Camden Post Oak

So I’ve decided to look into this place thanks to Tanya N! So far everything seems so great! I’m excited to give this place a try, and the location is definitely worth it!
The renovation has this place looking fab!
The management is great here and willing to accommodate to my needs! Staff is very nice and always has a welcoming smile!

I have been a resident for a little over a month now & WOW.
My fiancé & I, always feel more at home than ever in a sense of we love our place, our view, the staff.
But when I say we never feel «at home» its positive in the sense that it is a very resort type lifestyle that we never feel like we are just «at home».
When we first looked at the place a few years ago it was 1200 Post Oak, & when we recently decided to find a new home, we decided to check out the newly renowned «Camden Post Oak», we made an appt, & met Thais Lorenzen, which was our leasing agent, she was beyond nice on arrival, she was extremely organized with what we were looking for & what apartments she was going to show us, keys in hand and every little question that we asked was answered sincerely & on point. We had a lot of questions because we wanted to know what had changed with the property since 1200 post oak,& plus we were looking 2 different places yet on the same floor, one faced west on the corner and one faced east on the corner. She gave us different ideas, she told us about the sun & the effect it had shading the apt, she showed us different views, & we literally walked from one end of the hall to the other at least 5 times, because we wanted to see the differences in the two.
We found the one we wanted and went downstairs to look at amenities, she walked us to each & every one happily, and explained each in detail. We were never rushed, we never felt like she truly cared, she is by far the best leasing agent, that is a big thing considering we had been looking at multiple properties in houston, & I can say my fiancé & I have looked at ⁹⁄₁₀ of houstons apartments within a 10 mile radius of galleria. We took a few more weeks to continue our search, we found a few other great places, but when it came down to it, we asked ourselves what we were doing? We had found a place that has a huge puppy park for our Grayson to run around in, a resort style pool and grill area with multiple lounging areas, an extraordinary staff that was extremely nice & a great mature community that is so close to everything & we just knew we found home, on top of that we remember Thais, whom made us love it and really stuck in our mind.
I would say the community sells it self, but Thais definitely made our decision stand.

–Pool– is cleaned daily and chlorine levels are kept up to date by a very nice lady, the pool in the summer stays very very cold because of the water circulation, they have big screen tv’s outside too with all the good channels i watch tv while in the pool!
–inside lounging: couple big screen tvs, kitchen, couches, tables: great for company
–Lounging areas and grills-​open 24 – 7 people clean up after themselves and they are usually cleaned by maintenance every day, so always fresh food, all gas, and lots of cool chairs and tables to chill by. grab a bottle of wine and you don’t even feel at home.
–Dog Park– an extremely large dog park, that has a dog washing station, real grass and a little rock track inside, also 2 benches to rest on while your puppy plays.
–Dog walk areas– all around the property lots and lots of clean grass, people usually pick up after their dog, and maintenance cleans daily for trash!
–Loading dock-​is on the side of the building for moving things in or out, you can also borrow the freight elevator for all of your things for ONLY YOU for moving ! or when you buy new things (;
–Parking– GATED parking, you get 1 assigned spot the other person can pay for another or park on level ⁴⁄₅ roof! awesome because no one can follow you in, and from 11pm-​6am there is a security guard at the entrance just to write down all the license plates that come in and out. super safe and I like that!
–Bike rack-​on level 1 lots and lots of room, just lock it up.
–Storage areas-​you can rent them out but apartments are pretty big you may not need.
–Garages-​floors 1 – 5 and can be rented per month, you park and then have access from a door to inside the hallways.
–INSIDE:
Crown molding, hard wood floors and carpeting, tile in kitchens, sheet rock walls as well as concrete, trash shute on each level all in middle, AC hallways, high ceilings, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, top of the line double oven as well as microwave, dishwasher, double door fridge & freezer, stunning glass stovetop, washer and dryer, the closets are spacious and have a closet within them, for the balcony you have floor to ceiling windows & slide door, spacious balcony & i mean spacious, windows have shades that roll out from top to bottom, you can have then gray, or black for black out windows, which we did for the bedroom.

