I was a patient here for a long time. The ONLY reason I’m not a frequent patient there now, is not just because I’ve conceived my trio — yep triplets — but because my doctor (S. Krotz) left the practice. I followed him there and when he left I kind of did too. It’s not that I don’t trust Dr. Allon — he’s phenomenal! It’s because my rapport with him and his new staff isn’t the same as it was with Dr. Krotz. That in itself is an important factor to me. I had an established relationship with my doctor already so it made my transition and procedures easier to bear considering my previous experiences with him. Not to mention, his approach to my battles is completely different — far more aggressive if you ask me. But then again, that’s my level of expectation of medical care that I’M paying for…
Don’t get me wrong, I do trust Dr. Allon — wholeheartedly — but the lack of the 5^th star is more importantly for the staff. I don’t know what to say about them — other than I think he should be more selective of his practice and the reputation he’s strived for. As a long time sufferer of IF, stepping into a clinic for help after facing much heartache — even loss — is quite trying. There doesn’t seem to be much empathy amongst the nurses and that leaves much to be said. I’m not even going to get started on the billing practices… Ugh! Let’s just say you are your own advocate and no one will fight your battles better than you. So pay attention to your expenses!
I’ll always stand behind AFCTX — after all, they gave me my 3 precious little boys, albeit all at once — so my husband and I will be forever grateful. For that reason alone, the billing and the sometimes disrespectful staff are minuscule in matter. If you can look past that, then take it for what it’s worth when I say, I think you’re in good hands…

I had to find another doctor because Dr. Allon no longer comes to his office in the Medical Center each month. I live in Pasadena and work in the Medical Center. So Katy is just too far for me to drive. I’m really disappointed because I love Dr. Allon and I really trust his expertise. I just made an appointment with a new gynecologist today at the Women’s Specialists of Houston at Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women. I hope I like her as much as I liked Dr. Allon!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this office –they are a group of special people and absolute professionals. Dr. Allon is lovely and is so caring and personal. His nursing staff are also wonderful and connect with their patients instantly. I never felt scared, nervous, or anxious at this office — nor did I feel like I was just a patient in a very busy practice. Everything was explained to me clearly and carefully. Everyone experiences a different journey when it comes to fertility and I can confidently say that this office takes a personal and holistic approach to your own situation that is best suited to you. I highly recommend this office for their expertise in their field, but also for their care and concern towards their patients.

Went here as a last chance to try and have a bio-​family of our own, or at the very least get treatment for a very painful chronic condition. What I discovered is that I had to burn an entire half-​day of sick leave because the initial appointment, which did not include an exam of any type, took 4 hours. Most of it was spent waiting around. Quite a bit of that waiting around was spent having to listen to the receptionist call her friends to announce her pregnancy. Why would anyone consider this acceptable behavior for a fertility clinic?
Without doing an exam of any kind I was informed by Dr. Allon that IVF would be my only option. Cost was not discussed expect for me being told there was a payment plan. He also told me to eat «all organic» and to avoid BPA altogether, including canned foods, and recommended I buy his vitamins and acupuncture. None of this is science-​based medicine.
I went to the College Station clinic because it’s the only reproductive endocrinology clinic in town and learned that treatments would only be done at the Houston clinic. Ultrasounds would be done at clinics in locations from College Station to Conroe to Houston (a 1.5 hour drive, each way).
He also talked at length about his «high rate of success». I don’t call 1 live birth in a year with my age group (I found the information on the CDC website) a huge rate of success. He told me I had a 90% chance of conception. The peer reviewed literature gives me 9% after one cycle and up to 42% after SIX cycles. With a national average of $ 12,500 per cycle + $ 5,000 per cycle in medications. He also told me IVF was quick and easy. I’m not entirely sure what metric he bases that upon, but 2 months of painful procedures does not sound quick or easy to me. But he kept saying «don’t worry».
Through it all he never bothered to learn my name. He only called me «sweetie» or «sweetheart». My title is Doctor, not «sweetheart».
Then he had the nerve to make my next appointment for me without consulting me in any way. I cancelled it and will never go back.
I was hoping, at the very least, I could get treatment for a very painful condition, and, at best, be able to start a bio-​family. With this being the only reproductive endocrinologist in College Station I have no hope of either.

Dr. Allon gets 5 stars! His staff gets 1.
Dr. Allon is an angel! The PCOS expert in Houston. I was a patient of Dr. Krotz for over a year, but we were never on the same page as far as goals and treatments. Dr. Allon did more for me in 10 minutes than I got from a year with Krotz. Allon is sweet, cooperative, and very understanding and comforting!
The nutritionist at the clinic is not my favorite person. I met with her while I was with Dr. Krotz, and she basically spent our entire meeting telling me how stupid vegetarianism is and how I could never expect to get healthy if I don’t eat meat. She put me on the HCG diet, which I later learned was very dangerous and unhealthy.
My biggest issue here is that it is nearly impossible to get someone on the phone. One day, I called every 10 – 15 minutes for THREE HOURS trying to set an appointment, but never got an answer. One day, I needed to speak to a nurse about my prescription, and again, could not get an answer. Even my pharmacist tried to call several times, but couldn’t get through. I called for over an hour and a half before giving up. FIVE HOURS after I left a voicemail asking for someone to call me back as soon as possible, a very very very rude lady named Monica called me back and left a voicemail, because I was 2 seconds too late to answer her call. I immediately called the nurses’ line back, and got an answering machine. In a fit of rage, I called the comments and suggestions phone number and, surprise surprise, got an answering machine. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I feel that a doctor’s office should always be accessible to their patients, and should not be given such a run around. I am baffled how they even have any patients since you have to work so hard to even get anyone on the phone.
I also have an issue with scheduling here. To be honest, I think the front desk staff here is completely incompetent. When I was a patient of Dr. Krotz, almost every appointment was met with conflict. They would reschedule the appointment, but never tell me. They would schedule appointments out at the clinic, without telling me (I was seeing him at the Methodist hospital in Katy) He would forget that he had appointments in Katy, and just never show up, or I would just have to sit and wait for 30 minutes while he drove over. When I went in for my appointment with Dr. Allon, I showed up 10 minutes early for my appointment, but had to wait for an hour and a half before I was called back. That shouldn’t be the norm at a good doctor’s office.
It bums me out that I have to deal with an idiot staff to get access to such a wonderful doctor.

I am so happy with this place, I have been going for years to another Doctor in the medical center, and I felt like he didn’t give me much attention when it came to trying to conceive. My husband and I have been trying for three years and nothing. I always pasted by this place, and so I decided to give it a try to see what they are about. And I was welcomed immediately, the employees are so friendly the nurses were really attentive, and my Doctor, Doctor Krautz was amazing. The first visit there was just my annual exam, and I told him my whole history of trying to conceive and nothing. And he insisted on getting other exams done THAT DAY, and I was so surprised and emotional, because if I was with my other Doctor it would of taken appointment after appointment just to get what I got done that ONE day. And it did not cost me anything except co pay because my Insurance paid everything. What really tripped me out of happiness was that after all the procedures were done on me, he gave me a cheat sheet guide on what comes next. I went in two other time, and I get my results in a few days. I would have to wait for like almost a month just to know the results if I was with my other Doctor. I am still blown away. I can say that I totally trust Advanced Fertility Center, and I believe that they care about us having a familiy. Thank you Advanced Fertility.
