Good Tex Mex with good service. We had enchiladas and really liked them. We will go back! Good HH prices for margaritas.

I had the Lola fajitas to go, what I received was a grease pit, one of the worst meals I have ever had. The meat was not good, the bacon smelled weird, the shrimp were a joke all covered in cheese and pure grease. I literally could fill a glass full of this grease. The tortillas didn’t seem fresh, the charro beans were no good… Hell even the red sauce was a soupy greasy mess. The only thing edible was the rice, the rest went in the garbage where it belongs.

Tex-mex food at its finest… well its prettty good, the atmosphere is great servers are quick and very attentive(so your drink wont ever be empty for to long) and prices on food are not to bad either so its not to bad if you are on a budget and looking for some good food. portions are better than at usual places i have ordered the street tacos and it comes with 3 fajita tacos with slices of avocado slices in each taco. yes 3 slices of avocado blew my mind lol … oh and a good serving of rice and beans. for about 8 bucks or so not to bad in my books I am not sure of all the drink specials during the week but i do know they have them all week and it varies per day. I do know that THURSDAYISDOLLARSMALLMARGARITAS with the purchase of a food item completely worth it, says the limit is 3 or 4 but its not bad the large margarita on Thursdays are $ 3.50. so grab a few friends and head over to Casa Nueva i might end up seeing you there one thursday since it has now became my friends and I go to spot on Thursdays.

Ate here for lunch. We were quickly seated and our drink orders taken. The waiter seemed in a hurry because he kept running off before we were done asking questions or ordering. We wanted margaritas with our meal and had to flag him done again to ask for them. Margaritas are 1.50 on Thursdays. We started with the two amigo — queso and guac. The guac was really chunky, a bit too big avocado compared to the diced tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños. Flavor good, but needed salt. Queso– creamy and has some onions and jalapeños. Main courses were steak brochet and casa combo. Steak brochete — steak cooked well with crispy edges and good beef flavor. Good amount of melted cheese on top. Lots of sauté onions — cooked right but too greasy. The barrocho beans had a good broth flavor and nice chunks of vegies and bacon. Beans tender and cooked well. Casa combo — had taco, enchilada, and tamale. Tamale really good, tender and moist. Good filling portion to masa. Would be better served over rice. Taco would be better if served on separate plate as it got soggy. Beef flavor was good and not greasy. Enchilada is rich and creamy with right amount of gravy. Overall, decent tex mex with so so service.

I was impressed with this place even before the food arrived. Service was amazing! It’s hard to find a decent restaurant in Houston and even harder to find one with great food and excellent service! I can’t wait to come back and try other menu items. Tip: the salsa they bring out is not only authentic but so good! Served warm and homemade just like I was raised on.

Great tasting food, good temperature for food and restaurant, very reasonable prices, special every week on multiple days. Margaritas are good and very nice ambiance. Servers and table staff are prompt most of the time. We will return and recommend it to others.

Texas is known for its Tex-Mex and this place does not disappoint. They feature a warm red salsa and a sweet green sauce. Both of these are in my top 5 in Houston. Staff made sure our chips and salsa, as well as tea’s where never empty. My wife had the beef fajitas, and I a burrito combination. Food was hot, and tasted good. Prices can’t be beat, both of us ate for under $ 20. The only reason it goes down to a four star, is because the waiter himself was rarely present at the table. It was the bus boys/girls who kept our refills coming. Would recommend that friends to try this place.

This place has the best cheese enchiladas I have ever eaten and the service is awesome. I go here just for the cheese enchiladas. They use the tasty cheese and not the cheese without flavor. I can’t wait to go back.

This is my parent’s favorite Mexican restaurant in North Houston and it’s good, but not incredible. They have great and cheap basic frozen Margaritas($ 4 on a Saturday for a «jumbo» = amazing deal) and good fajitas. The décor is pretty standard with the wood tables and colorful banners. It’s nothing to write home about, but it does hit the spot if you need Mexican food and you are in North Houston.

This place has phenomenal service. Prices are very cheap and chips and salsa are really good. Fajitas were a bit disappointing though due to dry and lack of flavor. Cheese enchiladas were good, refried beans were amazing, rice was good. Asked for an extra side of beans and was willing to pay for it but they decided not to charge me. Like I said the service is fantastic!

Great little find. Service and food was spot on. A local hangout with fresh food and wide variety. Margaritas were fantastic and so were the chicken tacos. Highly recommended.

Sooo I Unilocaled around for a bit and came across this place. From the time we walked in from the time we left our experience was great! I didn’t care for the salsa to much, but that’s just me because my boyfriend liked it. The margaritas were really good especially the peach… The food was great and the customer service was awesome! So i have no complaints about this place. Oh almost forgot the sopapillas were great also!

