a new customer.
About 20 mins later, as I am already on the way home, this same receptionist calls me back and informs me the stylist canceled on her cousins appointment and that she could work me in, but that I would have to expect to be there all day. At this point I am so done… Again, this should have been an option that should have been offered to me from the VERY BEGINNING when I was calling them to tell them I was running a little over 10 minutes late!!! This receptionist was very rude, snarky, argumentative, and sarcastic.
I know that I was running late, but things like this happen. I cannot anticipate crazy stand still traffic, and actually I did anticipate traffic that’s why I gave myself an extra 30 mins to get there! This happened to me about 5 years ago when I was running late to my original stylist, but because they are a very reputable hair salon they worked with me, and at that time I was running 30 mins late!
This receptionist had absolutely no empathy, was rude and has absolutely no business being in customer service. I am a first time customer, I am about to go to your salon and give you $ 350+, and this is the treatment that I get. Needless to say, I will never be going back to this salon ever again. I am sure the colorist and stylist are great and talented, but this kind of treatment is unacceptable.
I will be going back to my original salon, M salon. Where their customer service is exceptional, everyone is extremely pleasant and they follow the motto of any successful business… the customer is always right.

I had the same hair dresser for about 12 – 13 years, and she tired in August last year (2014). I was extremely nervous and unsure how to go about selecting a new hair dresser. Needless to say, I was putting off this task as long as I could and neglecting my hair in the process. I have a few friends that I know have gone to Eric before for numerous different things related to their hair, and unanimously, they all absolutely love him! Therefore, I figured I would give Eric a try, and I’m so incredibly happy that I did!
The only possible relatively negative thing I can even think of is it took me a few times over two days of calling to finally get through to someone to begin booking my appointment. However, as soon as I was able to get through, booking the appointment was extremely easy. I called on a Wednesday I believe, and they found me an appointment with Eric that Saturday! Thank goodness! :) They also told me that price over the phone, and it was that correct charge that they ended up charging me (plus I got the $ 25 off first time client Unilocal discount)!
When I arrived, I was greeted, checked-​in, and offered coffee, tea, or water. I arrived early since it was my first time there, and I didn’t know how long the stove would take. I waited their waiting area for just a little bit, and then, Eric came to get me promptly on-​time!
My previous hair dresser just kind of listened to what I wanted, really like pictures of what I was aiming for, and more so just served the purpose of keeping my hair healthy and somewhat styled, which was totally fine. Based off of everything I had heard about all the stylist at Estilo, I decided I would approach this appointment a little differently. I told Eric about my past hair dresser, my hair history, and then really just wanted his recommendations. He agreed that he thought growing my hair out again would be pretty, but he definitely did say I need to get rid of the dead ends and create more of an actual style/​better shape to my hair. I told him that was completely fine with me and to go with whatever he thought would be best!
I went back to get shampooed (which their chairs are awesome and very ergonomic), and then Eric began cutting my hair.
He asked a few questions throughout the haircut, like my intentions for my bangs, what was up with my grown out highlights lol, and how I typically styled my hair. Other than that, he just did his thing! Even in regards to those questions, I went with his recommendations! After the cut and styling, I was amazed! I have never been more happy with a haircut in my life!
I didn’t have to tell him how I wanted anything, and my haircut turned out to be perfect and more than I ever could have asked for or explained. It was truly a haircut made for my face shape and my exact hair. I’m so happy to say that I have found my permanent new hair dresser! He is AWESOME!
Thank you Eric so much for my haircut! I can’t wait to go back in 8 weeks for my next cut, style, and blending my old/​grown out highlights into my natural hair color!
Also, a little side note, he did not at all push product hard or anything in an annoying way, but I asked for his recommendations so he told me that a once a week weightless hydrating treatment would be perfect for my hair. I bought the one he recommended plus a heat protecting mist he said was good, since mine was running low. Both products are great!!! The hydrating mask makes my hair incredibly soft and keeps it looking healthy and gorgeous. Also, the heat protector is awesome, because it truly is a mist and covers a greater area of your hair than most heat protector sprays!
Overall, Estilo is a fabulous hair salon, if you want gorgeous hair! The other hair dressers that were there that day all had clients that left with gorgeous hair cuts made just of them as well! I’m pretty sure you can go to anyone there and be comfortable that you’ll receive great services!

