I’ve been meaning to check out this place for the longest. So, today I decided to come during lunch. I was definitely not impressed with the food nor the slow service. I give this place a two star, because the male hostess was very nice(he was better than our waitress) and its around the corner from Smallcakes.

I have mixed reviews on this place. I do like the restaurant layout. You can tell it used to be something else. But it still looks unique. I enjoyed my food the first time I visited. I ordered the Mediterranean/Veggie Pita. It was FULL of flavor! A bit salty from the miso paste, but really hit the spot. I also got sweet potato fries which were kind of soggy. My coworkers did not enjoy their food… one actually had a hair! Yuck. I have ordered to-go since my last visit. I hope to go back for dinner or brunch as well.

Mimosas were really good and we ordered the poblano omelette and it was really good and creamy. One of our friend ordered the breakfast sandwich which was also really good. Another one of our friend had ordered the philly cheese steak and gave rave reviews on it.

This is our neighborhood go-to for dinner. It’s consistently good, wine pours are generous, and the atmosphere is really relaxing. Been here for brunch a couple of times and it’s been delicious, great strong coffee!

Absolutely love their consistent speedy service. I have come here for lunch too many times to count, picked up to go 4 times and dined solo for weekend brunch. Every dish seems unique. Their flavor combinations is outstanding and even with my high expectations — I am never disappointed. The moment I am I will let you know.

I came here for lunch with my friend Miranda. We both ordered pasta. I picked angel hair sautéed with garlic and olive oil. Our waiter recommended shrimp as a protein and also the chicken and vegetable soup. It was pretty good, definitely another good spot for lunch.

I’d be willing to give this spot another go. I enjoyed my dish in the beginning but damn it was like half a box of salt was dashed on it. Came here for lunch, sat promptly and the waitress was attentive. It was killing me the way she said gyro though. She said it 100 times the wrong way… I know it’s probably just me being anal. The restroom was nice and clean, other people plates looked delicious and I could barely wait to sink my starving teeth into mine. Ordered the Greek veggie pita with gyro meat. Came with a side of fries which were good. The pita though, idk if it was the gyro meat or the spread but one of them tasted like it was sitting in salt all day. I couldn’t eat much of it after a while. I’d imagine how good this would have been had it not been so salty, with the roasted veggies. Our funny bones had the serious fortune to luck upon a lady with 5+” heels on that she clearly was suffering trying to walk in. Why anyone would wear those to work at a restaurant, knowing they would be standing most of the day, is beyond my comprehension but thanks for the laugh, my dear! At any rate, I’ve not written Chatters off. I’d love to see what more they have to offer that’s hopefully seasoned just right!

My mission is to get Chatters a little more business during evening hours. We showed up at 8:45 on Saturday evening and it was deserted. I asked if we could still get served and they said no problem. My wife and I split the buffalo chicken wrap(It’s on the lunch menu, but they’ll make it for dinner). This thing is perfectly seasoned with buffalo sauce. The Greek salad was really good as well. I was told they make their dressing in house. My son had the kid’s pizza. Oh, the fries. Don’t forget the sweet potato fries lightly dusted with Parmesan cheese. Overall, all the food was REALLY tasty! We live in a neighborhood close by, but we also suffer from tunnel vision of going to other restaurants without thinking of Chatters in the evening. I recommend you give them a try. No wait to get in, especially nice on a Sat evening, the food was delicious, and the waiters were great. What more can you ask for?

My husband had the gyro entrée and I had the alfredo pasta(don’t judge me). The gyro plate was extremely nice! I wish we’d gotten 2 orders of it so I could have my own. We’ve been back a few times since, it’s the gyro plate that calls us back. The fries are excellent, I must add. Thankful I don’t have to venture all the way to Niko Nikos for this specific dish. The gyro is just as good(amazing sauce), fries are even better.

Their food is pretty good. This is their second attempt at this location. It’s not going much better than the first. They refuse to advertise, do mail outs in the area, offer some incentive to get people to try their place. Last night we showed up at 8:40, and were greeted by a hostess asking if we were there to eat. WTF! I show up 20 minutes prior to their posted closing time, and am refused service. There are too many restaurants that strive to attract my business to waste my time on some lame place that may or may not be open per their advertised hours. I really doubt these clowns will last until the end of the year. Too bad they just don’t get it.

Chatters has become our go to lunch spot over the past year. Working up the street on Eldridge means we have lots of lunch options to choose from. There is no substitute for Chatters though. It fills the need for group lunches, meetings and is quiet enough to have a private discussion. The main reason we frequent Chattters though is the food. It is really the only place in the neighborhood with great food. I am a regular eater of the Meditarranean Pita, roasted vegetables, feta, balsamic marinade. Delicious! The variety available helps each of us to suit our mood — comfort food like tomato basil soup, hot pasta dishes and entrees, or sandwiches and salad. We often work Saturdays and take advantage of the brunch menu — best pancakes around. I am concerned though after a visit last week … We stopped in on the Saturday before labor day and found Chatters closed. There was a sign on the door alluding to a Peruvian change coming? I hope I misunderstood the sign, because I cannot go on without the BLT and Brie with apricot mayo on stressful days. Chatters has finally come into its own recently with the staff settling in and becoming more experienced with practice. After all the hard work they have done since opening, I hope they are not giving up too soon.

