Let me tell you people something! I bought my fiancée her engagement ring here. I’m about to buy her wedding band through Tony. I told Tony what I wanted and my price range. A week later we had the perfect ring. Honest and is willing to work for your business. I’d recommend him to anyone.

My friend took her jewelry there… everytime she called he had an excuse why she couldn’t pick them up. She would ask about her pieces and he never had an answer. After 6 months she went there to demand her pieces. he didn’t have them… She’s still missing a nice gold chain… I would never ever take my jewelry here.

Took an heirloom watch in for a repair we weren’t hopeful could happen. Tony made it happen! My dad’s watch is ticking away. So I took a few more pieces in for repairs. Everything is always in great condition and the work beautifully done. I always feel like I’ve gotten the best deal on quality work. Highly recommend this shop, and the owner prides himself on honesty and fairness, great values!

We just purchased or wedding bands and we hat yet another great experience shopping at Box & Box Custom Jewelry. After purchasing our engagement ring, we knew we would be back. The staff is extremely helpful and we both got the bands of our choice at a great deal. Thanks again!

Tony is the owner and he is wonderful! I needed links removed on my watch, and we had a friendly chat while he worked on my watch. I will definitely be coming back!

The best service I’ve ever received for jewelry/watch repair. Took my diamond necklace to be fixed and it took less than 20 minutes and Tony repaired it while I admired his gorgeous diamond engagement rings. The customer before me took in his watch and it was fixed in less than 10 minutes. It’s shops like these that truly deserve your business.

Beautiful and meticulous artistic skill. They repaired a very special ring for me using an image of an actual flower.

Excellent service– I needed the batteries replaced in my Garmin Heart Rate monitors. Garmin charges @$ 85 for you to mail one in for repair… but Tony fixed both of them for only $ 40, and cleaned my wedding ring while he was at it. They are so nice — I will definitely be back!

I’ve had a Unilocal account since 2008 but this is the first time I’ve had such a great experience, I absolutely HAD to write about it. In the interest of full disclosure, I’ve never had custom jewelry made before and I don’t know how much other people charge or how long they take or anything like that. I decided on December 16 to have a single pearl earring I had lying around turned into a little drop for my mother’s Christmas present. I had no idea how much this would cost me, and as a poor graduate student I was a little nervous. I searched for custom jewelers, found Box & Box, read the few Unilocal reviews, and decided to go for it. I told the owner what I wanted to do for my mom and he gave me a book to browse through for ideas. After turning a few pages I said, «Just to be clear, I’m a graduate student. I need literally the cheapest option there is.» I was so glad he wasn’t rude or snooty about it! He just laughed and showed me the least expensive drop, quoted me a price, and told me he’d do his best to have it by Christmas. Today, just a week later, I picked up my pearl and it looks perfect! When I walked in, the owner told me that since I was in school and this was for my mother, he would give me a price break — 50% of his original quote! Another perk– I mentioned I had some gold to sell and he gave me a very fair price for it. More than double what the kiosk at the mall had offered me. Before I left we chatted about his college days, he fist-bumped me for getting all A’s, and told me to check back in with him about how school was going. I don’t expect to get a 50% price break every time I go in here, but after this experience I feel like I trust Box & Box to do good work for a great price. I will definitely be back anytime I need something repaired or cleaned. Highly recommended!

I love the Ball watch I bought at Box and Box. Tony helped me pick out one watch I can wear for everything I do. I wear it to run in the mornings and the illunated hands and markings at the numbers keep me on time in the dark without having to fumble for a little button on the side of a digital watch to light up. Then I wear it right into the shower and off to work, it looks sophisticated and pretty with all my outifits and has military time-conversions at each number for my medical documentation. Sweeping second hand is great for counting respirations, pulse et cetera. Then my ball watch looks classy with a dress to wear to dinner or a show on the weekend. I’ve given it a few hard wacks on the dryer and on a few corners and not so much as a dent. Very durable. Thank you.

$ 20 to take out 3 links in my watch. $ 20 to change the battery on my cheapo Timex digital watch I bought at Kroger years ago. Shame on me for allowing myself to be ripped off. I did not ask how much it would cost in the beginning(stupid I know) because I assumed it’d be a reasonable price given my first encounter with the battery change here and Therese S’s review. I grudingly handed over my credit card and listened to the jovial fellow’s justification of why I paid a crazy amount for 10 minutes worth of work. His reasoning was contraption #1 cost him over $ 300 and contraption #2 cost him nearly $ 200. SHRUGS. On the positive side, these gentlemen remember your name and are engaging fellows. I unfortunately will not be returning. I’d rather go to Chinatown and pay $ 5 for the same service minus the syrup and honey.

Based on Cory O’s reviews, I came to Box & Box to repair my poor watch that I couldn’t snap close. I was prepared to pay but Tony said to «come back when there’s something we can charge you for.» LOL. He is a sweetheart. That said, Box & Box is a tiny, quaint jewelry shop tucked away in a strip near TCBY in the Village. Perfect location, perfect service. I will take Tony up on his offer, or just hang out and say hi. Awesome, awesome.

Box and Box is the ideal personal jeweler because, well they’re personal. As in, they want to sit down with you and get your whole life story. They want to be your friend. They want to know what you like and why. They want to take you out to dinner. They want to go fishing with you. This is all part of the experience at Box and Box. The two boys(they’re so much fun and have so much energy, it only makes sense to call them boys) work well together – Tony is all gab(and flirtation) while Wes is a bit calmer but with plenty of stories himself. They are the only authorized Ball watch dealer in Houston – affordable and attractive. They also do custom jewelery – if you’re talented you can design it or have Wes come up with something nifty on his fancy computer. They can get in just about any type of stone you can imagine(we’re making a custom ring for me soon!). They have a decent collection of used watches(including a gorgeous Patek and a few Rolexes). But what really makes Box and Box stand out? They don’t know how to push a sale. I mean, they’re just having way too much fun with their job. They’ll let you try on anything and will compliment the hell outta you – the best place to go if you’re having a low self-esteem day! Inevitably we say that we’re only going to go in for a few minutes and end up staying for hours on end. Box is like the uncle(albeit a bit flirtation uncle) that you’ve never had – with all the charm and hilarious stories as you can imagine. And on the weekends, they’ll play college football on their tv and it always gets a bit interesting since one is an Aggie and the other a Longhorn. It is definitely worth checking out, if only to get a refreshing difference from the monotony in Rice Village. ************************************* Update: I just got my ring from Box(almost a whole week early!) and it is gorgeous! We were looking for a particular stone of a particular size and he brought in a few to look at. After we chose the stone, we were given the option of designing our own band(which we had planned to do) or to look through their bands that were already made(all custom designs). I found one that fit perfectly with what we were going for and they had the stone set in less than a week. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my unique ring that I feel really captures«us» since we were so involved in the making. If you’re really looking to wow someone with a customized piece of jewelery, Tony is the man to see.
