David Taylor Cadillac

Great service! Mr. Jeff Lofton was great and upfront about everything. My wife and I went to Ron Carter Cadillac on Friday and the sales manager lied about two different things so we came to DAVID TAYLOR Cadillac on Saturday and they were honest and upfront about everything. When we had a question or concern they explained why certain things are handled in certain ways and took the time to work out all the details of the purchase with us. David Taylor Cadillac was not the closest dealer but was well worth the drive to get great customer service, we definitely will come back to David Taylor to get our future vehicles.

From the time I walked in the door, I felt like I was being forced to make a sale. First Edwin tried to get me to do my 30,000 maintenance when my car only has 26,000 miles on it. This service is $ 349 and could be done on my next oil change. (The way it was presented was that I needed to do it immediately) Next there was a minimal scratch on the corner of my windshield and some guy wanted to file a claim on my insurance to repair it. As I was leaving in the loaner car, Edwin ran up and said I needed new tires and they would cost $ 942. I told him that price was ridiculous. Then immediately he showed me he would give me the discount tire price of $ 600. I was there for less than an hour and if I was not car savvy I would be out an additional $ 649. This is ridiculous. I have been to a couple other Cadillac dealerships and the service is always superb. I will not be coming back to David Taylor. The staff is not especially friendly and obviously there must be some type of commission or revenue based incentive program/​contest that the employees are trying to win. If I wanted to be sold something, I would go to the sales floor not the service department.

2^nd update — after the service manager read my Unilocal,my husband got a call from him and was told that they could no longer satisfy me and that is was best to part ways.
Update. The same date that the vehicle wouldn’t start, the appointment we had was for several items including a state inspection and wipers. When we got the car back, I drove it to the office the next day, and the wipers were still wiping when there was no rain. I called the dealership about it and they said that they were unable to duplicate the problem, so they did nothing. Again, like the transmission problem, they couldn’t take my word for it. But, during that call, I asked 3 times if the car passed inspection because I wanted to renew my vehicle registration online. I was assured all 3 times that it did pass and that it had been reported to the state. So, I applied for my renewal online. By now, this kind of thing with DTC is no real surprise — but the registration was rejected because there was no passed inspection on record. I called DTC back to talk to the service manager. He also said it passed, but sometimes the state doesn’t get the info in time, so he said would go print a copy of the form that shows pass/​fail and email it to me so I could update my registration renewal request. He called me back within a few minutes and told me that the car FAILED the inspection because the battery had been disconnected and it needed to be driven for a while. Also no surprise that neither the service rep or service manager did not know that disconnecting a battery would give a failed inspection result. So, we go back to the dealership the next Saturday, which was 6÷4÷16 to wait on the inspection. The manager said that the vehicle had probably been driven enough to pass this time. Again… it failed, because it had not been driven enough. We waited for an hour and 45 minutes while they drove my car around to get the needed mileage on it. By then, the GM, Mr. Cooper came to talk to us and I have to say, his attitude, empathy and demeanor won me back to Cadillac and the dealership. He was a total 180 from what we had been experiencing. He recommended that we take one of the their loaners and leave my car behind. I mentioned the wiper situation to him and he made sure they took me seriously. (on that, it turns out they had to give me a new sensor). So, he left and we took the keys to the loaner. The loaner was dirty on the outside, and I was giving that a pass because we’ve had a lot of rain. But, when we opened the door, the inside was filthy — seats, floors, console — it was amazing in a bad way. There was also a red rain coat in the floor behind the passenger seat. The valets rushed over with spray bottles and rags and began wiping it down, but it wasn’t enough. They were overlooking things that I had to point out, and it was simply too dirty to fix with a few spray bottles. So, they suggested I get another car. During this, the service manager came out, also with a bottle and rag. We had to unload everything we loaded into the first loaner and put it into the second loaner. As I open the back door of the second loaner, I saw something sticky on the seat. So the process of guys with spray bottles and rags began again. I again, was having to point out things to the guys, including the manager. Once they were satisfied that the cleaning was done, they all walked away, including the manager. BUT, as I was continuing to load stuff into the car, I noticed that the inside of the door behind the driver looked like someone had shaken a coke can and opened it — splattering all on the door. So, I called to the manager, showing it to him, and he sprayed and wiped it till it was clean, then without a word, turned around and walked off… like he was mad at ME. So, Mr. Cooper, as far as I am concerned, you’re great… but if I have anything to say about it, we will never step foot in those doors again.

