Drybar – River Oaks

Had my first blow out with them and it was fantastic! I would highly recommend them to my friends and family! They have multiple types of blow outs and have a magazine for you to choose from!

I am a DryBar regular, in fact I’m a «junkie». This started as going only for a special occasions and has now become something I do almost weekly. I have a ton of hair and have tried a couple of other blow dry bars around the city, but none touch DryBar. I now use many of their products at home. I’ve never had a problem making an appointment and they have always been prompt. I request the same stylist, Margaretta, and when she is working my request is granted. If I’m traveling for work I’ll go in the morning before the flight and my hair holds up for a couple of days. Definitely worth the $ 40.

Tried this place out for my NYE hairstyle and saw Joe. He is so cute and very friendly. Start to finish, everything was nice. Joe would ask me how I prefer my curls etc and stayed engaged with me to ensure I recieved what I was expecting. I’d definitely try this place out again. Appt states 35 mins for a blowout but I was out in 1 hour… which was the norm at my local salon in Cali.

After giving the Drybar another chance, I have come to the conclusion that whatever products they use, it works. My stylist gave me the curls I wanted with the intentions of them getting looser within the next 5 hours. She ensured she didn’t use a lot of products to allow it to fall and I can apply more products as I desired when I reached the «look» I wanted. I always had issues with my hair not holding curls but perhaps my hair is no longer stubborn? My curls definitely lasted! I think next time I’m definitely gonna go for the loose curls and have confidence that my hair will hold the curls.
In conclusion, whatever they are doing here, it works. My stubborn hair holding these curls will prove that the desired look is truly possible!

I have a hair godmother (Caleana) that works wonders on my hair! Looks like I got a relaxer at my roots lol! I love it. I have super textured hair (natural hair, African American) and I’ve sometimes had problems at hair salons with finding the right people to do my hair. Go to Caleana! She is amazing and will work her magic! I’m having my engagement photos tomorrow so I told her I wanted my curls tight tight tight and she understood! Couldn’t be happier with my experience and the results!

I’m very disappointed with my first experience at drybar River Oaks. The whole experience made me regret spending the money when I could have done a better job myself in less time. My stylist was doing a great job, when an unexpected leak started and water started pouring down next to me, which can be terrifying when it is splashing you and you’re next to so many electrical currents. After taking a few minutes to clear the room, I had to sit and wait for 15 minutes for another chair to open up. Once one did, my stylist got back to work. Shortly after that, she was interrupted twice asking her to do someone else’s hair per request. On the second time around, she was informed she needed to do the other customers hair who requested her and was VIP. So she dropped what she was doing and someone else took over.
Once the whole ordeal was over (1.5hrs later) I was unhappy with the experience and especially with my hair. The chair that I was moved to, had a TV in front of it instead of a mirror, so I couldn’t see what was being done. When I was finally turned around, I stated I was unhappy and she made small attempts to fix it, but the damage had been done, there was too much hairspray to correct in a timely manner. If I had been able to see what she was doing, during the process, I would have spoken up and corrected the situation to avoid wasting both her time and mine.
Overall I’m super disappointed in how this drybar is run, and the service they provide. They may consider taking better care of their customers in safety, treatment, and consideration.

This is the 2^nd time I’ve been to a Dry Bar in Houston and each time is worse than the next. The stylists have absolutely no training and have no clue what they are doing. The products are cheap and overall, you are 100% better doing your own hair. Don’t waste your time or money.

Easy, quick and overall a wonderful experience. Ask for Je’rric if you have curly or ethnic hair shes paitent and sweet!

I came in with inspiration photos for an updo (attending a black tie wedding). My stylist (Amy) was quick to get to work, asked for several opinions along the way, and styled my hair perfectly. With a full head of baby fine hair, I’m told that’s not an easy feat! The style held all night. Thank you!

I love dry bar! I especially love their customer service. I have had multiple blow outs with different stylists and it has always been great! This is a good place to come to if you don’t feel like trying anything new and you just want a good blow out.

I like this Dry Bar location and J did an amazing job on my hair. Top notch from her! The reason for my 3 stars instead of 5 is that the receptionist asked me if I wanted anything to drink and I asked for water. She never brought it to me. It wouldn’t be a big deal if this hadn’t happened to me pretty much every time at the Dry Bar in general! It’s like they want to be upscale and offer that nice touch but never follow through on it. Not like I was asking for wine or a cocktail — just water. I am sure my experience is the exception to the rule, but it has been my experience nevertheless.

Love this place, recommend it over the uptown location.
Jeremy is my favorite and can’t wait to see him again. he was a lot of fun. Last time I was there Anna did my hair and she was amazing as well. I have long thick hair and they do such a great job smoothing it out. Can’t beat Dirty Dancing, a mimosa, and coming out w hair smelling & looking like a million bucks.

I have generally been pleased with dry bar.
I’ve been three times; every time, I’ve asked for the «straight up» which, if I recall correctly, is described as straight with some body.
Each time, the different stylist has had drastically different methods; one used a curler and hairspray, one tugged the hell out of the hair with a round brush (my preferred method.) and today my lady used wide rollers as she went.
Different means to the same end, I guess? Always looks good, but in the future I think I’ll be specific about HOW I want the blow out to go.
Furthermore, having just moved to Houston, I’ve gone to several places for blowouts and this is the only place I’ve returned. I think this is the best blow out in Houston.
Another good thing is the standard price. I have long, thick, curly hair and other local places up charge like crazy.

Drybar corporate contacted me a while ago in regards to bad experience I had at another location and gave me store credit to have another blowout. I chose to do it at this location in upper Kirby/​river oaks and was very happy with my experience. My stylist, Jeremy, was fun professional and made me feel at ease! He did a fantastic job and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

I’m very particular when it comes to my hair.
Drybar did a great job with my hair my stylist was Leah. She was very nice and professional. She greeted me and asked me what kind of blowout I was looking for. I showed her a picture I found online and she was happy to help me. My hair looked exactly like the picture! I loved it and I’m looking forward to visiting the drybar again!
