History

Established in 2004.

The transformation from a remodeler to home theater specilaist just fit. My experience designing, building and servicing began back in 1987. We began as a small company specializing in custom cabinets and kitchen remodeling.

Caveman Home Theaters began shortly after an existing client asked me to help him build out two upstairs bed rooms and turn them into a dedicated theater. They already had a basic set of plans that had to be modified to his homes dimensions. Their theater joined two upstairs bedrooms into one dedicated media room with a large 120″ screen and a powerful 7.2 surround system with motorized seats.

After that project we studied and became a certified Cedia and THX approved professional installer. Our experience and training exceed that of most of the competition. Since 2004 Caveman Home Theaters has become one of the most respected names in custom audio/​video in Houston.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

As a young fella growing up in Houston in the 70’s I knew my path wasn’t going to include becoming a Doctor or Engineer. I was drawn to industrial arts in Jr. High and excelled in wood shop in high school.

As a young adult I spent the first 4 years working for other companies first as an apprentice electrician, then later as project manager for a general contractor. I soon realized I could do a better job for my clients handling their projects myself. I had the commitment, the skill and the experience to start my own business.

Joe Travis and Asssociates — General Contractor specializing in kitchen and bathroom renovations, we also had a small cabinet shop building both residential and commercial cabinetry.

In the 90’s I joined with my father and The Blind Man to concentrate on custom window treatments, blinds, shutters and shades.

In 2006 Caveman Home Theaters was created.