I’m have been living in Camden Post Oak for almost four years now. The administration is great, especially when compared to the previous ones. In my opinion Jenna, the manager, is one of the main people responsible for the improvement I’ve noticed in this community. She really listens to any concerns and/​or suggestions, whether you have an appointment or not, and sees to them personally with you.
Thais, the leasing coordinator, is utterly competent, approachable, and kind.
Edgar is the fix-​it-​all guy. Imagine the most broken commodity that you have. He fixes it. Imagine that you and your best friend had a fight. He’ll call her and fix your relationship. Anything that you can imagine.
The vallet staff… so attentive! So you will be in good hands here.

First of all, location is awesome. It has walkability to the new Whole Foods and all the restaurants and retail on Post Oak and Uptown Park. My favorite part is the dog park! My clients love this feature and 1200 Post Oak is the only rental building that I am aware of in Uptown that offers this amenity.

I’ve been looking for awhile and I think I’ve found the perfect spot!
First of, LOCATION!
One of the best locations to live at! Right on 610 between 59 and i10!
Amenities!
And it’s walking distance to Uptown park with tons of restaurants near by!
They provided full service! Valet and concierge, you don’t have to really do anything.
Apparently they had these apartments and penthouses remodeled, and it looks fab.
The staff is excellent everyone is superb.
They honestly made me feel so welcomed, great community here!

When I toured the modeled apartment it was like a dream home, I can’t wait to establish my own living!

I have been a Realtor in Houston for over 30 years. I have several clients/​friends that have lived here for over 10 years and absolutely love it. One moved out to save some money to a smaller complex close by and moved back the next month due to noise issues from the street. The other person only recently moved because he is getting married. I have placed other people at 1200 who also ended up staying longer than their original one year lease because of the Camden Management philosophy, location, staff and they have an awesome dog park!

I have lived in a few Camden Communities and what has always stood out is the service. Mind you, this is much more upscale but I’m surprised to see how consistent the service levels are.
I love this place, everything feels like it’s from a magazine or catalog. I have a friend who has raved about the events that are hosted here so I am really looking forward to that as well.
The only downside I find is that traffic is pretty harsh around here but there is not much they can do about that.

I’ve lived at Camden Post Oak (formerly a Sentinel property) since June, 2007. When my children were younger I lived in a large 2BR on the 25^th floor — very quiet, great view. I then moved in to a 1BR on the 14^th floor (an ’01 unit) which was very disappointing. Being next to the trash chute there was noise ²⁴⁄₇ (despite my having asked the leasing rep… she’s no longer employed… about possible noise before I moved in). Granted, she was with Sentinel at the time so in all candor I can’t put that on Camden. No one should move in to an ’01 unit as every other tenant who has that unit has experienced the same issue. Camden has done a nice job of remodeling the building but there is simply too much construction (upgrading units when a tenant moves out)…this construction is daily from 9am — 6pm and getting an elevator can be challenging (I now live on the 31^st floor on a non-’01 unit). They need to do a better job of scheduling construction around tenant’s schedules (if someone is moving in or out it further frustrates tenants). While Camden has kept the building in good repair, they clearly have cut back on essential staffing to cut costs… for example, the 24 hour concierge is often assigned other tasks and not at the desk (they’ve been given additional duties in addition to their customary role). OK, I’ve been there almost nine years and I DO like the building. The staff is generally friendly and l always look forward to coming home!

I moved into a two bedroom apartment just over two months ago. My experience has been extraordinary. Where to begin:
The location is great … in the Galleria area, everything is close by. Groceries, restaurants, shops. I was concerned about traffic when entering and leaving the premises, but it has not been a problem. And the complementary valet parking has worked out well for my guests. The concierge greets them, checks that they are expected, and sends them to my floor. [Great security!]
Moving from a four bedroom home, I was not sure that I would be comfortable in the more compact environs. But I love the quiet (I do not hear my neighbors) and the view. It took me only a few days to settle in to my new style of living. Large walk-​in closets have allowed me to have ready access to all my belongings. My apartment was upgraded with all new appliances. My only complaint is that one of the double ovens was not properly calibrated, which was easily remedied.
The public areas (gym, pools, meeting rooms) are attractive, welcoming and not crowded. I use them occasionally.
The staff is responsive and helpful. When I travel, the concierge collects and holds my mail and newspapers.
I am now a believer in ‘high rise living’ at the Camden Post Oak.

