The Valero Corner Store is a convenient place to stop. There is one thing I have found on all of my trips to Houma. Everyone I encounter in a customer service capacity is friendly, helpful and a joy to be around. The cashier at this Valero was no exception. Despite having a difficult job where she likely has to deal with all sorts of randos, she made me feel like I was a regular, and a guest rather than just some customer. I realize how ridiculous this may sound to anyone who hasn’t been to Houma, but trust me, it’s surreal. My reason for visiting this Valero was not for fuel, but for a drink. You see, I am a creature of habit. I like a very specific drink that will remain nameless since I don’t really know you, and why on earth would I share something so personal? OK Terrific! Back to the review. This store appeared to be an old Chevron station by the interior layout. The inside area was small, but filled with most convenience store type items. Coolers were along the back wall and the restroom was down the hall on the right. The restroom was clean and had a functioning door lock. I like privacy when I am in a one room bathroom, so the working lock was greatly appreciated. If you find yourself in Houma and in need of a decent place to stop, check out this Valero.