Terrible service department. Took in my escalade in January because the carpet is loose off the floor. Service advisor told me that was normal. It’s not. Took it back later for a flat tire and the same carpet reason. There was a nail in the middle of the tire. It took them 45 minutes when I had asked them to patch it, they came back and told me I needed a new tire. For a nail. I took it to a local mechanic shop and they patched it no problem. Tire is fine now. Don’t fall for their tricks. These guys try to make an easy dollar off their «valued customers». Went and spoke to Casey, the GM. He brushed it off as if it were nothing. He acted like the issue was beneath his pay-​grade. I could expect such attitude from a staff member, but from the GM, it’s ridiculous.
I received a call from Jesse Perez, who is the manager of the tire center. He was more than courteous and a pleasure to deal with. He resolved any and all issues I had and it really was great dealing with him. Will be back solely because of him.

Let me start by saying my nightmare began when I received a letter in the mail stating that David Taylor Cadillac wanted to purchase my 2013 Cadillac ATS. The letter said they want me to demo any car of my choice and would even pay for me and a guest to dine at any of the Pappas restaurants. As a treat, they would detail my car while it was left there over night and all I had to do was sit through a 20 minute presentation.
Here’s what really happened?
I showed up at the dealership and the sales guy Tim was very cordial until it became clear i was not going to buy a car that day. even after i told them about credit issues i experienced and how i wouldn’t qualify for another lease they found it necessary to run my credit anyhow. After being denied said they would go ahead and give me the loaner because the flyer said they had to. I spent 45 minutes the first day at the dealership and when I asked about the gift card they promised, they didn’t have any. i left empty handed and went home. the next day when it was time to take the car back, no one even greeted me or acknowledged I was standing in the middle of the showroom waiting for my keys. I finally went to the new car sales manager Walter Thomas and asked about my car.
Let’s pause for a moment and discuss Mr. Thomas. His cavalier yet smug attitude had my jaw to the floor as he told me i was only getting a $ 25 gift card which should feed two people at Pappas Steakhouse. He turned to me and literally said I should be grateful because ‘how often do people give me $ 25 for food.’ I gave him the loaner key and told him this was a joke and he laughed. Not only that, but he made a spectacle by calling 3 others to follow him and make sure I turned in their car. one inspected the inside while the other checked the exterior. like a high school pack of bullies they laughed and walked away without giving me my keys. I called out Mr Thomas for not giving me the keys and he said «stay there ill go grab them.»
He threw me the keys as he was withing 5 ft of me and laughed about it while he was walking away. i got in the car and not only was my car not detailed as promised, but in worse condition as trash has been put on the floors. the exterior had dirt from the previous rainfall and it was abundantly clear they did absolutely nothing. He walked back as shouted to him from across the lot and stood next to me and my friend and asked me 4 times if the car was clean. finally i asked him what he thought and he said, «I think you should go enjoy dinner on us.»
I have been a customer at david taylor since 2013 and in spite of a bad experience, i kept returning. This was more than a bad experience. This was outright hostility towards a customer that was going to be a continuous shopper at that dealership. Oh I also forgot to mention I bought tire and rim coverage when I had 4 new tires put on after they misstated the safety conditions of the previous set. An oversight that could have cause great damage to my car, myself, and anyone else on the road that I hit. When asked to verify the coverage he passed the buck to the other departments and said they didn’t know. this was a question i asked 24 hours before. If they would have just looked at my car, much less appraise it, they would’ve seen it definitely needs a new tire and rim. The rim is bent beyond repair and the friction is causing the tire to come apart. Hence I need to get it replaced NOW.
Sorry for the rant but I am disgusted. So I will take my $ 25 gift card and have ONE GLASS OF WINE on David Taylor for this garbage. Oh and David Taylor… take me off your list.

