Firm founder John A. Daugherty, Jr., a third-​generation Houstonian, brokered his first home sale in 1966. Nine months later, he founded the company that bears his name with the mission of providing superior service for the client while encouraging maximum teamwork among his staff. Daugherty has stayed true to these principles from day one, leading the firm to become the consistent sales leader in Houston’s most sought-​after neighborhoods. Today John Daugherty, Realtors is comprised of 170+ houston real estate professionals and 85+ highly trained administrative staff members. Our sales have also grown steadily since our founding, surpassing $ 8 billion since the year 2000.

John A. Daugherty, Jr., a third generation Houstonian, brokered his first home sale in 1966. Even before his first sale, his natural instinct and talents convinced him that real estate would be his career. Nine months after he sold his first home, he founded John Daugherty, Realtors.

Determined to make his company the best, he based his philosophy on two principles: superior service and maximum teamwork. He concentrated on the close-​in areas of River Oaks, Memorial/​Spring Branch, Tanglewood, Briargrove, Rice University-​Medical Center-​Museum District, West University and Bellaire. He knew that there was considerable inner movement between these neighborhoods. Realizing that this inner movement had grown to include Sugar Land-​Ft. Bend County, West Houston, Katy-​Cinco Ranch and The Woodlands-​Montgomery County, John Daugherty opened an office in West Houston to serve these areas. John Daugherty, Realtors, now serves the entire Greater Houston area.
