So the hair stylist was nice, but didn’t really do what I asked. The sad part is that I left the salon with mostly still wet hair, so I couldn’t tell that he had done about 20% of what I asked for. 1) I asked for layers around the face. He cut them on only the first few strands of hair. You could barely even tell that the layers were there. I usually go to aveda salons and they do it completely differently, to where you can actually see the layers at the front framing the face. 2) I asked for vertical layers in the back, again something I’ve never had a problem with at aveda salons that I usually go to, and he just didn’t do it. Even though I two or three times mentioned how I wanted it done during the beginning of the haircut. 3) I asked if he could cut it somehow that would give my hair more volume. He used a common technique of cutting shorter strands throughout the bottom layers of my hair to give it more volume. Again, I’ve had it done before properly. The problem is he did this POORLY and WAYTOOSHORT. As a result I have tufts of 1 inch pieces of hair sticking out ALLOVERMYHEAD. I mean it looks absolutely ridiculous. I’ve been having to use tons of gel to gel it down. The part I’m most upset about is that he didn’t properly blow dry my hair at the end, so I couldn’t see all the problems and gave him a tip that was much much too generous for the job he did. I had to go to an aveda salon the next day, and get the haircut done the way it was supposed to be done. Sadly there are still tufts of hair sticking out everywhere. Even the best people at the aveda salon the next day couldn’t fix that. The employees there laughed for a solid 15 minutes at how poorly my hair was cut at this great clips. I will never come here again, the cheap price is not worth the disaster you have to deal with later. Im attaching a picture of one of the tufts of hair sticking out. No matter how I part my hair it doesn’t help, the tufts are everywhere and will take a while to grow out.

I have been going to this Great Clips for over 1 year. I usually go for the same stylist but today he wasn’t in. So I had my haircut with another lady. She did an excellent haircut. I would recommend this place as every stylist is experienced.

When I ask for a certain style and preface it with«I have gotten this haircut regularly and I enjoy it, this is what I want,» I don’t exactly appreciate being told how unflattering my request is for my face.* I don’t enjoy a stylist looking at me with her mouth hanging open and her eyes wide with horror when I mention«side swept bangs.» And after all that I especially am not here to listen to a stylist talk to her boyfriend/husband/dick master the entire time she cuts my hair. That dude doesn’t even work here, and I DON’T need to know the intimate details of what ya’ll are doing later. Respect your clients and treat them with courtesy and above all, patience. You might tell your friend that her hair looks like shit, but you probably shouldn’t say it to a stranger who wants to give you money. (Note: I know, you’re thinking, «Well you get what you pay for.» Well, the Great Clips in Calera had no problem following my request so my beef is purely with this location, not Great Clips as a whole.)