David Taylor Cadillac was the worst experience: 1. One hour to get the loaner car. Came to pick up the car, have to wait for another hour. Jeff — Service Advisor is on the meeting (really ?) 2. My car did not get washed as promised. 3. This is HUGE issue. I had problem with SRX 2015 when starting the car with noise. The noise is absolutely obvious that everyone sitting on the car can hear. The service advisor agreed that there is a problem with the car. After spoke with the 10 years mechanic, he came back and told me that it is normal … No it is ABSOLUTELY not normal. I drove 30K and did not hear that noise … And then he told me that the part is not failing … So he can not fix … Again, it makes noise meaning it needs to be fixed … At the end, I gave up to those non-​sense service advisors … 4. They ask me to change 4 tires and other services for $ 1800 ??? Really ??? My car is still under warranty and how about fixing my problem first ??? To sum up: I don’t want to pay extra money. I want my car to be fixed under warranty. They just simply said screw it, we don’t do sh*t … This behavior is unacceptable. I will NEVER come back here. I already dropped my car at Sewell. They promised me that they can fix my car. It just a waste of time dealing with those greedy, nonsense of people here at David Taylor. I want people to know what happen here …

Is one of the best dealerships in Houston. I got my car towed in yesterday. They had a loaner car for me ready when I walked in. My cousin paco was right bout this dealership they do help you out a lot.

Appreciate the apology 1.5 years later. Better late than never I suppose. You may not have an Ebay account now but you did 1.5 years ago when I «bought» a car from you that didn’t exist. I added a photo from my Ebay account clearly showing the seller as DavidTaylorpreowned. I think it is all water under the bridge now for me but hopefully this review will help you to improve your organization for future customers.

If you buy a car from here make sure they have the title for it before you buy it! I bought a car not knowing they never got the title from the previous owner.
Every time I call to check on the status all they will tell me is that they are working on it. I bought that car in April! In November I found out I don’t have the title because someone else does.
It’s now been a month since I found that out and still nothing.
It’s so unprofessional. How can they buy a car from someone and not get all the necessary paperwork?
They can’t even tell me how long it will take.

I own a 2015.5 Cadillac Escalade which I purchased from David Taylor Cadillac in Houston, TX just a few months back.
It’s important to know we’ve been loyal Cadillac customers since 1980 when I purchased my first 1980 Cadillac Sedan DeVille and have owned Cadillac since 1980.
We continue to enjoy our 2011 Cadillac Escalade which my wife drives. So we are the proud owners of two Cadillac Escalades.
Never one complaint until recently when realizing we have ZERO VISIBILITY TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT BEYOND SUNSET, NO LIGHTING WHATSOEVER FOR A FULL 90 DEGREES ON BOTH THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE WHEN MAKING A TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION, VERY VERY SCARY SITUATION TO SAY THE LEAST
It’s difficult at best to even comprehend such a blatant design flaw, however it’s so serious that we can’t comfortably drive our new car beyond sunset.
This is a life threatening General Motors Corporation, Cadillac Division manufacturers design flaw and I know it’s hard to even imagine that this newly designed Cadillac Escalade could have ever gone to production with a most important detail as to having lights when turning left or right being discovered.
I have taken my vehicle to David Taylor Cadillac on several occasions to see what after market lighting solution they might have, however the consensus by everyone from my service writer to our service Manager to the General Manager is that nothing can be done on their end that wouldn’t be obnoxious and unsightly and that clearly this is a gross Cadillac Escalade design flaw.
Please recognize the seriousness of this most serious safety issue.
Can you even fathom driving a vehicle at night, any vehicle, without lights? That’s what I thought, NOBODY CAN.