Was looking for a new Mexican restaurant to try out and saw that this place had great reviews. Overall, its not a bad choice for drinks and a tasty meal. The food is better elsewhere, but their prices and service can’t be beat! The first thing I noticed is that there were tons of people in the restaurant despite us going at 2:30PM on a weekday– normally a pretty dead time for most restaurants. The menu is quite expansive, so you’re almost always able to find your favorite tex-mex dishes. The menu is markedly cheaper than many nearby Mexican restaurants, since most entrees cost in the range of $ 7 – 11. The food was alright but nothing remarkable. My order came with an enchilada and fajita meat. The enchilada was lukewarm but full of meat and the beef fajita meat was well seasoned but very tough. It was decent enough but again, nothing to write home about. The chips and salsa served with top notch– the chips were piping hot and fresh, and the salsa was spicy and flavorful. We never had to ask for drink or chip basket refills, which was really nice. The waitstaff were very attentive and polite. Couldn’t have been better! I didn’t have a margarita, myself, but they seem to offer great deals on huge margaritas.

Pretty decent restaurant. This location is off of 1960 and kulkendahl. It’s in a shopping parking lot next to a fabric store on the left side. Whenever we entered we immediately were graded and seated. It was mostly couples sitting and talking and then there was two ladies with very loud children screaming. They were very annoying and it was hard to make the experience more pleasurable with those kids there. We constantly have people checking on us to make sure that we had enough drinks and do we need refills which was nice. The food that came out was pretty good. We had beef and shrimp tortillas. I will definitely return back here again if I’m going to grab a quick lunch. The food was quite affordable not too expensive. They even had a special for 4.99 and it was a lot of food. I had a strawberry margarita it was frozen is really good. The bartender makes it well. I Overall I liked it and I’ll return again.

This place is awesome! Great service and great food! Went for lunch and got the fajita enchiladas and this was a great choice. 7 bucks for 3 big enchiladas. So tasty! Really good hot sauce! Friendly staff too!

I got dragged to come here because of the rumors of their so called best margaritas. I walked in mid day on a Saturday and waited at the entrance a bit longer than expected considering there were not many customers at this time. I’m finally seated and served chips and salsa shortly there after. I of course order a jumbo frozen Margarita to see what all the commotion had been about. So I taste the chips and salsa as I look over the menu and impressed. There are not many Mexican restaurants that serve warm salsa. It was also very tasty. The lovely waitress returns to take my order as she places this huge frozen frosted mug with an oh so perfectly salted rim down in front of me.(A bit of dramatization) wink wink Then taking into consideration that this was my first time here I kept it simple. I ordered two tacos al carbón(beef fajita tacos) and some grilled jalapenos. So, as she runs off to place my order I’m able to finally try this famous Rita. WOW… Is all that came to mind. Then arrived my food and it all looked and smelled yummy. The tacos were absolutely delicious and the beef is real nicely wrapped in warm homemade flour tortillas. I am giving them five stars because for a Mexican restaurant in my opinion only need to get two things right. They got it. It’s about fajitas and ritas. I can’t wait to finally make my way back here. I hate it is so far from me.

My cousin and I had just left a long graduation ceremony. The kids were hungry and it was getting late. Was wondering around on 1960 when I remembered I saw this place on Unilocal! Though it was close to closing time, we were greeted with smiles and seated quickly. The bar area was jumping so we immediately knew we were in for a good time! We got chatty & were kinda taking our time. Our waiter politely told us the kitchen was closing @ 10:30; we had 8 minutes to figure it out! So we went for mixed fajitas for 2, a cheeseburger kids meal & a full order of nachos. And of course a couple of ritas! Is that EW&F, Suavemente, Pharell, Heart, & Zydeco I hear!!! At a Mexican restaurant on 1960?!? I say now!!! Not sure if it’s karaōke or a DJ on Fridays but the music coming from the bar had all tables & even some of the staff singing and dancing along! Our food came quickly & we could tell it had been freshly prepared! My barracho beans were yummy & not that jazzed up canned stuff some places serve. Both the chicken & beef fajitas were great! Well seasoned, not over cooked. Tortillas hot & fresh. Took a nibble of my sons nachos & they were good too. We thought the kids cheeseburger would be one of those small dinky ones; no it was big enough for an adult. With the portions served, you definitely get your money’s worth at this place! BTW that rita hit the spot & they’re $ 1.50 on Saturdays! The fact we weren’t rushed through our meal, given no attitude from the staff & ate some delicious Mexican food will definitely be bringing me back soon!

I would not have expected my experience here to have been as great as it was. This place has shocked me! Any place that sells Margarita’s this cheap, you just wouldn’t expect it to have as good of food, after all, they have to use some ploy to get you in the door. Right? Ha, no ploy here. The Margarita’s are actually good, The food, is nothing short of outstanding. I love to try bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with jalapenos and cheese if I go to a new spot and they offer it on the menu. This place here does it a little unique from most. Here they core out a Jalapeño and place the whole shrimp inside with Mexican cheese. Then they wrap the whole thing in bacon. When you bite into something like that, your mouth has only one thing that it can do. Orgasm! You simply have to surrender your tongue to the flavor. For my dish I had the bacon wrapped shrimp and some quail. My tongue was happy. And when it’s happy, my whole body is happy. They made me one happy man. To make matters worst, they got my wife addicted to the Margaritas. So I get to see her smile, and she gets to see me smile. It’s… it’s… it’s… just a beautiful thang. Smile Well and Prosper.
