Great place! They should probably work on their milk teas; a bit plain. It’s always fun to come here and have a good time with friends.

Good tapioca place in the area, I think it’s the only one tho. I always order the coconut slushy with pineapple jelly. Even though ownership seems to have changed over the years the drinks are consistent in taste.

Closest place to me for some good milk tea. Normally here on Tuesdays and Thursdays since I work like 3 buildings down from this place.

Just waited 17 minutes for an iced coffee and I’m not sure why. Oh, because I had already paid and probably would have taken longer to get a refund. Normal couple that runs this shop works hard at keeping things moving. Difficult for 2 persons to keep up with large orders. Tonight the normal people weren’t there. Both employees were working to complete open orders(I get that). After a brief wait(2 – 3 minutes) the lady in front of me orders 4 drinks and then I order 1. She gets hers and the lady behind me gets hers and when the lady at the register sees me still standing there she completed my order. Not sure why the other worker didn’t. 15 minutes later I finally get my drink. I like local businesses and supporting small businesses but you’re going to have to do better or I won’t be back. We normally stop here 1 – 2 times a week but I will take a break and maybe give them another chance later.

My boyfriend and I go here more than two times a week, sometimes more. I guess you could say we are regulars. If you also go to Bubble Island often make sure to ask for a stamp card, every time you buy 10 drinks you get one free! I personally don’t like tapioca but I love the popping boba and jelly options, among my favorites are the coconut jelly, Lychee jelly, lychee popping boba, and the aloe Vera jelly. If you are a coffee nut like my boyfriend make sure to try their Siberian café java blended drink, its his favorite. Lately I have been ordering the watermelon milk green tea with lychee jelly, its so good! A warning if you get drinks with milk in them, they use powdered milk which sometimes clumps in the drink, make sure to shake it extra before stabbing it with the straw. Also just so you know the drinks that contain fresh ingredients like the watermelon shake and the avocado shake are sometimes not available, I would call ahead to check if they can make them before making the trip. If I could custom rate this I would give Bubble Island 4.5 stars, only because they could us an update or even a coat of paint! The décor is outdated and is not very appealing although they did get a few new tables and chairs, and got rid of that nasty couch! The staff is always friendly although a few do not speak very good English and make the ordering process sometimes difficult. Overall Bubble Island is my favorite bubble tea place, and offers a huge selection, I have been going here for years and have still not tried everything on the menu! Here are you few of my favorite drinks that you have to try! Avocado shake with no bubbles. Coconut shake with coconut jelly. Thai tea and chai tea with no bubbles. Oreo ice cream shake. If you like sour drinks, the tangerine lemon tea or shake. Honey green tea with Aloe Vera jelly. Peach green tea with no bubbles.

Love this place! It’s a little hole in the wall, but really good flavors and pricing. I get the watermelon slush with no sugar and love it every time!

I’ve been here a more than a few times since it’s right on my way home from work. It’s a very cute hole in the wall place that looks like it’s maybe run by a couple people at most. I remember playing board games here a couple years back but now it seems like most of their games are torn apart. There is a small couch area and a couple of small tables and chairs that would be perfect for reading a book or working on. But who am I kidding — the reason you come here is for the bubble tea and when it comes down to it the bubble tea is really good! My favorites are the Taro milk tea and the passion fruit tea with boba and while the taro is a tad sweeter than I would like, it definitely hits the spot on a hot summer day! And the cherry on top is the price which is great at under $ 4 for a milk tea with boba. My only minor complaint is that the speed of the service is incredibly variable. I’ve gone in there and have gotten my tea 2 minutes later. I’ve also gone in there and have had to wait 20 minutes for my order. I suppose that’s unavoidable when there’s only 2 people working there and the crowd size varies dramatically, but be warned if you’re looking to go in and get something quick to go. Since it’s on my way home, delicious, and a great value I will continue to keep coming back!

I love my boba and this was the closest place when I was really craving it. Thank goodness they were nearby. I ordered the jasmine green tea boba, one of my faves, it was much sweeter than most but I absolutely loved it. The boba was perfect, soft & chewy. My boyfriend had the watermelon slush, which wasn’t disappointing at all. I definitely will return some time soon again :)

3.5 stars. This place used to be the cool spot for the cool kids back when I first moved here years ago. Then, the owner sold the place and the new owners didn’t quite live up to the old Bubble Island reputation. The drinks are decent and cheap, although the place itself needs some life. The board games are not organized on the shelf. There’s shelves with board games with missing pieces and magazines. There’s a TV that’s always off. And the music only plays every once in a while. They always close at 8 pm too, so if you want to hang out after a late dinner this place wouldn’t be it. Overall, cheap and decent drinks but the hours could be better.

2 milk teas for less than 8 $!?! I was in the area for vacation over thanksgiving, and I wanted some boba, came here and was greeted by a young man with a smile who didn’t mind my chatting. My taro tea was sweet with a little tart and the boba was cooked perfectly soft and chewy and a little more firm in the center. The seats were comfortable. No it doesn’t look the best, but it serves it’s purpose very well. Vietnamese owned and operated. Chill. Cheap. Good. =)

BI is one of a few tapioca places in the Clear Lake area and after going to most of the tapioca places in Chinatown, I still consider BI’s drinks to be good. Even though the business has seen several owners throughout the years, the menu with wide selections, method and quality in the drinks have remained the same. There is the option to reduce the sugar content here and the servers are pretty loyal to the requests. The tapioca has always tasted fresh and is a bit tougher and less softer than tapioca(but good) served at other places. There is a nice selection of blended coffee flavors here.

I am a huge fan of Boba or tapioca tea. I have heard it called bubble tea so I knew that Bubble Island would be a place where I could get my cravings fulfilled. They are located in a strip mall next to a Vietnamese restaurant and a Mediterranean restaurant. They are a small shop and I think that throws off some people who have written reviews on Unilocal. I have been to Boba places that charge you ridiculous prices for a small slush with very little tapioca and I have usually been convinced it is so they can afford their fancy bar style restaurants with hipster furniture. This is not the case here. The drinks are reasonably priced and the shop is not overly fancy. They have a nice seating area and small couch corner for people who just want to hang out. I have been here twice and each time the service has been pleasant. I am a huge fan if Lychee. My dad used to bring home Lychee from Costco when I was a kid and I liked them a lot. I think they taste a little bit like grapes except you have to peel them and there is a huge seed in the middle. Anyway the flavor here is great and tastes just like a Lychee. The first time I went here I got the Lychee slushy with tapioca and they gave me a generous portion of both. I was happy with my selection. The second time I decided to try the flavored bubbles so I got a Lychee slushy with strawberry bubbles. The strawberry bubbles are a little bit too sweet for what I wanted but were not bad. Next time I will stick with the regular tapioca because I like them better than the bubbles. I wanted to try the milk teas but they told me the only non-dairy milk they have is powdered. I was hoping for soy, almond, or coconut milk because I am lactose intolerant. They also have coffee and I would definitely like to try that. As far as food goes I have tried their vegetable steamed dumplings and they were just ok. However for a quick snack they weren’t bad but I wouldn’t go there just for the dumplings. I also have tried their crispy toast. They take a piece of bread that is sliced like Texas Toast and cover it in whatever flavored butter you asked for and they toast it. I got the coconut butter and they even put coconut shavings on top of the toast. It was sweet and delicious. It was a good sweet snack(I’m sure it is also horrible nutritionally). I would recommend this place, especially on a hot day in Houston.