Couldn’t say enough good things about my buying experience today… GM Wally and my sales rep Tammy made everything simple and did everything they could to earn my business. Well Mr. Taylor, your snooty service advisor lost about $ 10k of my future business just because he might have felt that a 08 STS-​V was not worth looking at, advising or seeing what could be done or was it too close to closing time?
I really wanted to use you as my new Cadillac service shop for my car that is pretty pricey as you know to repair, but your policy of only loaning cars out for warranty work is leaving money left on the table for you from potential customers.
Why don’t I take it back to Peacock Cadillac where I can get a loaner car without any hassle for any time I bring it in and leave it? Because your location is in between my way to work and home, but I’m sure now it’s worth the extra 40-​minute drive to go to them and continue my already accrued $ 10k worth of repairs and warranty work seeing how you probably have enough prestige customers right?
I’d like to thank the mid aged Caucasian gentlesnoot that helped me make up my mind that my true home for my car, when it gets sick, is on the Northside and I know where and where not to purchase my future CTS-​V within a year when I’m ready.
Thank you for allowing me to blow off a little steam and realizing that not all Cadillac dealerships are the same while seeing that others do care to retain their customers and not turn them away.

Steve Graham is the one who lied to me, made up excuses why they didn’t contact me! When they found the water in my car. Gave me the run around, while my car sat up at David Taylor Service a Department for a month. An couldn’t give me a descent answer to my question? Why would the service department mechanics that worked on my car, not report the water damage when they drove it in the service hanger. He talks a good game and tells you what he thinks you want to hear. But! I and God know the truth is not in him what so ever. So you can let someone else know about the review. That’s over him! He didn’t contact me on the other review, like I was told in your statement when you wrote your apology review to me. All he did was nothing! I need answers and questions to what David Taylor Service Department is willing to be honest and take part of the blame for my car being total out «a lost» while in their care’ an their failure to notify me. All the did was try to cover it up with my hoodie coat that was in my trunk, they stretched across my backseat. An turned my floor mats upside down, so I would see the WATER and MOLD when I picked the vehicle up. An the baby blanket that was in the brand new infant car seat they stuffed under the cup holder to soak the water up. Anyone of you that would have been in my situation would feel the same way I feel. Whatever happen to Customer Courtesy, Treating people the way you want to be treated. The way Mr Graham talked to me was unprofessional and I’m glad I had a witness they hear what he said. At least I did get a call from the Service Advisor apologizing for my car. An when I came up there no one told me he was fired. I will be waiting on a response from someone other than Mr Graham. Thank you very much

Great place to wait on car while being repaired. They have free WiFi, TV, comfy chairs and cookies. What more can you ask for? These people treat you right!

Not ever going here again. First time I took my srx here to get an oil change and detailed someone stole my valentine radar. When we called and asked where it is they told us they don’t know. Thought it would be safe to take your car to the actual dealership but nope. Anyway, they did reimburse us for another radar. So I decided to take my car back for an oil change next time around. They said a car wash is complimentary. When I got my car back it was still dirty. It looked like they wiped it down a little only in the front. They did not really wash my car. Very disappointed.

Made a deal on a used Cadillac at the end of February that had just been traded in the same day. Dealership gave me a loaner to drive while vehicle was being inspected. A few days later Juan called to let me know there was frame damage from a previous accident that they had disclosed prior to the sale. He told me that they didn’t want to sell me the car in this condition & worked with me to find another vehicle. It took a little over a week, but they supplied me with loaner vehicles in the meantime. They also took care of unwinding the previous deal with no issues. Now I am the happy owner of another Cadillac. Very pleased with the service. Ask for Juan Rodriguez.