I have been living here for over 2 years. At first the building was fine, however with the change in management, broken pipes a few times in the building and the unreliable leasing staff and at times unprofessional this building has declined in both resident service and quality of the building. The leasing staff is just concerned about getting people to lease out units, increasing rent and they don’t follow up with their existing residence to see how they are doing and if there is «truly» something they can improve on their level service. When it came to renewing my lease instead of part of the staff taking me to show a unit, they just sent me a letter stating «if there is anything we can do let us know» well when it came for me to visit a unit they were unreliable and unavailable to physically show. As a resident living here for over 2 years Camden is just concerned about making money. The quality sucks period. Management is poor. In the recent months I have become very disappointed with this building. The valet is very nice, the recent renovations they have done to the building is mediocre and the rents don’t justify the quality. This building is definitely not what it use to be.

I am not one to usually write reviews but I feel that I have some words of wisdom for those looking for an apartment in this area. (and believe me when I say that I have done my research!) I have been living at Camden Post Oak for one year now and have recently decided to renew my lease. Let me explain why… After looking around all of the other complexes in the Galleria area, none measure up to the pros associated with this property. Walking distance to Uptown Park, assigned parking spaces, private garages, beautiful surroundings, excellent (large) pool area, close proximity to the 610, excellent security, 24 hr concierge, valet parking, guest parking, friendly, professional residents are just some of my reasons. Any online maintenance request is also quickly taken care of. The friendly, energetic office staff work very hard to find you exactly what you want, listen to all of your requests and are always extremely courteous and professional. The concierge are all very friendly and let you know if any parcels arrive, call you to ask permission to let up your guests etc… Occasional, tasteful gatherings are arranged by the staff so that you can mingle with the other residents if you wish to. At this point, let me also mention that noise is not a problem in this building (probably due to the thickness of the cement walls and high ceilings). This really is a classy place for those wanting everything and everyone who has visited has been extremely impressed.

I have been a resident of Camden Post Oak for over 1.5 yrs. The first year was great, but that was under the old management. Since Camden took over several months ago the complex has been under decline. My specific unit has flooded twice. Once due to a water heater explosion and second to a busted water pipe in the hallway in front of my unit. It seems like several of my neighbors have also had water heater issues. I know accidents do happen but as a tenant of a «luxury» apartment I expect that maintenance is kept up with to prevent issues like these from occurring.
The first flood took over 4 weeks to repair. The unit was uninhabitable due to the extent of the damage the flood caused. The manager of the Camden Post Oak specifically told me I should stay at the nearby Hilton and whatever costs would be covered but Camden. Five days later, after staying at the Hilton, I was told that this was not the case and that the hotel stay would be my responsibility. I had to pay out of pocket for my living arrangement during the 4 weeks of repairs. Also during this time, the contractors managed to rack up my electricity bill to close to $ 200 as they left the ac on 68 degrees (²⁴⁄₇ for several days) while having 2 heavy dehumidifiers that produced a lot of heat, to dry out the unit. From the first flood I lost over $ 1400, none of which Camden is taking responsibility for.
The second flood occurred approx two weeks after my unit had been repaired. I am going on my 2^nd week of repairs if you can even call it that. THey tore out the side boards and some carpeting to allow things to dry and thats about it. I contacted the property manager to get an update for the repairs and it took her 4 days to get back to me. I have been told that I can either wait for the contractors to complete the repairs without a definite completion date or they will move me into another unit but charge me $ 200 more in rent bc prices went up. Really? Camden is unwilling to work with me on the issue and compensating me in for all the inconvenience the floods have caused. I did not expect to have these sort of issues at a «luxury» apartment and paying 2k/​month in rent.
