This place has made drastic improvements all around, the sound is crisp, the bar is quick, efficient, and affordable, the patio is more open and less cluttered. The parking is tough, but anywhere is like that, I have parked on the street for years when going to Fitzgerald’s. Eastdown, is rising to be the next big independently owned venue with great acts, and every time I make a trip there, it’s better than the last. This is the new Mecca for local acts to play, so if you’re in a band, go here, you have a better chance of being on their stage than any other place in town. The seating is great, the ambiance, even better, and the acts they are giving chances to are going to be the next big stars of Houston. Forget House of Blues and their ten dollars beers, forget Scout Bar with their washed up 90’s acts and constant harassment from their local PD, this place is going to be Houstons equivalent to New Yorks CBGB. Give it a shot, support local business, and local acts, stop giving your money to bullshit corporate venues that won’t even allow you to mosh. East down is the place to be for music, both for spectators and performers.

Been just okay in the past but some improvements, with friendly bar tenders and great live music, was good enough for me

This place sucks. Small, filthy, and no A/C. I saw AC ducts but no air was coming out of them. You’ll have to park on the street. Don’t waste your time with this shit hole.

$ 6 for a hot beer $ 7 for a well drink mixed with sprite coke or tonic. No credit card machine. Bathrooms are totally gross. It’s hot inside. The improvements to the stage area are awesome but it’s not worth it. PS look forward to hood rats parking you in at 2am when your trying to leave. I guess they serve this select clientel after hours.
