My friend and I stumbled upon this place on a long summer walk down Milwaukee, back in October. We were absolutely starving and thirsty, and really didn’t feel like eating polish cakes, which seemed to be all that was on offer. And then, out in the middle of nowhere emerges this bright little cuban sandwich joint. Bingo! Papi’s is an informal take-out place mostly, but you can eat there too. The place is has an old fashioned, family vibe, and has a little front patio with plastic chairs. The blue, red & white stripes on the building give it great charm too. The coffee was tasty and strong, and the sandwiches were delicious — we shared one though, they’re huge, and full of meat, of course.
