Arlynea & Arfele’s Red Door consignments

I went to The Red Door Consignment Store with my 14-​year old who wanted a suit for her 8^th grade dance instead of a dress. She tried on several suit coats and slacks. I was surprised there would be so many!
I am going back today with my 18-​year old. She is preparing for her senior prom. The prices seem very reasonable for new, designer and gently used items. They have shoes, hand bags, accessories. The owner was on hand to assist us find just the right size. Also, everything is well organized.
We will definitely be going back when I am ready to make a purchase for myself!

We’ve been in a couple of times and had a fantastic experience during each visit. While their men’s selection isn’t NEARLY as extensive as their women’s, I found an Armani suit and some dress shirts priced way less then I was expecting. My gf found tons of designers I had never heard of, but apparently are big deals! It seems like there are always «sales» that aren’t posted, so I recommend asking about the prices, especially on older things.
I read the other reviews and I suspect «Linda P» and «Linda N» are the same person, and while she may have had a poor experience, we haven’t ever personally.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
Right when I walked into this store, no one was helping me. I had to ask some lady for help to find a used gown. She didn’t bother looking for any gowns for me and wished me good luck on finding my gown. So, I walked out of the store!
By the way, their stuff wasn’t all that great. I don’t understand how other people could buy these things at such high prices. I rather go to Goodwill!

Horrible service! I’m 23 years old with a career and the owner seem like she was prejudging me. She thinks that I didn’t have money to buy a dress. I came in there to find a used wedding dress and the owner didn’t bother helping me. She didn’t even TRY! WORST PLACE EVER! Don’t go there if you’re looking for anything.

I stopped in here during my quest for an affordable wedding gown.
I had a positive experience and Arlynea (the female owner) was very helpful and friendly. After trying on a couple of gowns on the main floor, I followed her up to the attic (no AC and it was summer = hot) where there was a huge secret stash of sample gowns. They are reasonably prices start at about $ 400. I bet the prices are negotiable given there were no price tags on the dresses.
Arlynea helped me with putting the dress on and offered contact information of a seamstress regardless of whether I chose to buy a dress from them or not.

I had this place on my list to check out after reading May’s review, and she is 100% right about the Manolos. They are there and fabulously cheap, but heartbreakingly — only in sizes that are too small for my feet. I am a 9.5 and they only had 7s and one 8.5 there.
However, the clothes and accessories were not so fabulous. I saw a lot of used Ann Taylor and Banana Republic, definitely more of a thrift shop than a consignment store. I also inquired about a Louis Vuitton bag, only to be told that it was a knockoff.

I went here this week looking for a used wedding dress. I had emailed them earlier about their wedding gown selection and they had responded within a day. It’s a small business and one of the owners Arlynea was there with some family and two doggies. They carry consignment clothing for men and women, jewlery, wedding dresses, handbags, shoes, and boots. Seemed like a lot of stuff that didn’t sell well at mall stores. I noticed Manolo Blahniks, Stuart Weitzmans, and Ferragamo shoes mostly in size 7, 8, and 9. The Manolos were $ 119 and in very good condition! Too bad I can’t fit those sizes.
Arlynea showed me the gowns they had closest to my size. They are stored on the second level where there is no a/​c. She assisted in finding dresses that were flattering on my petite frame and helped me try them on since I came alone after I’d gotten out of work early. Arlynea told me she buys used gowns as well as from wholesalers. Some of them retail for $ 1400-​$ 1800, but she sells hers for $ 500-​$ 700. They can do alterations. On my way out, she showed me other things in my size, mostly going-​out tops from places like the Limited and Bebe and dress pants from the Limited.
Overall, friendly and helpful staff make me want to return. Parking isn’t bad for being part of the Village. The store is located off Kirby behind the Ben and Jerry’s.
