Discount Tire Store – Houston, TX

took them 30 mins that was quick for how busy they were here in the morning not even 8:00 a.m. yet and they had already 6 cars before me they were quick and got my flat fixed i will definitely return to this location for future.

What a rip off. Waited over one hour, maybe an hour & a half JUST for a tire patch (which would be FREE.) Guy comes out and says they «can’t patch the tire» cos the hole is «on the side» of the tire. He recommended I get a used tire, I said how much. He said they start out at $ 99. I said ok find a cheaper one if possible. He came back out and said they only have $ 99. I said ok I can go I can find a cheaper used tire around the corner. So I left. I went to Impacto Tire Shop, 11 050 Briar Forest. They didn’t mess around. Waited 15 minutes and got my tire PATCHED for $ 20 which they also told me Discount Tires guys are inexperienced. I don’t think they are inexperienced. I think they tried to rip me off. Wasted an hour & 30 minutes cos they wanted me to spend $ 100. Thanks, but I’m smarter than you.

They take their sweet time, workers standing around in the garage doing nothing while there is a line of cars waiting to be pulled in.

Wait time was a bit long …45 mins before the car even moved. And that was because I said something.
Women’s bathroom was utterly disgusting!!! It’s 8:30am so I am going to make the assumption it hasn’t been cleaned in a while. If I’m going to have a long wait, at least let it be a comfortable (clean) one.
Service rep Christopher G. was the only great thing about the experience.
Spending over $ 300 on two new tires… I expect better.

You would think a place called Discount Tire would know how to properly inflate and rotate tires. I have been in twice in the last 5 days. They have failed to properly rotate my tires twice and also they can’t seem get all 4 tires to the same pressure. I also took my car in to have a nail removed and the tire plugged and I left with the nail in my tire after they assured me they checked for nails, seems a bit careless. I would not recommend this location at all. They are lazy and not doing their work properly. I have had better luck at the 59 and Kirby location and will go there from now on.

Discount Tire is a rolling institution for all those with tire ails. The corporate policy is that they will attempt to fix/​patch a tire for FREE. You can typically repair nails along the tread of the tire, but not on the side.
Talk about generating good will in the community.

Wow these guys are great. I was on my lunch break when I noticed I had a flat tire. Not only did they fix it for free (I didn’t even buy them from Discount Tire) but they also checked the air in all the other tires. I was in and out in under 45 minutes and they even shined the tires up. I would definitely recommend the guys.

I needed 2 tires replaced, and was in and out in under an hour. This location has way worse reviews than some of the other locations nearby but service was actually great. I bought all 4 tires from Discount Tire couple of years ago and I had driven about 30,000 miles on the tires. 2 of them had to be replaced for free because they had rips or tears or whatever but the back two we’re still originals, but they were pretty much completely bald. Since the tires were supposed to last 60,000 miles I actually got a $ 44 credit per tire applied to my new tires which I was happy with.
One thing to note that there are going to be a bunch of extra charges on the bill. Let’s say you get some basic tires for $ 120 per. Then you tack on another 18 per tire for the warranty and another 16 for lifetime balance and rotations, and then more money for installation equipment so it does kind of creep up. But they do you have great service, free air, and they will fix or replace that tire if anything happens to it so I will probably keep going there in the future.

I made an appointment for a tire rotation and I’ve been here 30 mins and my car has yet to move! Also, during check in they were trying to sell me tires AGAIN! I bought 2 this year and 2 last year from them. I was told when you buy 2 at time they wear out differently! I told him you don’t have to replace tires every year and if that’s the case I will buy my tires else where. He quickly backed off!
Not the first time having issues at this location but it’s so convenient, but at this point not worth it! WONT BE BACK!!!

Excellent service, as I would get in any of the other discount tire locations I’ve been to.
It was pretty busy on a Friday morning so I had to wait in line to be helped. I came in just to get my tire pressures checked — which is FREE. I was directed to an area where they just do tire pressure checks– meaning I didn’t have to wait in line. How convenient! Although I wished I knew that before waiting 10 minutes. They guy checking my tires was really nice and knowledgable, and gave me some helpful advice on what to look for if I ever need to actually come back and get my tires replaced or patched up.
Bottom line– go to the designated area for free tire pressure checks where someone will help you.

Top notch customer service! After receiving very poor service at Momentum and Advantage BMW, I was advised to give Discount Tire a try and was pleasantly surprised. They treated my car with care and we’re very thorough repairing the nail in my tire. BMW told me it was not repairable in an obvious attempt to sell me another $ 600 tire, Discount Tire repaired the tire and told me «no charge!» Guess who gets all my tire business here on out! Thanks Discount Tire!

I live less than a mile from this location, so suffice to say it’s certainly conveniently located for me.
Customer service is excellent; friendly and knowledgeable service and front desk staff. In addition to getting my front right tire plugged (the only thing I needed today, and which they took care of for free, by the way), I asked about track tires for my car. The front desk staff brought in one of the service techs to talk about the offerings and what they use themselves, which I found very enlightening.
Building itself is well maintained, waiting room is clean and the chair are comfortable. Took approximately 25 – 30 minutes to get the tire plugged, as there were a few other people ahead of me.
Will definitely be coming back to this location with both my own and the girlfriends car (Discount Tire is the same company as American Tire, which she’s been using in California) for tire maintenance and replacements when needed.

