Sneaky Petes Hot Dogs

I have been coming here for years with no issues what so ever. Today was a really different experience. Staff got order incorrect and when I asked about it at the pick up order area, I received a look of inconvenience and I was told that the meal did not come that way. Simply responded by telling the «owner» we ordered it that way. She said we would fix it this time. You know, thinking about this-​There was no apology or any good will gesture. You would think the owner would care about a long time customer… She does not! Most likely will not come back here– ever. Don’t you get what you ordered? Is this a service industry? The owner obviously does not think so.

This location of the chain has been here for a long time, can’t believe nobody has ever posted a review. This is owned or franchised by a wonderful husband and wife team, one or more of their children I think also work there from time to time. Hot dogs are what they are, not very good for you but I love them anyways. The goal then is to limit your intake. I don’t usually come here for lunch or supper because I work in the Trussville area. But I live in Hoover and on occasion will get some dogs or a burger to go in the evening.
I want to tell you about their breakfast, all of it it is really good, especially the biscuits. I don’t know who makes their biscuit, don’t think it is made from scratch but if it is then I apologize.
It is soft and pillowey and buttery and so yummy, not like any in the city that I have found. My favorite is the smoked sausage, egg, and cheese, and you can also get it with a jalapeño smoked sausage. This sausage has a real zing to it, it is not tame by any means but won’t burn your mouth up either. They have both grits (you know Mickey Ds dropped grits at most locations) and the crispy potato crown things, both are good. They have pancakes as well although I have not tried them. They have the standard scrambled egg platter with or without meat, I believe you can get toast in lieu of a biscuit. Everything I have ordered here has been top notch, but I don’t really care for their sausage patty. The bacon is also excellent, go with the bacon or smoked sausage for your meat. I wish all the time that they would open at 6:00AM instead of 7:00, some mornings I have to go in to work early. The other thing is that they do not have a drive thru… such is life, but on cold mornings that would be a plus. Alas, there is no place to put a drive thru so I deal with it. Check them out for breakfast sometime, I think you will really enjoy it.
So I went back this past Saturday morning, needed some fuel before having to do the grocery thing at Publix. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, a side of grits and a cup of their Community dark roast. I will say that I wish they had real half ‘n half for the coffee, not a big fan of the coffeemate creamer. It was good nonetheless. Did I mention that they cook all of the eggs from scratch for every order? No, it’s not an egg patty that has been nuked and sat under a heat lamp for 30 minutes before you get it. I really think that their biscuit is a Mary Bs or similar, it was baked perfectly. The grits were really good, with ample butter or margarine added, but they do need some salt and pepper added to taste. All of it was exceptional. It may be a dollar or so more than other fast food breakfasts, I’m willing to pay a little more for hot and fresh.
