Collector Arms pass the 3% fee charged by credit card companies on to customers. They have a cluttered and disorganized store. That should have been a big red flag to me. The store is understaffed, and except for the big guy with the pony tail the employees have a hard time finding products, knowing what is in their inventory, or keeping track of stuff. They have inexpensive guns and ammo, but buyer beware, you need to check and make sure the stuff you get from them is quality. If you purchase a defective gun, good luck getting them to fix it. This store is using some sort of kydex wrap around guns with pistol grips as a loop hole around the NYSAFE act. I think this practice is very shady and could result in someone getting arrested. Go to blueline or RT gun and smoke and get treated with some respect. Order your accessories on amazon and get your ammo shipped to an FFL near you, pay the transfer cost. I would pay more for good, respectful customer service. The parking lot in front is also dangerous and small.

Small and cramped. Not unlike many mom and pop gun shops. I browsed their limited selection a bit disappointed in the quality of the stocked product. Most ARs were sub par manufacturers and many firearms were shadily adapted for civilian use like a Kriss vector with kydex wrapped half-heartily around the grip. One sad m1a socom lay in the corner with its barrel chopped off to make it ny compliant when a simple mag lock would have done. Their ammo and hardware was roughly 20% more expensive than Precision Armory in Carmel and not stocked nearly as well. The staff was nice enough but a bit standoffish.

Came in for a Ruger LCP my buddy recommended as a great compact gun. They had it, and several others with lasers built in, that just added some bulk to it. Granted I knew exactly what I wanted, and I dealt with the gal. Small place with a ton of guns and ammo, but then again I’m easy to please and wasn’t looking for anything too crazy. I’m hoping White Plains will hurry up and add this little gem to my permit. I’ll probably come back as the prices seemed reasonable to me.

I would not advise dealing with Scott at Route 82. They are pretentious as it gets for a gun shop! I purchased my 870 express mag from them and asked for some mods to be put on. He forgot my gunsmith work twice, then, when I showed up the third time, he quickly knocked off the front sight and installed my accessories half @$$. First time I shot it my heat shield flew 20 yards down range. Yeah, thanks pal. With that said, I have in fact returned to give them the benefit of doubt as Im a quite reasonable person and gun shops are far and few between here in ny. JUST to see them neckbearding(scandalously selling at insanly high prices) m855 ammo and telling me that ill never find it less then the 3 times(.80cpr) the price they are offering it at. FALSE. Derek at Civil Armory has it(.30cpr) and is a gentleman with an amazing customer service team. WELL so much for that line of bs! Don’t be fooled by these jokers, more importantly don’t be berated by a so called gun professional when you want to spend your hard earned money! I highly recommend you visit Civil Armory in Pleasant Valley. Derek is a gent and spent 20mins on the phone with me while they were busy just to discuss some of there products. My father had them do gunsmith work on his AR because of SAFE and it came out beautiful by Scott(different Scott) their gunsmith. I dare you to try to get more then 2 questions answered or dare I say, even a price, from 82 over the phone. And when I call im «yes sir, no sir». I build top quality AR15s, collect russian surplus weapons, and have a family full of first responders Iraq to 911. I have been shooting on the farm since 10 and have been an NRA educated firearms enthusiast for 3 decades. My family and I also own and operate businesses in NY(route 9 hudson valley) to Florida since 1947. Trust me when I tell you, I know firearms, business, and customer service. Your money is better spent at Quattro’s or Civil Armory. Take this for what it is. I generally won’t write anything less then a 5 star review as I feel small businesses especially deserve the benefit of the doubt after just one or two experiences. In the spirit of full disclosure, however, I do commend them soley for just having a gun shop here in the unfriendly gun state of NY. but I can tell you they won’t be getting any more of our families business. Especially when there are far more deserving and appreciative places here in the hudson valley.

I purchased my first gun from here. Great staff, they asked a fair amount of questions to make sure I knew what I wanted. A very nice selection in stock that made my decision tough because I wanted so much! Overall, very quick and easy process. I will be coming back.

Terrible Customer Service, Small Store and very OVERPRICED! Take the extra time to travel to Civil Armory and there you will find Better Customer Service and decent prices. This place is nothing but a JOKE… The customer service alone should shy you away from this terrible establishment…

I bought my 1st gun here, ever since then I looked else where and no one comes close to this place. If you have questions or concerns they are very helpful.

I was looking everywhere for an AR and getting a lot of «you have to special order it.» Since that could take some time, I called up their shop and the told me that they had about 20 ARs in stock to choose from and that I should come down and see if I like any. I took them up on that and drove there the next day for the first time. It is a quaint little Gun shop on Rt 82 in Hopewell Junction. It appeared to be a small family business with all hands on deck. As I strolled through a gun rack of ARs, one of the workers came over and helped me to find what I was looking for. The price was very reasonable(unlike other places I have been) and they had what I was looking for in stock. They even had a huge selection of used guns. I had a small child that was a bit impatient, but they were very understanding and even made the attempt to say hi to my little one. After choosing my gun, I was out the door in about 15 minutes, which was great. Every other store wants you to wait for hours and come back. They were very reasonable for ammo as well and had a lot of bulk ammo. They even sold used pre-ban 30 round magazines. As a result of mygreat experience with them I will certainly be telling my friends and fellow shooters and collectors. Thanks for the Great service! The only con is that the store is very small and they have a lot of inventory which makes it tight when they are busy.