My tires were acting up driving back from Austin in the rain so we pulled into Discount Tire at 4:15 on a Saturday. We waited a couple minutes after being told someone would be right with us. They inspected the tires, gave us a good recommendation for two back tires. They didn’t have the front tires available at that location but were having them sent and ready in a few days. They close at 5:00 so it was nice to walk in at 4:15 and be out by 5:15. It was raining so they kept my car inside and walked me out even opening the door for me. Going back on Saturday to get the other two tires so hopefully the service and be great again.

Stopped here to get a low tire checked out; so the service rep asked me where did I get my tires… I didnt think the question was relevant but maybe he wanted to see if I had a warranty or something. .so I answered I told him I bought them from a little tire shop. he then asked me why dont I take them back there. .at this point I was pissed and didn’t want to be bothered. .so I walked out…

I made an appointment to have my tires rotated and balanced at 8:00 am. Just so you know, I don’t think the appointment means anything here or at any discount tire locations. If you go to the website, you can always make an appointment for at least two hours ahead. Anyway, long story short, I came in at 8:00 on the dot when they’re supposedly open, but there were already eight customers ahead of me (this was on a Saturday) and I still had to wait for their cars to get worked on before they actually worked on mine.
When the guy that was helping me out inspected my car, I told him that I had a bump on the front driver side tire and a tear on the sidewall of my front passenger side tire and that I had road hazard warranty so I wanted them replaced. However, the guy did ask me; Since the tear was mostly cosmetic, if I wanted to just repair it or warranty it out? Well, DUH! Of course I want to warranty it out! Don’t get me wrong, he was very professional and courteous the whole time. I just can’t imagine anyone who would just have the tire repaired vs. replaced.
They have free bottled waters and plenty of chairs in the waiting area. The restroom is also reasonably clean.
Remember when I said that there were eight customers ahead of me? I was out by 9:00 am. So I spent about an hour. They worked pretty quickly.
Most discount tire companies I’ve been to have been very professional. this one is no exception. However, I do notice that this location is busier compared to the one on Westheimer and Jeanetta. Usually when I go to the Jeanetta one on a Saturday, there’s barely any customer there at opening time. So if you’re just looking for a quick in and out, the Jeanetta location might be a better option for you. It’s not that much farther East from this location on Westheimer inside the Beltway.
I particularly selected this location because I checked online and it showed that they had my tires in stock. If I had gone to a different location that didn’t have them in stock, I would have to wait much longer. So, if you know you’re going to be replacing your tires, check the stock online first. It could save you some time.

After visiting another store to replace my tire, I had to come to this location since the other location couldn’t get the tire in until 3PM. I gave them the receipt from the other store to verify my pickup, but they still decided to call the original store to find out why I needed the replacement tire. I don’t know about you, but I was a little perturbed by that question. I need a new tire because the last one went flat on me and I paid the warranty my tires. Nothing else to discuss!
After they contacted the original store transaction, everything was smooth. I did overhear that an employee pulled the wrong tire for me, so I just had the technician show me that the new tire was like the old tires.
Overall, decent service.

I am a loyal Discount Tire customer but never again at this location. What can I say but the service here from the Service guy David to the Manager Robert Beta are anything but Customer Service oriented. Not only have these guys sent me home with a damaged wheel, tire on multiple occasions after inspection but I have been stuck on the side of the road after the said nothing was wrong with my tire or wheel. TWICE! Shame on me for continuing to to think the issues had been resolved here but they have not. Beware and don’t waste your time, money wit this Discount Tire store.

Get here when they open or expect to wait an hour. Other than that, it’s friendly and fair priced.
Get the warranty /​certificates on the tires… I’ve gotten 3 replaced for free due to them!

Discount Tire is pretty much the tire place you should take your car to whenever you need to get new tires. They always have a good selection of tires for your car, no matter what size of the car or the size of your rims. If the store you’re at doesn’t have it, they can check the near by inventory from their system.
The price of the tires are very good as it could varies from cheap price to more expensive price. However, this location’s customer service may need a few improvements.
I bought my sedan in after knowing that I need 2 of my rear tires to be replaced as the treads are very, very low. I make everything quick by taking off my car key from my keychain, have the wheel lock ready, and even told him my account phone number to search it up.
The first thing that I find odd was I requested to put the 2 new tires in the front and move the good tires that was in the front to the rear. The service guy told me it is NOT RECOMMENDED to do that because you would want to put good tires where it needed to be replaced. My car is a front wheel drive and I know I would rather have good tires in the front in order to have better braking and traction. I guess they just don’t want to do the extra labor even though they weren’t that busy in the middle of the weekday.
When everything was finished, I drove off without double checking. About a week later, when I was about to go out for grocery shopping, I sometimes double check my tires to see how the pressures are, but I notice that 2 of the caps on my right side only are missing. So I first took the car back here and requested to get new caps and re-​check the air pressure since I been driving it without caps, and I’m sure some airs leaked out by then.
They were fairly quickly about that as they have one section of the garage just for air check and air pump. But you have to get in line by driving it up right away or else the next person will simply drive up as first come, first serve even though I checked in at the front desk first. I got frustrated so I parked my car right behind the guy who took my spot then got out and stood there. The manager came out and apologize for not explaining me how to get in line or something. He personally took my car and drive it up to the garage and did all the air check and add in the caps.
Then my car was good to go and I pulled out. But now I am going to double check as their customer service lacked on putting in caps the first time and sure enough, they only put in 1 new cap for the right rear tire but not the front right tire. I asked for another cap as they didn’t put this one and they finally put a new cap on.
Needless to say, I don’t think I’ll come back to this Discount Tire store and go to another one whenever I need to get new tires. Luckily they have a lot all over Houston for me to get my tires on.