This review is a couple of months late since I actually got my hair cut in October BUT Mario always does such a stellar job and even 3 months later my hair looks fabulous and still has a great shape and body to it. I originally went in to get low lights but after talking to Mario about the overall look I wanted to achieve he suggested getting a gloss (which I never even knew was an option) that added subtle color and a ton of shine to my hair. I have been coming to Estilo for some time now but this last visit just solidified my love for this place!

Needless to say, I am disappointed with my experience at Estilo Salon.
I called into the salon two weeks prior to check how much it would be to get an all over color and a blowout, and they told me it would be $ 90 for an all over color and $ 40 for a blowout. I asked if there would be any other miscellaneous charges that I should be aware of and the receptionist confirmed there wouldn’t be.
I showed up for my appointment and Eric did a good job on my all over blonde, with the exception that it had a slight brassy tint. So after 5 hours in the salon I’m anxious to just get on with my day and I go to pay and the receptionist tells me my total is $ 370…Which was 3 times what they had quoted me. So I asked her what all the charges were and she rudely snarks that Eric under charged me and he should have charged me MORE to begin with! After going back and forth and realizing they did not inform me that they added product and services to my bill without asking, I realized that I couldn’t stand to be belittled by the receptionist and so I payed my bill and left.
After getting home and I decided to call the owner, Vanessa, and she is the only reason the situation got better (and that I gave them 2 stars), she offered to compensate me with some free product and a hair treatment to make things right. I appreciate the way Vanessa handled the situation.
I am bothered by this whole experience because Eric did a good job on my hair, so it’s a Shame that I had an issue with technicalities instead if the result of my hair. And the lady that washed my hair doesn’t speak English and she was so rough that I left with a headache!
Like another review said previously, be careful when considering anything expensive with the salon.

I’ve been following Megan since 2004 for my hair color and haircuts. She is truly a perfectionist when it comes to hair color. I’ve referred some of my co-​workers to her and Mario. They absolutely love the salon. Also love Vanessa for skin care. Overall such a great cozy salon that makes you feel welcomed.

I have been going to Mario for 4 years now! He and Megan are beyond talented with everything they do! I had my hair colored today and cut and colored and I can say without a doubt that I never have to worry about what my hair will look like when they are done! It is always on point! I love them and trust them with my hair! Vanessa is an incredible esthetician and a great place to get everything I need done in one place!

I took my daughter in to get a haircut with Mario and he did an amazing job. The location is great. The salon is clean and very chic. It is pricey but well worth it. I will be taking my daughter back in a couple weeks to get her ombré redone. I will write another review and let you guys know how that went. I would highly recommend this place.

I feel very let down by my recent experience at Estilo.
I came in to have fusion extensions put in and was quite disappointed with the result. The extensions were so dry, thin, and had split ends. The hair had absolutely no weight and felt less healthy than my natural hair. I expressed my disappointment immediately but was told to «give it time».
Several days later the owners asked me to return for an assessment and promised to «make things right». I explained to them that the extensions were still of extremely poor quality and nothing had changed since my appointment. Rather than offer to provide new extensions of better quality, their solution was to use some sort of smoothing treatment for the hair.
With that, I decided it would be best to ask for a total removal of the extensions and a refund. To my surprise the owners only refunded $ 500 back of the pricey $ 1,000 service charge. They also said that the $ 585 spent on the actual hair extensions would not even be partially refunded. Essentially I left the salon with a hefty loss of $ 1,085 and nothing to show for it.
Obviously there are going to be some disappointing experiences at every salon or any business for that matter. But what separates the great ones from the mediocre ones is a «customer is always right» mentality. In this case, Estilo could have at least refunded the entire service charge of $ 1,000 considering that I walked away with nothing. Instead they chose to retain $ 500 knowing full well that the client had zero satisfaction with their work.
Please be very careful if you’re considering doing any expensive treatments at Estilo.

