I would give this place 10 stars if I could! The selection, quality, and price are just unbeatable. I’m a huge crystal lover and try to go to shops in every town I visit. The rocks here are simply stunning!!! Big beautiful stones and tiny precious pocket stones and everything in between. Wands, pendulums, jewelry, books and even the most exquisite framed butterflies. I was spellbound. Coming from the west coast, the prices at Broader Concept blow my mind! The regular prices at this store beat typical sales prices at other stores. The shop owners are kind and knowledgeable and warm and are happy to help. This store is great for the crystal novice all the way up to the most seasoned collector. 10 stars.

What a treat! Like walking through a small museum of lovely and artistic crystals and butterflies. There are raw crystals and very beautiful carved crystals and semiprecious stones. It is very wise to call ahead, but well worth the trip!

I came to A Broader Concept thinking that it might be more of a gift shop than a mineral shop, but I was wrong. The prices were amazing. The selection was slightly small, but it would be impossible to have what they had in larger quantities. Customer service was nice and was always willing to help you find something or answer a question. I was surprised at the quality of the packing they sent me home with. The boxes they put the minerals in were the kind of boxes you’d find on Amazon for 2 dollars a piece. With the quantity of specimens I wanted there, it was hard to make up my mind, and in the end, after deciding against a mineral, the owner gave it to me, free of charge. In all, this is a very well put together store. The display was museum quality, as were many of the minerals sold there. The owners were nice. Often you see advertisements saying«Cheapest!», or «Beats any price!». On their business cards, A Broader Concept states that their prices are 30−50% cheaper than other stores. Unlike Other empty advertisements, they actually mean it.

I had a completely opposite experience at A Broader Concept than the previous reviewer. First, I want to point out that they do tell you on the website to call first as at times they close due to mineral processing, inventory, re-stocking & cleaning. Additionally, on the door they do have a sign requesting you to turn off your phone and no photos. Had the previous reviewer realized this, I think their experience would had been very different at the store. In any event, my experience was wonderful! The owners were two of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I liked the store so much, I ended up going back later in the day to buy extra items. I went in expecting to buy a few items and left with many items, including a few free items the man threw in for me, which was a pleasant surprise. Their prices are very reasonable, in fact on some items I purchased, I looked on Amazon and the stores prices were lower! They include a information sheet for each gemstone you purchase. Everything is packaged and wrapped with care. The store has many unique items for yourself or gifts. I highly recommend checking it out, just call them first to make sure they are in fact open. I can’t wait to go again!

I have been a regular customer since 2006. I have found many gift items and many handmade jewelry wire wrapped items. They are wonderful people to do business with. I also have used them for custom work in jewelry and have many unique pieces. This is a very upscale store with many museum type pieces that deserve respect when viewing them for purchase . Great store and terrific people. Highly recommend.

Absolutely never coming back. I went there once before they closed to just check it out and saw some neat stuff. I told a few friends, then came back today with one of my friends. We drove all the way out just to go to this store and I had intended to purchase a couple of things. While browsing, my friend noticed a very tall, around 10 foot geode they have in the store. Thinking it very impressive and pretty cool she took a photo of me standing next to it. «Did you just take a photo?» A woman from behind the counter asked. We replied yes, and a man ran over and said«there’s no photos in here.» We apologized, my friend said she would delete the photo(and did), explaining that she just wanted to show her husband. After she deleted said photo, the man asked if it was her first time in the store. She said yes, and he demanded to know«WHYWOULDYOUTAKE A PICTUREWITHOUTASKINGFIRST?». I replied because other stores let us and he said«well this one doesn’t» and proceeded to go on and on about how rude we were for taking a photo. We promptly left within five minutes of arriving. Will never come back, these people are SO rude and you just lost two if not a BUNCH more customers because of your rudeness. It’s OK, I’ll get my crystals, minerals, and fossils at Gardenia’s.