Ambiance– 3(10%) Tables were far enough apart for privacy. Multiple paintings(for sale) on the walls. Open area. A little bit noisy in their décor. Cleanliness– 4(20%) Everything looked well kept. Service– 3(25%) Our waiter was attentive, but somewhat intrusive– kept coming to our table a little too often. Food– 4(35%) We ordered the Bistros Tapas(which was very good), the Pesto Chicken Pizza, and the Gyro Plate. Temperature, taste, and freshness all good. Value– 4(10%) Pricing was reasonable, and the portions filling.

My husband and I, along with 6 other couples, went to Chatter’s for Brunch this past Sunday. So, I will disagree with the comment that it isn’t good for groups — if you call them ahead of time, they can accommodate! Perhaps their service isn’t the best with groups, but the food was very well priced and delicious. I had a waffle with bananas and sweet tea and my husband had Huevos Rancheros with diet coke. It was all delicious and, again, we were amazed at the price! The food did feel like a bit much, and I was only able to eat half of 2 waffles, but we left the restaurant with happy tummies and wallets! If you wish to come with a group, just call ahead of time! :) We had a great time!

I’ve frequented this place twice for lunch and… I’m still trying to figure out how I really feel about this place. Let me begin. I had a pretty good experience when I came here for the very first time. Their lunch menu consists of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, and pasta. Nothing really special. I ordered the gyros plate with chicken and the pasta salad for my side, and I must say it was pretty good. I mentally added this place to the list of restaurants I would frequent for lunch during work days. However, the second time was mediocre. I ordered the same entrée just because I thought it was yummy the first time but ended up disappointed. The pasta salad was the same. But the pita wasn’t. I can’t quite put my finger on what was different this time around but it just didn’t taste as yummy as the first time. I think it’s the combination of the bland chicken and the pita being overstuffed with onions. It was more like an onion pita than gyros pita(I had onion breath when I left). Nonetheless, I finished it anyway since I was hungry and it tasted OK but was disappointed that the second time was not as good as the first. Ugh, what a tease! I also did notice that they weren’t busy when we walked in and it was exactly noon. I was at Thai House the day before and it was packed by 11:45! I guess I’m not the only one not feeling this place. Didn’t order anything for dessert since we never saw the dessert menu but I’m pretty sure that it probably doesn’t have anything spectacular. Given the number of restaurants on Eldridge, I’d probably skip this place for lunch next time.

Previously working in the area, I’ve seen 2 other restaurants eventually die out, before Chatters opened up. Friend and I decided to try it out after a Sunday Morning workout . Overall impression, clean, nice atmosphere, option to sit outside as well. There’s an army of employees working there, very friendly, but seemed inexperienced. Had to wait awhile to put in my order when restaurant was maybe at 1⁄3 capacity. Decided on the Greek omelet w fruit. One of the better omelet’s I’ve had, seemed like it could use more salt. until I hit the pocket full of Feta goodness in the middle of the omelet. Will be coming back for this omelet again !

Interning in the area this past summer, I’ve eaten at almost every small and big name restaurants within the Energy Corridor. Chatters is one of the few places that I kept returning to, despite how awful the service is during lunch hour. Between 11:30−1pm, most or all of the waiters/waitresses are busy running around, taking orders, rushing orders, and getting this and that for several different tables. It becomes problematic when you have a group of more than 3(and that’s really pushing it –a party of 2 is the most ideal) because everything seems to take an eternity to come out. However, like I said. I kept returning because the food is really good. So good, in fact, that I even went out of my way yesterday for lunch and took my sisters and boyfriend. I love getting the Gyro Pita with the side of Greek salad. NTS: If you’re going to get a Greek salad for your side, ask for it in a separate bowl because they’ll put it on the same plate and that’ll get pretty messy. I also recommend the smoked turkey ciabatta, regular size Greek salad, traditional fish & chips entrée plate, and most of the pitas and wraps. Oh, and the zucchini fritters and traditional wings for appetizers are absolutely delicious. Yumms, I’m drooling just thinking about the wings.

I’ve been here twice and left disappointed each time so I will not be coming back. I was really excited with their extensive menu that included sweet potato fries but that was the only thing that tasted good. First time there, I ordered the primavera pasta with pesto sauce. I’m not sure you can call it pesto sauce since there was only a tiny hint of pesto in overly drenched olive oil sauce with frozen tasting vegetables and you would not be able to tell just by looking that it was suppose to be pesto sauce(it was clear and not green, not even a speckle). One of the worse pasta I’ve ever had. At least the sweet potato fries was good, but how can you go wrong there? Second time there, I had Parisian Chicken Sandwich with Tomato Basil Soup. The only good was the name of the entrees. It was a total disaster!!! The Tomato Basil soup was brown! BROWN! Very salty and liquidly(not thick) and tasted nothing like tomato basil soup(tomato absent), it was the worst I’ve ever had, worse than if it came straight from store shelf bought campbell’s canned soup. I told the waiter it was very salty and barely touched it when he asked how was everything. He did nothing after. Why even ask? Then came the sandwich, the chicken was pulled/ripped/shredded and very very dry and greasy. There was barely any jalepeno mayonnaise on the sandwich, just a bit on a tiny section of the sandwich. The bread was not fresh and greasy. I will never go back, I’ve given them two chances and would not recommend this restaurant to anybody. Perhaps it was my entrée selection since my husband was content with his entrees — a prosciutto sandwich and then he had the gyro wrap? However, if I have to take a chance for each visit and hope that my dish comes out decent everytime, forget it!
