Scuba Diving Instruction, Sales, Service, Travel and Rental. We have courses at many YMCA, Adult Schools and some Colleges. Our equipment sales are very competitive and we will match the price of any internet retailer, as long as they are an authorized dealer for the product. We have taught over 14,000 people to scuba dive and our team of both male and female instructors can meet all your expectations. We teach all levels of diving, up to Instructor, and many specialty courses as well, to include Nitrox, Underwater Photography, and more. Our service department is first class and we see many customers who have come to us after unsatisfactory service elsewhere. Our travel department can handle your individual travel needs. But even better, we run about one exotic trip a month to the Caribbean, the South Pacific, The Indian Ocean, and more. These trips are led by a certified instructor and an experienced trip leader. They will help turn your trip into great memories.

History

Established in 1973.

Underwater World was started in Huntingdon Valley in 1973 by Art Pierce and Herbie Haig. The first store was located in half of a small duplex on Easton Road in Horsham. In 1978, Underwater Worldwas purchased by Mike Guckin, who is the current owner. In 1985, we built the store that we are currently located in at 495 Easton Road.

Business Owner

Mike learned to dive in 1966 and became a scuba instructor in 1968. A graduate of Penn State in Business Management. Mike purchased Underwater World in 1978 and has been his full-​time position ever since. Mike presently teaches two scuba courses per semester for Temple University in Philadelphia. He also supervises a group of 12 Underwater World Instructors who teach the local courses. Mike is also an avid diver and an avid bike rider, and an avid pilot. And still finds time to work.