MEGAN… amazing. I found Estilo through Unilocal,looking for someone who could give me a nice balayage, and who understands how to color hair as dark as mine (darkest brown). I liked that she herself has dark hair, and the photos on Unilocal indicated that she truly knows what she is doing.
I went to a very reputable salon about a month ago and requested the same thing, but ended up with red and brassy hair. I was nervous that she would not be able to not only fix that, but get my hair to the point she did. However, she did EXACTLY what I wanted, I left with the biggest smile on my face and couldn’t thank her enough. I left Estilo feeling pretty and relieved.
The entire staff was very kind and the salon itself is full of natural light and clean. It was easy to find as well. I also appreciated that nobody pushed any products on me.
Ladies with dark hair, you must visit Megan. She specializes in color and is good at her craft.

I heard about Estilo from a friend and I was not let down! I booked an appointment for an eye brow wax and blow out for my birthday dinner. Michael at the front desk was extremely helpful and very nice. He seems to really enjoy his job which is refreshing to see as I have dealt with so many rude front desk coordinators before. I had to do both services on separate days but that was totally fine because once I came to Estilo the first time I kept trying to find more excuses to come back! The salon was built in an older home, probably midcentury as I can tell by the construction, which I LOVE, especially the Saltillo tile.
I first saw Vanessa for the wax and she was just the sweetest girl and had a lot of great advice. She definitely knew what she was doing and made me feel very comfortable. It was the least painless wax I had ever gotten. I will probably be booking a facial with her very soon.
Megan did my blowout and let me tell you, this was not your average blow out as you would get at blowdry bar or styling bar. She took her time and I looked absolutely amazing. Yes, the prices are higher but once you see how much work she puts into giving you the look you want, you will understand that it is totally worth it. Also, the chairs for the shampoo bowls are basically reclined beds so there is zero neck pain. I would come here for cuts simply for that reason!
As I said before, I am now trying to decide what service I want to do next because I cant wait to spend another part of my afternoon at Estilo! Thank you!

Before coming to the Estilo Salon for a haircut I can’t remember the last time I was TRULY pampered! It was first class service all the way, from booking the appointment (Michael at the front desk), arriving at the salon and being greeted with a smile on everyone’s face, to the actual haircut and blow-​out. Needless to say they have a lifetime customer in me and I would recommend this salon and Mario to anyone I know!

Mario was recommended to me as someone who might be able to do my hair for my wedding… no small day, and no small task. As a trial run of sorts and to see if he’d be the kind of person who could make me feel at ease on what promises to be the most amazing (yet stressful) day of my life, I went to him to have my hair done for our engagement party. To say that I was not disappointed would be an understatement.
I walked out of Estilo with literally the most amazing updo I’ve ever had. Mario made me feel completely comfortable and taken care of, and the hairstyle was better than what I could have dreamed up. I liken it more to art than to a simple hairstyle. It was the perfect combo of natural and sophisticated, clean yet not «done.» As far from what I’d call «prom hair» as you can get.
Not only did everyone at our engagement party tell me it was gorgeous, but strangers were stopping me at the Galleria (where I went to have my makeup done), telling me how fab it was. Several people inquired whether I’d had it done at all… a true test. When it looks perfect, yet effortless, you know you’ve got a great look.
I hired Mario to do my hair for my wedding as well as my entire bridal party. There’s no one else I’d trust more to make us all look our best. I HIGHLY recommend for your next big gala, wedding, or special event.

Have been following Mario around for haircuts since he was still in school! I trust no one else, and am SO happy that he has established is own Salon. The location is very comfortable, cozy and easy to access.
Recently I had a facial from Vanessa– WOW! The treament truly left me feeling refreshed with bright beautiful skin. The products she uses are the top quality and I will definitely be going back to her as well.
